From the Deep
Danica watched the passing rocks of the cliff side, her body completely still. She kept trying to keep her mind focused on the passage but her eyes kept flickering to a very quiet Kaleb.She frowned slightly watching him. He hadn't said anything else to her since. The silence was no longer comforting and she felt her heart tugging at her to say something; anything to him. She for some reason deep down believed him.

Creatures: Kaleb’s knees hit the ground as he duck bracing himself. He used all of his strength to hold the sword above his head; praying the tentacle would impale itself. Castaway: Danica watched the men pick up the tentacles and drop them back into the sea. Their nerves were on edge, still waiting for another attack from the monster of the deep. Everyone was just waiting. A few men began mopping up the creature's blood trying to keep busy as they made their way through the passage. Kaleb was on guard and couldn't seem to relax. She never thought any of this would happen on this sea voyage. Storm:Ariadne stood on the upper deck watching the horizon . She stared at the spot that used to be where Raven Peak was. A cold breeze had picked up and she wrapped her arms around herself trying to keep warm. Jonah was still staring. She couldn't get her mind off the birds. Did Dani have to face them too? Did she get through them? She had never thought about dangers like that? The more she thought about her sister, the more her stomach pitted and turned into knots. She had just assumed that they were sailing along peacefully to some island, maybe worse case getting into a little storm but bird attack no. Beach: The sand was warm and gritty feeling as her knees crashed into it. Danica dug her fingers in it as she leaned over bracing herself. She inhaled deeply, she was desperately trying to catch her breath. The water from the ocean dripped off of her and puddled into the sand. She watched it turn the sand a dark gray color as she calmed her burning lungs. She had jumped out of the row boat as they neared the shore and helped pull the rowboat in. Uncharted: Danica stretched, arching her back and raising her hands above her head. She let out a small groan as she did. Her outward hand reached into the sandy grit. Touching the sand she remembered where she was. She opened her eyes. The Sun was just peeking above the ocean and the tops of the waves were etched with its golden rays. She sat up pulling the jacket around her. She looked down at the simple brown jacket. She inhaled deeply and knew right away whose jacket it was. His scent made her feel warm, he smelt like freedom like the wind blowing in wide open spaces. Adventure. He smelt like the earth on a cold day. She found herself wrapping herself in it as she stood. She didn't realize it but her eyes were scanning the beach for him; Kaleb. “Morning Captain, what be the plan today?” A man cradling his own coat to himself asked her.

Scars:Ariadne wrapped herself in the warmth next to her. She nuzzled her head into the warmth as her toes curled. Her foot slowly rubbed against his leg subconsciously as she melted into the feeling. She could stay like this, she thought not wanting to open her eyes. She listened to his soft heart beat. The sound of it was better than any music she had ever heard. The rise and fall of his chest was begging her to fall back to sleep. She couldn't tell if he was still asleep, her eyes wanted to peek and look but she was afraid. Afraid that if she opened them and looked, the world would come rushing in and everything that she needed to handle would be waiting for her. She didn't want that, she wanted to stay in this small paradise where no one asked anything of her and she could just be.“We can't stay like this forever.” Patrick whispered to her.

Memories: Patrick watched the door shut and her fiery red hair disappear. He quickly found his shirt and pulled it over his head. He gritted his jaw thinking of his father. He said too much he shouldn't have told her. He stared down at the wooden floor. An image flashed in front of his eyes. Loud noises of yelling and dishes breaking. He could still feel the stairs creaking between his feet as if he was walking down the stairs in his old home. The yelling stopped as he reached the kitchen. He was scared, he didn't know why at the time but he felt like something bad was in the kitchen. Like there was a monster waiting for him. He was twelve and didn't believe in monsters anymore. He took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen. Porcelain dishes were shattered about the floor, his mother on the floor leaning against the kitchen cabinet.
