Then, they would ask Lily to read the messages too.

During all of this, Theo did not even help me at all.

I pretended not to see those messages, and I did not respond to any of them.

When the college application results came out, everyone waited for me to go insane.

On our school forum, someone started a post and there were hundreds of comments.

[Question: How long would Emma cry after seeing her college application results?]

They posted an unflattering photo of me that they had secretly taken.

[I bet ten minutes.]

[That's too long, maybe it would be three minutes.]

[Thirty seconds.]

The owner of the post mentioned Theo.

[What's your guess?]

Theo commented.

[I don't know, but it's easy to comfort her.]

His answer was reposted 700 times.

Everyone in my school and our neighboring schools knew me.

Everyone waited to see me cry.

However, they did not expect for me to block everyone on the day I got my college application results. I blocked Theo too, and I moved to South City.

It had been ten years since then.

I could no longer remember the feelings I had for Theo.

However, he suddenly called for a class reunion, and he exhausted all means to get me to join.

I smiled and answered Sam.

"I'm not kidding, I'm really getting married. My fiancé studied at South University too. He's currently working at Azure Technology Corporation as the CEO—"

"Enough, Emma!"

Perhaps I had really triggered Theo.

Theo suddenly stood up and slapped the wedding invitation from my hand. He spoke fiercely.

"It was just a joke back then! Not only did you break up with me over such a trivial matter, but you also hid for ten years and made me feel so guilty about it.

"Now, you simply found a man to make me upset on purpose. Do you still have a conscience?"

Sam also voiced up disapprovingly.

"That's right, Emma. Theo's working at Azure Technology Corporation too. He's going to be promoted to manager next quarter.

"Even if you wanted to upset him, you could've come up with a better excuse."

I was surprised.

My fiancé, William Spencer, was the founder of Azure Technology Corporation.

I really did not know that Theo worked for William.

"I'm really not lying. I'm getting married soon. If you don't believe that I'm getting married next month, all of you can come and witness it for yourselves…"

Before I could finish talking, Theo slapped me. My head spun from the impact, and blood oozed out from the corner of my mouth.

"Shut up!"

Theo glared angrily at me as he spat.

"Emma, it's only been ten years. Who have you turned into?

"You're vain, petty, and a liar!

"To make me upset, you didn't even flinch from lying this much."

I wiped the blood from my mouth and slowly turned to him. I met Theo's gaze and felt a deep sense of hatred toward him.

"I'm saying this for the very last time. There's nothing between us. If you dare to lay your finger on me again, you won't be able to bear the consequences."

Maybe my gaze was too fierce, Theo could not help but take a step back.

Immediately after, he became even more furious.

"Fine, Emma. Suit yourself!"

He grabbed my hand and dragged me into a suite.

"Since you don't want to listen to me, I'm going to show you what I'm capable of. Once you're mine, let's see if you're still this stubborn the next day!"

"Let go of me! This is illegal!"

I struggled as I tried to break free.

The classmates surrounded us and mocked me like they did ten years ago.

"She's still pretending. I really can't stand her anymore."

"That's right, Theo's been thinking of her for ten years. He even turned down Lily for her. I bet even though she's struggling now, she's secretly happy about it."

There were also others who questioned this.

"Are we wrong for doing this? I think I see her tears."

Derek Saunders immediately shoved that classmate.

"Don't be stupid. Theo's going to be the manager of Azure Technology Corporation soon. That's the world-leading technology company.

"By then, he can hire you into his company, and you'll be earning buckets! Besides, it's not like Emma's losing anything from this."

Upon hearing that, Theo looked down and comforted me.

"Emma, I was young and stupid back then. It's all my fault.

"But I'm successful now. I'm willing to give you a chance to start over. You should be grateful.

"Don't worry, as long as you listen to me, I'll treat you well."

I did not answer him.

In the struggle, I managed to grab my phone. I speed-dialed my emergency contact.

Then, I barely managed a whimper.

"William, quick, come in…"
