Chapter 34: Headache from Hell

Sierra's POV

I feel like I've been asleep for decades. My muscles ache and I keep trying to move something.

My eyelids mainly. Jesus Christ, have they somehow managed to glue together my eyes?

"Sierra Darling?" I know that voice. It's the voice

of Nikolai's mom, Maeve.

I think I try to talk but I'm not sure. I feel like a sick child right now.

"Mike, get the doctor" she says and I hear some form of button being pressed and an alarm going off which is killing my head.

I keep trying to open my eyes and when I can't help but worry that I can't do anything I hear the heart monitor going off at a fast speed.

"Hello, Sierra, I'm Dr Granger. Take slow and steady breaths for me" she says and I can hear other murmurs beside me but can't listen to who it is.

"Can she hear you? What if she can't hear you?" Mike says and I'd love to be able to tell him I can but I can feel something stopping my words from coming out.
