Serena’s POV

The next morning I walked into the council chamber with a folder of freshly printed docs under my arm and the notebook from the night before tucked against my side.

My campaign pin was neatly pinned to my blazer. After Jason casually mentioned it yesterday, I decided to start wearing it again, a constant reminder of why I was here.

Katie had walked me up here, and she gave my hand a gentle squeeze before she left me to go meet up her other friends. Now left alone with my determination and the scent of polish and the five other council members, i was certain I would make a change today.

Nathaniel Storm sat in his usual seat at the opposite end of the table, his dark hair combed back neatly, expression unreadable as always. His scent filled my nostrils the moment I sat down.

It was… different today. Still the cool mint and ice I had come to expect, but something medicinal threaded through it, sharper, almost chemical. It made the space behind my eyes ache a little.

What was up with him? I pondered.

I blinked hard, ignoring it. Then I grabbed my glasses from my case, put them on them on.

I noticed Nathaniel watching me but his gaze quickly darted away the moment I looked.

My brows knitted.

Weird. My inner goddess nodded too, agreeing with me.

My eyes returned to the folder and I flipped them open, carefully reviewing it once again. Then: “Good morning Alphas…” I said, keeping voice bright. I needed all the confidence I could get.

They all gave each other uneasy looks.

I didn’t care. “So, I’ve done a lot of research and I’d like to present a new proposal… A revised edition of the current Anti-harassment policy that enforces punishment specifically against secondary-gender targeting.”

I handed out the papers which they took reluctantly, barely glossing over it. Nathaniel gave it an intrigued look though.

That seemed promising.

“So right now the school treats most of these cases as personal conflicts sorted out with an apology and detention at most. But the harassment doesn’t end there. It carries on into after hours of school, into anonymous platforms like WhisperCamp that has gone unchecked for what I consider a baffling long period of time… That leaves Omegas without real protection.”

I noticed Nathaniel’s face drop at the mention of Omegas, along with his paper in front of me. I also noticed the exact moment he decided to tune me out.

I can understand he’s all for equality and inclusion but that's not the point right now. So I don’t let it deter me.

I had spent all night finding every flaw, plotting every defense. Today, they had no reason to say no to me. If they did, I might have to file a discrimination complaint with the school board.

I laid out the pages one by one, keeping my words short and concise. I suggested more efficient, transparent reporting channels, mandatory review of every incident within twenty four hours while offering protection from retaliation and strict measures if there happened to be such.

“These policies were already in place?” Tyler remarked drily at the mention of it.

Bingo.

“Yes… and that is why I revised them myself. None of them were being enforced.”

“We can’t enforce laws where there are no complaints.” Megan argued.

Nathan sat back, entertained i presume if his sharp gaze was anything to go by.

I took a deep breath. “And that is why I am proposing a new student support union— one for Alphas and another for Omegas. A completely safe, confidential space where everyone is welcome and no one feels excluded.”

I noticed the flash in Nathaniel’s striking eyes— one that seemed somewhat pleased.

“Students can go in voluntarily to just share their concerns about themselves, or others. They can get candid about what they are going through. They will be offered help when they need it— yes volunteers will also keep an eye out for troubled students who are too afraid to speak up. No more sitting back and waiting.” I said proudly.

The council gave me unimpressed looks. Nathaniel’s stayed intrigued.

I carried on. “The unions will also host Seminars regularly. One where students can go to also become a little more educated on their bodies, their cycle changes and the actual limits of suppressants— the parts biology and sex education classes are too afraid to say out loud. There would be no shame or confusion anymore, just acceptance towards the distinct diversities we’re all a part of.”

Nathan grabbed his notebook and penned something down.

“Students shouldn't have to prove they are already drowning or in a complete crisis just to get basic support. We need to help them before they fall, not just wait until the aftermath to try and catch them. I hope with the few point highlighted, you'll consider my proposal.” I ended my little monologue with a flourish, pride swelling in my chest.

Nathaniel’s eyes fell on me again, and there's no denying that the look in them was one of admiration. I pretend not to notice how my chest seemed to swell even more. But it did. So much that I felt like I could burst open.

“You said you did research extensively on certain cases to come to this conclusion… who was your case study?” Ryan asked.

I blinked.

Why does that matter? Are they blind?

Irritation replaced the pride in my chest.

But I answered anyway. “I’m using Jason Reed’s case as my starting point…”

Silence.

They stare at me, puzzled.

“You mean the same boy who was suspended for targeting…. you?” Sofia pointed at me, brow arched.

Serena's POVNathaniel came down the stairs with low energy. His hand gripped the railing the whole way, and I honestly wasn't sure he'd make it to the bottom without passing out again.Mason spotted him right away and every muscle in his body became tight."Wow, he's awake." his voice was loud and mocking.Nathaniel stopped on the last step.Mason pushed himself away from the window and stepped toward him. "Are you happy now? Now that you've gotten what you wanted?"Nathaniel sighed. He looked exhausted, more than his young years could even hide. "Listen. Mase, I know you're angry but—""I'm more than angry. I’m pissed. You've fucking ruined everything.""Mason—" Mrs Storm called out."No, Mom. Don't Mason me. He did this on purpose."Nathaniel's brow furrowed. "What?""You heard me." Mason turned to him, scent sharpened like daggers. He looked like he was barely holding himself back. "You've never wanted Victoria."Nathaniel's jaw clenched. "That's not true.""Don't fucking lie to m

Serena’s POV Nathaniel was still sleeping, still breathing me in deeply. His skin was almost colorless, but he nestled in every so often and that made me calm. Lying with him like this shouid have made me uncomfortable, but somehow, it stirred something deep in my heart. It felt like this was right where he belonged. Mrs Storm loomed over us, her face full of worry. Mason stood near the doorway. He hadn’t said a word since they brought Nathaniel upstairs. But he looked devastated, as if he was only holding himself together by force. When Nathaniel’s nose bumped mine and his head snuggled up under my chin, Mason made a pained sound. I looked up just in time to see his face before he looked away. Jealousy and heartbreak was written on his every feature. “I can’t do this,” he said, his voice broken. Then he turned and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him. For a few seconds no one spoke. And I lay there, unable to bring myself to choose between a dying person

  • The Omega President’s Accidental Mate   Chapter 38

Serena’s POVI was sitting on the edge of my bed, just freshly showered and still crying when I I heard a car pull to a halt in front of my house. Then there was a knock on the door. It sounded urgent. I reached the bottom of the stairs just as my mom came out. We both gave each other uneasy look. For some reason, my heart began to pick up. When my mom opened the front door, they walked in, carrying him through the doorway.Nathaniel.His arm was draped over Mason’s and another man’s shoulders. A woman whom I presume to be his mom walked besides them, her face a mask of fright. Nathaniel’s head hung forward, his dark hair wet and sticking to his face. His tall body pressed against the men and he could barely keep his head up.My stomach tightened for some reason.I didn’t understand why they brought him here. But I felt it; a sudden pull behind my ribs, quiet and insistent, as if something under my skin had

Nathaniel’s POVI slammed my door locked and leaned back against it. The room was completely dark, the curtains blocking out the moonlight. I didn’t bother turning on the lights. I just slid down to the floor with my back against the wood and stayed there, my knees pulled up, hands locked together so tightly my knuckles ached. But they couldn’t stop shaking. I felt like I was about to have a panic attack. Every single time I closed my eyes or even blinked I saw her. Serena. The girl i’d marked without consent.I dragged both hands through my hair, hard enough to hurt. “What did I do? What do I do?!!!” I demanded.Only silence answered me back, silence and the sound of my own uneven breathing. And suddenly I was filled with regret. I shouldn’t have gone there. I should have stayed home, or left when Victoria asked me to. Then none of this would have happened. I sat by the door, stewing in that regret for the rest of the ni

  • The Omega President’s Accidental Mate   Chapter 36

Serena’s POVI sat on the edge of my bed after Mom left the room, my mind a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty. What if Mason denied responsibility? What if he tried to hide from this?‘Call him!!! Now!’ my inner goddess chided. Best to rip the band-aid off fast. I sighed and picked up my phone to call him. But then I saw a text from Katie. She'd almost been hurt last night. Feeling guilty, I opened her text. Katie: Rena, I’m so sorry for what happened. I didn't know the drink was spiked. And I couldn't help you, i’m so sorry. Are you okay?I stared at her words for a long second before typing back.Me: Hey baby. It’s okay. You don’t need to apologize. I should be the one apologizing. I was reckless and you and a lot of others could have gotten hurt being close to me. So don't beat yourself up. You couldn’t have known. The three dots appeared almost immediately.Katie: i’m sorry Rena 🥲

  • The Omega President’s Accidental Mate   Chapter 35

Serena’s POVI was floating in a dream. The first thing I remembered was the heat. Not warmth. But real heat. And how it had almost swallowed me whole.I remembered music playing somewhere in the background, I remembered startled gasps and screaming. Then Mason, his arms around me, moving me up.Then nothing. After that, everything blurred. I woke slowly with a splitting headache. It was so bad I groaned and pressed my hand against my temple to quell it. And for a few seconds, I had no idea where I was. Then the fog from my sleep cleared and I recognized my bedroom. My curtains were half-open, and bright sunlight spilled across the floor.I stared at the ceiling, trying to remember what happened? Then I gasped, sitting upright. My drink had been spiked. I'd gone into an induced heat, and then Mason— I felt a sudden sharp sting around my scent gland. I lifted my fingers to brushed it and they touched something tend
