I get up and put my hands on my hips as I start walking it off, getting closer to the playground so Ash doesn’t feel like I’m abandoning him here.

“Goddamnit,” I growl under my breath, fighting the urge to just yell and release whatever this feeling is. I lift an arm to wipe my sweat off and I try to pretend it isn’t weird to be this sweaty in the middle of winter.

When I turn to the right to make sure nobody is paying me close attention, I see two big kids running into the trees. A couple of minutes later, two pup wolves come back out, chasing each other and throwing baby bites.

"Ash, come here," I call so he can see them. My son jumps down from the highest part of the tallest tower, landing on his feet like a superhero... then falling on his hands and knees with a grunt because of the momentum, "Oh, fu—shit, Ash! Do not do that again."

I don’t even know how he managed to reach that spot, but I know I have to fix that soon because the three moms around at the moment are givin

I don’t like the way they Monica and Devin were talking about Ivy. I don’t like how Remington isn’t really defending her either. She is gonna leave you, as the story mentions - who will take care of the alpha when the alpha is busy taking care of his pack? Why doesn’t he treasure her more.

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Burning Up

"I'm sorry Ash got attacked by that pup under my supervision, it was a mistake on my part," I start, turning around to look at her. Her long hair still damp from a shower and she looks very good in that shirt, but I can’t focus on that, "And I'm really, really sorry that Devin and his wife ran their mouth in front of Ash. I swear that was completely unintentional." "It's whatever, I can come up with something later," she says with a dismissive hand gesture and takes a step closer to me. I legit have to stop myself from taking a step back like a coward, "I just wanted to tell you… I don't have a set plan yet, but I really want to spend a little more t—“ "To be honest, I still don't want to talk about it," I admit, cutting her off and actually taking that step back this time. I even lift my hands to create more separation because that's what I need right now. Ivy scowls hard. "Tomorrow, then?" she asks, trying to remain calm, but I can feel I’m starting to anger her, “Can you fit

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Shit Soup

"Thank you, but there's absolutely no need, Monica," I say and hold onto Ash's head, covering his ears in case she wants to continue running her mouth, "Evan is just a pup, he's still learning how to control his own wolf. I—" "No, Remington, please allow my son to apologize," Devin insists while Monica puts her hands together in a plea and I can feel more people staring at us. Deeply. Especially when the male pup shifts back to a little boy with long straight hair that reaches his eyes. Monica rushes to cover his lower half with a hoodie, wrapping it around his waist, "Apologize, NOW." "I'm sorry for biting your son, Alpha Remington. I swear I didn't mean to do it too hard, I was just playing." "We absolutely accept your apology, Evan," I say and place a hand on his shoulder, making sure to give him a calming smile, "I know you didn't mean to take it too far. And Ashton is fine... right, buddy?" "Yes, I think," Ash moves away from my chest to examine his arm. I wipe the blood

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Save It

Ashton basically jumps out of my car as soon as we arrive to the park like he can’t wait another second. The park is in the middle of the biggest residential area and, therefore, always full of people. There's tall, full trees, open trails for people who like to run and a huge playground in the middle for the kids. My Council was not happy about how much money I dropped here, but I didn’t care. "Holy shit," Ash lets out when he sees the huge jungle gym I had installed there. I had my own future kid in mind when I did this, so having Ash look at it with excitement feels really nice. "You like it?" I ask when I reach his side, the boy nods with enthusiasm, almost vibrating. "Can we race there?" he asks, getting ready to start running. My first instinct is to say yes and run with him, but I look around. There's a lot of people here and they're already looking, recognizing me. I lift my hand to greet some of them. "Not right now, buddy. We'll race another time," I promise. Ash looks

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Motherless

To be honest, a huge part of me wants to be a bitch and tell him he can’t take my son, but I guess I’m maturing and adulting for real because instead of that, I take a breath to calm myself down and decide to put our issues aside for later. If there’s one thing I don’t want to affect my family, is political bullshit. "Do you want me to turn Ashton into Ashley so you don't have to deal with people asking about him yet?" I murmur, completely dropping the other subject. Remington lifts his eyebrows as if he’s surprised. He thinks about for one second and then says no, "Are you sure?""Yes. My pack has to find out about his existence at some point anyway," he responds, shrugging, "So, can I take him out?""This is very hard for me, Rem, but I'm mature and willing to compromise," I start. Remington gives me another sad smile, "But I’m also trying to look out for MY pack, so… if you agree to let the rogue-omegas free, you can have that day with Ash."I know I’m bringing back the subject I

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   In There

When I walk inside the room, I see Ash and Cassie sitting on the floor in front of the TV, playing video games. They don't even turn to look at me because they're so into it. "Hey," Cassie says, just to acknowledge me, but she doesn't stop pushing the buttons, "How was it? All good?" I sigh and take off my shoes to go straight for the bed. I face-plant there. "Yes and no. Cass, it's kind of a big deal, can you... stop that for a second?" I ask and then wait as they finish their little game. Ash comes to give me a quick hug and Cassie sits down next to me, “Go play with your toys, Ash. We’re going to have a boring adult conversation.” He nods and goes to the corner of the room where all his stuff is and I start to tell Cassie everything. How the rogues knew about me before the Winter Ball and how they started the preparations to get in the pack before I even considered returning here. About the weird pull I feel towards that big bearded rogue and how my wolf is pushing me t
