{ Ivy } "Hello, Miss Doreen," one of the guards says the second he sees me walking inside the police station like I own the place. I smile at him, ignoring his clear panic, "Can I help you?" "Hello, Officer... Walker," I say, reading his plaque, "Alpha Remington sent me here again. He's over at the rogue camp, checking on the omegas there, so I'm in charge of the omegas here. We're a team. A love team, you know he's my fated mate, right? We even have a kid together and all. I birthed the next Alpha, you're welcome for that." "Wait, wait, Miss Doreen..." he follows me as I walk right to the female cells again, not waiting for his approval because I'm pretty sure he would've questioned me or maybe even prohibited me from walking in, "Let me call Alpha Remington and check." "What? You're doubting me?" I ask, turning to him with an offended pout. He gulps and opens his mouth like a fish for a few seconds, unsure of what to say, "I just said I'm your fated Luna and you treat me lik
The rogues were very open about the land they're occupying, so I head there as soon as I leave Felix’s house. It was two and a half hours from Felix’s pack, but it’s only twenty minutes from my pack by car, around fifteen running in wolf form and only about ten minutes away from one of the tunnel entrances my dumbass grandfather left out there, for all to see. The land they're occupying is about two acres of open, clean space. Like I told the rogues, it's not 'free' land, it's there in case one of our packs ever needs it. But, at this point, it only serves as a 'nice gesture' among the allies to show we're willing to share. "They made themselves right at home," my beta murmurs as we get closer and see what they've done here. They have camping gear scattered all around, with tarps stretched tight between trees and stakes for shade. I can see two wolves lying on the ground, bellies up to the sun. Very comfy rogues. There’s also a couple of women chatting and laughing as they coo
{ Remington } After getting my ass burned by my mate yesterday, I spent the rest of the day locked up in my office, ignoring everyone and everything. My door was knocked around a hundred times, but I didn't open, not once. I was not in the mood to deal with life. But as soon as I open my eyes this morning, I know I can't continue ignoring life. I have to deal with it whether I want to or not. The first order of business is driving to Felix's pack for the Alpha Meeting. I can’t have those Alphas in my territory while Ivy is there. Not when I know this Alliance might be the new enemy against her. I don't waste any time, as soon as everyone is seated around the round table, I start telling them everything I know about the rogue-omega union and about Ivy. The way they react is exactly why I didn't have this meeting in my own pack. "Please, gentlemen, settle down," I beg, but they don't comply. They're talking all over each other, feeding each-other's fears. They all swear Ivy i
"Let me speak and you’ll see. I grew up in this pack and I lived in this house for a year... and why? Because I met Remington," I say before he asks, "Remington is my fated mate. You remember what that is?" Ash's face gets hard and he looks up with nothing but shock, then he nods. "You said if I found my fated mate, I would marry them," he murmurs, lifting a hand to bite on his nail as he thinks it over, "So how come you're not married to him? Did you marry my father instead?" He's so close to the truth, I bet he could reach it all by himself at some point, but I just sigh and walk to sit on his side. "Ash," I grab his hand and pull it out of his mouth. He gives me lost blue eyes, "Remington is your father. We never got married, but we had you anyway. I left him here to go live somewhere else and never returned... until now. But yeah, your father is here, his name is Remington Silvan and you just spent an afternoon with him." Ashton stays in silence for two minutes. They fe
"No, no," Ivy whispers, but I can smell the guilt in her, "I really didn't, Rem. I... come on, don't look at me that way." I don't know how I'm looking at her, but I move my eyes away. I don't understand this, therefore, I’m fucking terrified. Whatever she was doing to me? It was painful. More painful than anything I've ever felt before, like she was boiling my insides. "Rem," she whispers, taking a step closer. I take two back, "I swear it wasn't me." "Right. But thank god it stopped all of a sudden when I called you out," I murmur, finding her guilty eyes again, "What a coincidence..." "IT WASN'T ME!" she yells, but I lift a hand to stop her, "My wolf is telling me she would never hurt you, not even a little. It must be something else." "Lower your voice," I order in a growl. She’s never understood that sound travels very easily in this house and there’s a lot of nosy ears around, "The Council is lurking around and if they hear this, they will make a revolution against
"I'm sorry Ash got attacked by that pup under my supervision, it was a mistake on my part," I start, turning around to look at her. Her long hair still damp from a shower and she looks very good in that shirt, but I can’t focus on that, "And I'm really, really sorry that Devin and his wife ran their mouth in front of Ash. I swear that was completely unintentional." "It's whatever, I can come up with something later," she says with a dismissive hand gesture and takes a step closer to me. I legit have to stop myself from taking a step back like a coward, "I just wanted to tell you… I don't have a set plan yet, but I really want to spend a little more t—“ "To be honest, I still don't want to talk about it," I admit, cutting her off and actually taking that step back this time. I even lift my hands to create more separation because that's what I need right now. Ivy scowls hard. "Tomorrow, then?" she asks, trying to remain calm, but I can feel I’m starting to anger her, “Can you fit
