{ Remington }

Nothing I do is impulsive. Ever. I always need to ponder all available options for a while before I take the most convenient one… except when it comes to Ivy Doreen, of course.

Five foot four at most, long and shiny black hair and the biggest, most breathtaking cobalt blue eyes. She looks just as beautiful today as she did the last time I saw her, if not more. She’s not a scrawny teen anymore, she looks healthier and stronger. And just a tiny bit older. A real woman now.

But the second I looked into her eyes, every memory I’ve been repressing came back to me. Memories of simpler times, when we were kids in love.

And I honestly thought the person I used to be for her was long gone, but apparently, it’s not.

I still have tunnel vision when it comes to her. I still make mistakes and shut my brain off. I still allow her to take control of me, even seven years later.

That’s not a good thing. Not at all.

"... Remington?" a male voice asks, pulling me out of my tho

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Out Of It

    "We're surrendering to you, Ivy Doreen," the biggest rogue says, bowing his head to me respectfully. The other rogues follow after him, even the wolves. I gulp, feeling something stir low in my belly, "We mean no harm to you or anyone else in this pack. The only reason we approached you this way is because you're hard to track down. All we want is a conversation." "No," Remington responds for me, ending the distance I created until he reaches me again and grabs me by the arm one more time, just to keep me in place, as if he’s scared I’ll run to the rogues again, "You have nothing to say t—" "Can you stop? They're being very reasonable and respectful right now," I growl through my teeth and snatch my arm out of his hand, "Before I agree to anything, I want to know what's going on with the omegas you kidnapped.“ "No omega has been kidnapped, nor harmed. Not by us," the bearded one responds. I frown and turn to lock eyes with Rem for one second to share my confusion, "They chose to

    Tatiana's mouth is so wide open, I could fit my whole fist in there. Grandmother Elena looks like she's finally going to kick the bucket, but it's Viktor who breaks the awkward silence first. "Is she Remington's daughter?" He asks, looking right at me with the same face my mate has, except older and disfigured with hate. I have no way out of this one, so I just nod and turn to Sierra. She legit falls to the ground as if her legs have failed her, with wet eyes and a shocked face. Tatiana is the one who goes to help her, "Does he know?" "Yes," I respond without further explanation and finally crouch down to pull Ash's fingers out of his mouth, then I grab his face and pull him closer to me so I can kiss his cheek, "You know damn well I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, I’m a badass. This will be over soon and we'll finally leave this pack." Tatiana is shaking her head in horror, comforting her drama queen of a daughter-in-law. I roll my eyes at the sight and decide to ignore them.

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Just Because

    "What made you stop?" Ashton complains when I finally reach him. He's scowling hard, "You made it way too easy this time." "I thought I heard something," I say, reaching to undo his scowl with my hand, then I grab his nose between my fingers and pull on it like when he was a baby, making him laugh, "Let's race again, this time I won't let you win. To the tree!" I take off running before he even knows what's going on and when I reach the nearest tree one minute later he starts complaining even more about me cheating. I laugh and continue racing him back and forth for a while, trying to avoid Cassie's scared energy, but it's too loud. It gets worse every second, "What is it, Cass?" "We should just go back inside," she says. My scaredy-cat, she's sitting in the fountain with a worried expression, "Everything feels weird. And look... there's some creep watching us." My head turns immediately at the mention of a threat and I lock eyes with none other than fucking Felicia. The stalk

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Split

    I open the door to my office and walk straight to the map of the Silvan territory, then I stare at the edges, wondering how the fuck did this happen. All the borders are covered. I know for a fact I haven’t missed anything, not a single inch. I have so many men patrolling the edges, it’s borderline ridiculous. This has to be a bad joke on me. There hasn’t been a breach in Silvan territory since my grandfather’s time, thirty-something years ago, before I was even born. Growing up, I believed we were special. That this pack was untouchable. Especially against rogues... because they're supposed to be wild. Unorganized. Messy. Everything we are not. But sneaking in without us noticing is not messy. It's either extremely intelligent work or... someone in the inside is helping them. Someone in my pack is a traitor. "Alpha Remington," a voice says, entering my office without knocking, because I left the door open. It's Nolan, one of the guards. He shouldn't be inside. "What is it?" I

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Let’s Get Her

    Cassie is awake now, but Ash is still too distracted by the video game he’s playing to even turn to look at me. "Hey, did you hear that?" I ask, sitting down next to my bestie. "I heard something, but I couldn't make it out... was it Remington?" Cassie asks with a yawn, I nod. "He did a bunch of really good stuff," I murmur and show the papers to her before throwing them on the nightstand so I can sign whatever I need to sign later, "Like, so good, I think I'll be able to pay you for all the free housing you've given us. Plus a bonus." Her eyes open really wide and she asks me to explain, but I tell her we can talk about it tomorrow. Right now, I need her to kindly evacuate with my son. Fifteen minutes later as I'm quickly picking up the mess we had here, the door opens and Remington walks in wearing a white cotton shirt and gym shorts. And his hair is damp, as if he took a quick shower before coming here. "Sorry for the mess," I murmur, giving up on the cleaning since h

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Fixing It

    "Hm. What is this?" I ask, starting to read. When I reach the important part, I stop and look back up at him, "Divorce." "That's not all," he says and urges me to continue, so I turn to the next paper, "In case you don't understand, that's me leaving everything in Ash's name. His legal name is Ashton Tate Doreen, right?" "Ashton Tate Doreen," I repeat and nod as I read my son's name in this document. There's a lot of '100%' here, "What if you have more kids?" "Without you, I won't," he easily responds. I gulp and look up again, trying not to show how much I liked hearing that, "I'll get rid of poor Sierra before she loses whatever’s left of her mind. I'm more than certain she is not pregnant, since we haven't had sex in over five months. After her, I won't take another wife, so... no more kids." "You can make a kid without a wife.” "I doubt it," he responds, "It's not like I'm interested in sex if it isn't with you." What a nice thought. My heart is eager to believe it, but
