MasukI stand staring at the two of them, waiting for a reply. Despite knowing it will only make me feel belittled and will hurt me more, I still want to hear whatever they are going to say.
“Stop being too full of yourself.” Hannah laughed so hard that it rang in my ears. “That child of yours is not innocent. That is a fruit of cheating.” She whispered.
What is she talking about? I never went to bed with anyone!
“I am the one who is… cheating?” I suddenly questioned the things I was doing.
“Haven’t you followed yet? Had you not seduced the alpha, you wouldn’t have been driven out of my mansion, you could have remained as my maid. And to be precise, you shouldn’t be carrying a child that would soon be considered as a fruit of treason,” she said.
“But I cannot blame you. Keep it for all you want, I do not care,” she claimed.
I turned my gaze at Cedrick who was lost in thoughts and then looked at me like I was nothing.
I am being blamed… again? And my child, who for loving affection of the goddess, has nothing to do with this, is being forced to be taken out of my womb?
I wiped my tears. “So it is clear now? It isn’t just me who is being rejected but my child as well?” I asked.
“I will never be able to swallow the fact that I have a child in an omega, the most disgusting person I have ever encountered. The press? They will all be mad at me. My family will kill you once they find out,” he said.
“Why do you care if they kill me?” I smiled through all the painful words he had thrown at me. “It’s not like you’ll not be delighted seeing me get killed.” I laughed.
She grabbed my hands relentlessly, not caring whether it would hurt me or not. “Cedrick cannot afford such disgrace, you idiot,” she spitefully whispered while tightening her grip on my arms.
“Let go of her.” A cold voice lingered on the sides of the room. I stared behind me only to see the man who had saved me the night I was thrown away from the beta’s mansion.
A glimmer of hope lighted my eyes as I realized he might be the answer to my needs. He… might help me keep this child within me.
“Tyrone? Long time no see.” The Alpha‘s face suddenly brightened as it was filled with sarcastic anticipation.
Do they know one another? Why do I feel like there is a deep connection between them and I need to know more?
“I did not expect to see you here at all,” Cedrick said as he grabbed Hannah’s hand that was hurting me and intertwined it with his. I looked away with an emotional pang on my chest.
Cold blood rushed back into my limbs as I felt the hands of the stranger sliding into my waistline. I gulped hard as I kept it close to me.
“I am just here to assist her in her pregnancy,” Tyrone said, referring to me. I could see how Hannah’s face instantly became bitter as she thought of reasons why this man was beside me.
“Get the fuck out of my matters, Tyrone. She’s not your concern,” the alpha said as he conversed with the man.
Why do I feel like there is a personal rivalry between the two of them? The way Hannah turned pale when she saw him and the way everything became tense as soon as he arrived explains something like there is a huge boundary between the two of them.
“Matter? Not when I am taking her here so I can take care of my unborn child,” Tyrone said, putting a huge emphasis on the word child so Cedrick would back down.
“The fuck are you talking about?” Cedrick exclaimed as he laughed hysterically. “You? Of all people? Would you choose this woman as your wife? I did not know that the strongest beta of Blood Moon pack could be so naïve.” His mocking tone of voice was ringing in both sides of my ears.
Strongest beta… could it be that my savior is no other than… the number one rival of Cedrick in terms of power?!
“And what about it? Have I questioned your relationship with the late weak beta?” Tyrone mocked Hannah’s family.
He held me tight and had me face my back. “We are leaving.” He formally bid his goodbye.
“I know that baby is mine. We spent our time together, I knew for sure that it was the product of our lustful desire,” Cedrick claimed which made my mind shiver.
“Bold of you to assume it’s yours. Did you happen to fuck your girlfriend while thinking of my woman?” Tyrone stated.
Cedrick's face soured as he heard Tyrone's words. He turned to look at me, probably thinking I would defend him as well.
I can see how he is waiting for me to speak up and say that the baby is his.
Tyrone did not wait for the argument that the alpha might throw again and instead held me tight as we made our way out of the room.
He stopped walking and turned around again with a huge mocking smile on his lips. “Ohh, Hannah, right?” He laughed.
“Stay away from Eloise if you want to keep those hands of yours.” He threatened. “Focus on your man first, who knows which girl he's fucking in his mind right now.”
I grabbed his hands and whispered, “Let's go.” As I saw Hannah's expression turned to anger.
He laughed as we made our way out. “Alright, Hon.”
On our way to the empty hallways, he moved close to me. “Keep that baby,” he mumbled.
Confusion filled my mind as I thought of questions to ask him. “Why?” That is all I ever mouthed.
“I need an heir. The flesh and blood of an alpha lingers inside you. That baby? It will surely be my fortune,” he whispered in my ears.
Am I picking up the right thing? Is he just going to use the child inside me?
What is Tyrone planning to do?
Eloise' POVThe grand hall of the Luna’s wing was filled with stacks of parchment, scrolls of decrees, and records dating back to the years before my disappearance. I exhaled, rubbing my temples as I stared down at the overwhelming workload before me.I had expected my first day as Luna to be a ceremony of sorts, a symbolic acceptance of my role. But the moment I took my place beside my brother, Alpha Trent, the reality of leadership sank its claws into me.I thought it was just a mere name and I don't have so much burden at my back. However, I realized that there were so many things that needs to be tend to and there would be no more break for me.Luckily enough, I do not have to look over to my son because the maids are doing a great job taking care of him. They are so nice and they've been doing the best for him. I am just happy that I am no longer burdened.Besides, I am also getting the right amount of knowledge I should have. They have been constantly telling me about everything
Eloise' POVThe air was thick with anticipation as the grand gates of the Dawning Red Pack swung open before me. My heart pounded against my ribs, my hands clenched tightly around the folds of my cloak as I stepped forward.I can remember everything now. I can remember my past and my childhood that was taken away from me just so I could be safe. My life... how I enjoyed my prime just playing with my uncle and my brother.I can remember what happened during that night. How my mother made sure that I will be safe from all the harm even if it means that I will not be living the life she had secured for me.I can recall how scared I was knowing I'll be far from my home. And now that I have returned... it feels odd yet I am happy. It had been years since I had last stood on this land, years of exile, of loneliness, of survival. And yet, as soon as my feet touched the soil of my ancestral home, a warmth spread through my veins—something ancient and familiar awakening inside me.I knew this
Cedrick's POVI immediately went to Tyrone and barged inside his mansion as I have made conclusions. I knew he went over that farm before and I cannot be mistaken. Judging from how I can hear the townsfolk talk about how there was a powerful wolf who visited them, I cannot lose my track of the truth."Have you seen Eloise?" I skipped the greetings knowing my agenda. I do not need to make him feel like opening up with me because we are not friends to be doing that. Tyrone looked at me with his empty eyes. On his side was Hannah whose head was bowed down, probably because she is still embarrassed about the revelations which I have moved on from. The door behind me opened and I saw Claude entering the room. He smiled at me and I am still happy that the bond between us did not changed at all. He still sees me as his father and although I know we are never of one blood, I do not want to hold that against him. After all, his parents fault are not his. "What are you doing here, father?" h
Cedrick's POVThe air in my territory carried an unusual tension, whispers of an unfamiliar presence stirring among my people. My Beta had informed me earlier that Alpha Trent of the Dawning Red Pack had crossed into my land, heading toward the mountains with a handful of wolves.Though I am still not cool with what Tyrone did to me and how he had stolen my wife and my potential heir, I cannot ignore the fact that he is doing his job as a beta of this pack and he had been regulating the land. The news also unsettled me. Why would an Alpha, especially one I had little to no dealings with, venture into my territory? What was he searching for?I stood at the balcony of my office, gazing toward the distant mountains where the sun bathed the peaks in golden hues. Something was bothering me—a strange sense of unease I couldn't quite place. For years, I had believed that Eloise had betrayed me, stolen from me, and vanished into the night like a coward. My mother’s words had fueled my anger,
Servano's POVThe days leading up to our departure felt like a storm gathering on the horizon. I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were on the verge of something that would irrevocably change the course of everything. But no matter how much I tried to prepare myself, the tightness in my chest told me that I wasn’t ready for what was to come.Trent, ever determined, had mobilized the pack with the precision of a general. The armies were ready, the warriors prepared to march. They would move swiftly and without hesitation, the pack's bloodlust already beginning to stir. My nephew was a man of honor, but beneath that honor, I could see the fire of a leader desperate to restore his pack, to claim what he believed was his by right. We stood side by side at the edge of the forest, the early morning mist still clinging to the trees. The sound of the pack’s boots hitting the earth was like the beating of a war drum, a rhythm that seemed to echo in my bones."Ready?" Trent asked, his voice st
Servano's POVThe forest air hung heavily around me, thick with the smell of pine, damp earth, and something else—something that made the hairs on the back of my neck rise. I could feel it, the tension of destiny stirring in the very ground beneath my boots. The Dawning Red pack had been broken for so long, lost in the folds of time, and yet here I was, carrying a truth so heavy, so deeply entwined with blood and bone, that I wasn’t sure if I was ready to face it.Eloise, the lost Luna, my niece, was alive. It had taken years of searching, of tracing faint trails left in the wake of her absence, but I had found her. In the quiet countryside, where the world seemed to forget its troubles, she had lived a simple life. A peaceful life. The life I had wanted for her, far from the violence and the expectations of the pack. But that peace would be shattered now. The news I carried to Alpha Trent would ensure that.As I approached the stone building at the edge of Trent’s territory, the wind
