Chapter 42
Charles woke up the next day to the noise of his ringing phone. He took it from the side table and answered the call without opening his eyes.
“Hello?” He said in a hoarse voice.
“Mr. Davidson, I have the results already of the investigation about the embezzlement issue,” Jayson said on the other end of the line.
Charles’s soul suddenly awakened. He has been waiting for the result for more than a week already.
“Go on.” He said as he held his aching head while sitting on his bed.
“I identified the individuals who reported Ms. Wilson and found out that one of them resigned from the company one month after the issue. I suspected that something was wrong so I searched for her location. At first, she avoided the topic as she was afraid of the consequences but since she felt guilty, she divulged the truth later on.
