Lyra's POV

"Lyra!"

Ronan lunged toward me.

The arrow whistled through the air.

At the last second, Rowan shoved me to the ground.

The arrow slammed into the stone wall behind us with a loud crack.

"Move!" Rowan shouted.

A second arrow flew.

Ronan drew his sword and knocked it aside before it could reach us.

"Get her out of here!" he barked.

The warriors behind him looked stunned.

"But, Beta—"

"That's an order!"

No one argued.

The masked archer disappeared from the rooftop before anyone could ch

"Dad?"The word barely left Lyra's mouth. The man standing beside Selena slowly stepped into the torchlight. He was older.Much older than the father Lyra remembered. His hair was streaked with gray, his face thinner, and deep lines marked the corners of his eyes. But his eyes...Those eyes hadn't changed.Lyra knew them. She had seen them in her childhood dreams for fifteen years."Papa?"His face crumpled."Lyra..."That single word shattered the last piece of doubt inside her.She ran toward him.But before she could reach him, Rowan caught her around the waist."Don't!""Let me go!"Lyra fought against his grip."That's my father!"Rowan tightened his hold."Something isn't right.""He's alive!""I know.""Then let me go!"Her voice echoed through the chamber. Her father watched her struggle, tears filling his eyes."Lyra..."She stopped fighting. For a moment, father and daughter simply stared at each other.Fifteen years.Fifteen years of grief stood between them. Finally, Rowan

"Lyra..."The voice echoed through the tomb.Lyra froze.Every part of her body recognized it before her mind could process what she was hearing. Her father's voice. The voice she'd spent fifteen years trying to remember. The voice she'd heard in her dreams. The voice she'd cried for when she was a child. She took a step toward the darkness."Wait."Rowan caught her arm.Lyra turned sharply."Let me go.""We don't know who's in there."She pulled herself free."That's my father.""Lyra—""I know his voice."There was no hesitation in her words.Kael stepped beside her."Then we go together."Lyra looked at him. There was pain in his eyes, but she couldn't allow herself to be distracted by it."You don't get to decide that anymore."Kael's expression fell.He nodded slowly."Then I follow."Lyra didn't answer. She turned toward the darkness. And walked inside.---The tomb was enormous. The walls stretched high above them, disappearing into shadows.Ancient carvings covered every surfa

The room went completely silent.Rain hammered against the wooden walls of the abandoned guard station, and the wind howled through the mountains, but Lyra barely heard any of it.All she could hear was the voice outside."Lyra... open the door."Her heart pounded so hard that it hurt. For fifteen years, she had imagined this moment. She had imagined seeing her father again, hearing his voice, asking him why he left her behind. But now that it seemed possible, fear wrapped itself around her chest.Kael stepped in front of her, his hand tightening around his sword."Stay back."Lyra grabbed his arm immediately."No."He turned to her, his face tense. "Lyra, we don't know who's out there."Tears filled her eyes as she shook her head."That's my father."Across the room, Rowan had gone pale. Cassius had already drawn his sword, while Ronan quietly moved toward the window, trying to see through the storm outside.Another knock echoed through the station.Knock. Knock. Knock."Please, Lyra

The tunnel trembled beneath their feet, but for a few seconds, nobody moved.Lyra stared at the silver emblem in her hand, barely noticing the dust falling around her. Moonlight reflected off the metal, illuminating the symbol engraved at its center: the Ashbourne wolf, surrounded by a crescent moon and a crown.Beside her, Kael had gone completely pale.Ronan shook his head slowly, his voice almost a whisper."That's impossible."Lyra looked up at them, confusion and fear twisting inside her."What is it?"Kael stepped forward and carefully took the crest from her trembling fingers. He turned it over, his expression growing darker with every second."It belonged to my grandfather," he said quietly."Alpha Magnus Ashbourne."Lyra frowned. "The Alpha who died twenty years ago?"Kael nodded."There was only one royal crest in the entire pack. It was buried with him."A loud rumble echoed through the tunnel, but no one reacted.Rowan stepped closer, his eyes fixed on the emblem."Then wh

The tunnel went silent. For a few seconds, no one moved. No one breathed.Lyra stared at the bloodstained note trembling in her hands, reading the same four words over and over again.Your father is alive. Her vision blurred. It had to be a lie.It had to be.For fifteen years, she had carried the weight of his death. She had stood beside his grave as a child, listening to the whispers of the pack. She had spent countless nights crying herself to sleep, wondering why he had abandoned her.And now, some stranger expected her to believe that everything she knew was wrong."Lyra..."Kael's voice was soft, careful. She immediately stepped away from him, clutching the note against her chest."No."Her voice cracked."Don't say anything."Kael froze.Tears rolled down Lyra's cheeks as she shook her head."I saw him die."The words barely escaped her lips."I stood at his grave."Rowan's face had gone completely pale. For the first time since Lyra had met him again, he looked lost.Even he d

"Lyra!"The sound of Kael's voice echoed through the tunnel, bouncing off the stone walls. For a moment, Lyra forgot where she was.Forgot about the wolves.Forgot about Cassius and Rowan.Forgot about the cold air filling her lungs. All she could hear was him.For ten years, Kael's voice had been her safe place. It had comforted her after nightmares, made her laugh on her darkest days, and promised her that no matter what happened, she would never be alone. Then, in a single night, that same voice had sentenced her to a prison cell.Without realizing it, she took a step forward.Rowan's hand wrapped around her arm, stopping her."Don't."Lyra turned to him, confused. "Kael's here."Rowan's expression hardened."That doesn't mean he's here to save you.""He wouldn't hurt me."The words left her mouth automatically, but even as she said them, doubt crept into her heart.Rowan looked at the bruises still visible on her wrists."Are you sure about that?"Lyra couldn't answer.Because the
