Chapter 3

Author: Fierce Sleeping Dog
Harvey froze for two seconds before bursting out laughing. The people behind him doubled over with laughter.

"Did he get scared out of his mind?"

"Go easy on Harvey? Does he think he's some university administrator?"

"He probably couldn't even get into this school. He just sneaked in so he could play the big shot."

Harvey wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes. "Fine. Since you don't know your place, I'll show you what happens when you cross me."

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Aunt Faye, someone is giving me trouble at the south gate. Come quickly, or this guy might think he runs the place."

He hung up and looked at me provocatively. "My aunt will be here in five minutes. You can still kneel and apologize."

I ignored him.

There were 15 minutes left before the ceremony. My secretary and the university administrators should have already arrived at the auditorium. Once they realized they couldn't reach me, they'd come looking for me soon.

Less than five minutes later, a black sedan pulled over by the curb. A stern-looking woman in a business suit strode toward us. The head of student affairs, Paul Foster, and two academic counsellors followed close behind her.

Harvey ran over to her, putting on an aggrieved expression. "You're here at last, Aunt Faye! If you hadn't come, he would've gotten away with bullying me."

When Faye saw the red marks around his wrist, her expression turned grim. "Who did this?"

Harvey pointed at me. "Him. He wore a fake designer suit and claimed I was the one wearing a knockoff. Then, he insulted the Jetson family. When my bodyguards tried to get him to leave, he attacked them. He even threatened to have me expelled."

Faye looked up at me.

She visibly froze for a moment. She'd taken the day off yesterday, so she didn't attend the online university administration meeting. The documents related to my appointment were internal, so she hadn't seen my photo either.

She looked me over several times before speaking in a stern voice. "Are you a student here?"

I replied, "No."

"Then why are you on campus?"

"To take up my new position."

She looked as if she'd just heard the funniest joke. "Take up a new position? What position could you possibly be taking?"

I said evenly, "You'll find out soon enough."

Faye ran out of patience. "I don't care why you sneaked onto campus or what you're trying to accomplish. You assaulted someone on university property and disrupted the first day of class. You're coming with me to the security office for questioning."

I looked at the man lying on the ground and said, "They're wearing uniforms from a private security company, and the Jetson family pays their salaries. Since when are they university employees?"

Faye was momentarily speechless.

Paul quickly stepped forward and argued, "Don't try to change the subject. Even if they weren't university employees, you still assaulted them. That's a fact."

I countered, "Then the security footage should show that they attacked me first."

Paul's expression turned frosty. "The cameras weren't working."

I glanced at the security camera rotating above us. "I haven't even said which camera footage I was talking about. How did you know it wasn't working?"

Paul's face fell slightly.

The students around us began whispering. "He's right. He never even said which camera."

"Mr. Allen wouldn't let anyone check the footage either."

"Could there really be something they're hiding?"

Faye shouted angrily, "Why are all of you still standing around? Get to your orientation sessions!"

The students were intimidated by her tone, but no one left. If anything, the crowd watching the spectacle only grew larger.

Faye turned her attention back to me. "Listen here. I'm giving you one last chance. Apologize to Harvey and pay for the bodyguard's medical expenses. Do that, and we'll let this go."

I disagreed, saying, "I'm not the one who needs to apologize."

"Still being stubborn, huh?" Faye responded disdainfully.

She pointed at the two security guards and barked, "Take him away."

The two men grabbed my arms from either side. I didn't struggle.

I only gave them a cold warning. "Think carefully before you put your hands on me."

The business partners who had once crowded around the Jetson family began pulling their investments one after another.Olivia called me mo

Before I could respond to Will's words, Harvey broke down first. He screamed, "No! There can only be one sole heir in the Jetson family!"Olivia raised her hand and slapped him again. "Have you not caused enough trouble already? Apologize to Benjamin right now!"Harvey stared at her in disbelief. "Mom, he's the one who got Aunt Faye suspended and cost our family Gerber Group's project. Why do you want me to apologize to him?""Kneel!" Olivia's voice rang out sharply.Half an hour ago, Harvey had forced me to kneel in front of everyone. Now, he was the one being ordered to kneel. He stood frozen in place, and his entire body shook. "I'm not kneeling. I'm your son. He's nothing but a stranger who happens to share your blood!"Olivia raised her hand, but this time she stopped herself. There was little parental anguish in her eyes. Instead, she looked anxious about the project that had just been canceled.Gerber Group's eastern district project could determine whether the Jetson fa

I almost laughed when I heard Olivia's words.I said, "Ten years ago, you gave me five million dollars and told me not to reveal who I really was."Her face fell instantly.Everyone around us perked up their ears.Olivia cut me off in a low voice, "Family matters can wait until we get home. There are too many people here. Don't give outsiders something to gossip about.""I have no family matters to discuss with you, Mrs. Jetson," I said indifferently.Harvey stared at the two of us in confusion. "Mom, who is he?"Olivia didn't answer. He rushed over and grabbed Will's arm. "Are you two hiding something from me?"Will's face had gone pale. He said, "Harvey, just come home with us for now. We'll talk about everything there."Harvey shook Will's arm away and yelled, "No! Tell me right now! Who the hell is he?"Olivia raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face. "Shut up!"Harvey clutched his cheek, completely stunned. "You hit me? You've never hit me before."Tears r

Yara frowned and asked, "Who told you Gerber Group was going to partner with the Jetson family?"Harvey replied, "My mom did."In a dismissive tone, Yara shot back, "Then go home and ask her if she was dreaming."That response caused Harvey to pull a long face.Yara took the documents from her legal team. "Ten minutes ago, Gerber Group terminated its evaluation of every project involving Jetson Group. In addition, we've submitted evidence of Jetson Group's alleged falsification of credentials and violations of bidding regulations to the authorities."Harvey exclaimed, "That's impossible!"Yara sneered, "What's impossible? If your family dared to lay a hand on my teacher, you should have known there would be consequences."After saying that, she looked at me. "Are you satisfied with how I handled it?"I shook my head. "Jolmont University will deal with its own problems."Still wearing Rory's jacket over my shoulders, I walked up to Faye. "You said you were going to expel me. Ar

Everyone's eyes turned toward Harvey. He instinctively covered the hem of his suit.Laughter rippled through the crowd."So he was the one wearing the fake!""He ruined the president's 4.8-million-dollar suit over a knockoff.""And he demanded the other person take off their clothes just now. That's unbelievable.""He's embarrassed himself in front of the entire country."Each remark landed on Harvey like tight slaps across the face. His face flushed as he shouted at the students watching. "What are you laughing at? Nobody's allowed to laugh! The Jetson family donated 30 million dollars to this university. What gives you the right to laugh at me?"I took a document from Rory. "Are you referring to this donation agreement?"Harvey saw Jetson Group's seal and his expression shifted. "So what if it is?"In front of everyone, I tore the agreement in half. The sound of the paper ripping could be heard clearly in the livestream.I announced, "Effective immediately, Jolmont Univers

Everyone's eyes immediately turned toward Faye. Her face went deathly pale, and her lips trembled. She stuttered, "I-It was a misunderstanding. This was all a misunderstanding! I-I didn't know he… I didn't know Mr. Duvall would be coming through the south gate today."I looked at her. "So because you didn't know who I was, you thought it was okay to let them beat me up? If I'd been an ordinary student with no connections, would I have had no choice but to kneel today?"Cold sweat broke out across Faye's forehead. "I received a report saying that an outsider had sneaked onto campus and was causing trouble. I was only trying to maintain order on the first day of classes."I countered, "Does maintaining order require destroying my phone, forcibly searching my bag, ripping my clothes, and making me kneel?"Faye immediately pointed at Herbert. "I never told them to do that! He was acting on his own!"Herbert's legs nearly gave out, and he almost collapsed to the ground. "Ms. Zaslow, b
