TALON

"What? Candace is dead?" I shot up to my feet.

One of Candace's coven members, Jamel had come with the news. Candace who had been fine just a few days ago had suddenly turned up dead out of the ordinary. No physical bites, no injuries.

"Has your coven gotten into any trouble lately?" Kael asked, "Has everyone been chasing you?"

Jamel shook his head quickly, his eyes wide and nervous.

“No… nothing like that. We’ve kept to ourselves. No fights, no spells gone wrong. She just collapsed. When we found her, it was already too late.” His voice cracked at the end, and I could feel the weight of his grief pressing against the room.

Kael and Jett exchanged a look. That silent kind of look that said this isn’t normal.

A chill crawled up my spine. Candace wasn’t weak for a witch. She wasn’t careless either. For her to die without a mark, without a single sign, something darker was at play here.

“Where is she now?” I asked, my voice sharper than I intended.

Steele's shoulder clamped around mine as he wrapped his jacket around me. He was being a gentleman and I could see it. Every move he made was done with practiced charm, probably from experience of his ex girlfriends. The theater lights dimmed, washing everything in soft shadows but even then, I could feel his eyes lingering on me instead of the screen. My wolf stirred beneath my skin, restless. Her pacing heartbeat throbbed in my chest, louder than the surround sound of the movie. Every time Steele leaned closer, my body stiffened, like something deep inside me wanted to push him away. “You’re cold,” he whispered, adjusting the jacket tighter around me. “I’m fine,” I muttered, forcing a small smile. My fingers dug into the popcorn tub between us, pretending to care about the buttery kernels instead of the way my insides twisted. Steele chuckled softly, his arm brushing against mine. “You don’t always have to act tough, Chloe. At least when you're with me." His words should

  • The Overweight Omega and Her Three Knights    Aurelia's Return (2)

CHLOE Walking into the Academy felt different with Aurelia beside me. Heads turned the moment we stepped through the front doors. Whispers rose and fell like waves, curious eyes flicking toward the girl at my side. To them, she was just a stranger. Tall, striking, the kind of beautiful that made people stop mid-step. Her hair caught the morning light, her features sharp and almost too perfect, like she’d stepped out of a painting. I wanted to smile and shout, She’s mine. She’s my best friend. But I couldn’t. They weren’t supposed to know. “Who’s the new girl?” someone muttered behind us. “Transfer student?” another guessed. “Wow… she’s gorgeous.” Aurelia’s lips curved into a small smile, her chin lifting just enough to make it look like she’d expected the attention. My hand wrapped around her as we walked into class. Peyton was rubbing something on my seat when I arrived. The moment she saw me, she squabbled away like a mice running away. " She hasn't changed a single

  • The Overweight Omega and Her Three Knights    Aurelia's Return

TALON The ritual started. Candace and the others linked arms, their eyes closed as they began to whisper. Their voices bended together as their hands glimmered with magic. "Ad astra… revenire… per sanguinem… per vinculum…" My chest tightened as the ground beneath us pulsed, a faint vibration that made the sand tremble under my knees. The sky shifted. Clouds gathered where only moments ago the sunset had just been. Lightning thundered in the sky as if it was a warning. Forbidden spells always had consequences. But I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. Chloe’s face flashed in my mind. She didn’t trust us the way she trusted us the way she did back then. Not yet. But if I brought Aurelia back, if I made her see I would go to any lengths for her, maybe things could change. Maybe she would look at me like I was worth something again. The coven’s chant grew louder. "Sanguis… anima… redde quod perditum est…" The ocean roared, waves slamming hard against the shore. Cold air blew h

The ball shot over the net, my eyes locked on the player across from me. Sunlight poured down on the beach, warming the sand beneath our bare feet. Jett lunged with easy grace, his body cutting through the air as he sent the ball flying back toward me. I scrambled sideways, sand spraying under my toes, and barely managed to keep it in play. A laugh slipped out of me just as Kael dove across the court. His strong frame slammed into the sand, but he still managed to smack the ball over the net, a grin of victory stretched wide across his face. “You’re cheating,” I panted, bending forward with my hands braced on my knees. Kael only smirked, brushing sand from his arms. “Not cheating if I’m just better.” “Better?” Jett scoffed, tossing the ball into the air again. “You’d be nothing without my perfect set-ups.” “Perfectly annoying, maybe,” Kael shot back without missing a beat. Talon, who had been quietly watching from the edge of the court, finally moved. His hand caught the b

  • The Overweight Omega and Her Three Knights    The Space between Us

CHLOE My fingers curled around the golden pendant so tightly I thought it might cut into my skin. Aurelia had told me about her twin brother once, about the pack they came from, but she had never mentioned he was an Alpha. Or that he was this handsome. “Chloe!” Violet’s voice cut through the ocean breeze, sharp and familiar. Relief rushed through me, steadying the storm in my chest. I turned as she came closer, her steps quick in the sand, her eyes flicking between Steele and me with a mix of worry and suspicion. “What happened?” I asked, my voice shaky as she reached us. Violet didn’t answer right away. Her gaze stayed locked on Steele, narrowing like there was something she wanted to say but wouldn’t. The air grew tense, almost charged, before she finally tore her eyes away and looked at me. “We need to go,” she said firmly. “Some vampire boys are here.” My stomach dropped. Vampires. They never showed up in werewolf territory without a reason. “Where?” I whispered.
