It's nice to spend normal time with Q and K again.
CyraAfter breakfast, I notice a couple of my more daring pack members come over to introduce themselves to Quirin and Kennedy. Kennedy draws them in quickly, the pack latching on to the love and kindness that she exudes.Surprisingly, after the initial nervousness of meeting Quirin, our pack members seem to relax around him. He oozes confidence which makes a pack feel safe and since he’s not being aggressive in any way, more pack members start coming over, at least to say hi.“We’re going to go warm up and wait for Alpha Quirin to come show us some new moves,” Zach says, practically bouncing on his feet. “Plus, I need to come up with a good code name for him. Slasher, maybe,” he says, making all of us roll our eyes.“I’m pretty sure I’ve made my own name sufficient to put the fear of the Moon Goddess into anyone who thinks of crossing me,” Quirin says as we head to the office.“Well, yeah, there’s that. Hmmm, maybe we need to find someone who gets the codename Quirin,” he says to the
CyraWarrior training was fun. Besides being in the best shape of my life because of the Academy, I also know a lot of the skills that Yorick is teaching our warriors. However, it was nice to also see Warren’s more pure form of fighting, the parts that, according to Yorick, he’s mixed up with Quirin’s style of fighting. The warriors felt the difference immediately. Having Piper, Zach, Landon, and Chase here made a difference as well. My father, while always ensuring that the pack’s warriors were trained, wasn’t as intelligent a fighter as Warren and Yorick are. When the warriors began grumbling at the intense pace the two men were keeping, they quickly showed them why their fighting knowledge was inadequate by defeating them in one-to-one combat. Since I defeated my father yesterday in front of the pack, I wasn’t tested as much as Warren and Yorick, but after warrior training, I felt the pack settle even more. The pack not only feels the strength coming from myself, Yorick, and Warren,
YorickI wake tired and happy the next morning but also feeling different. As I kiss my mate’s shoulder and begin rubbing my hand over her hip that is resting against mine, it suddenly dawns on me what’s different.I’m an Alpha now. An Alpha who leads a pack. Yes, I’m leading with Cyra and yes, for me, she’s more of the Alpha than I am. But mentally, my connection to the pack is so much stronger than it was when I was part of Connor’s or Quirin’s pack.In the past, I could feel the pack in my mind, but I had to reach out to find the person I wanted to speak to. Now, it’s like all the lines to every pack member are lit up in my head, the connections actively waiting for me.‘I think I understand why our fathers are having such a difficult time letting go of being an Alpha. Imagine in twenty years this connection going back to the simple connections we had before. This is a bit unexpected, but we’ll adjust. I think the adjustment of returning to the quiet, simple pack connections will be
CyraAfter getting our guests settled, I showered and washed my father’s blood off my body. I thought Yorick might join me, but instead, he and the others began mingling with the pack.As I walk downstairs, I realize just how lucky I am to have this group of people here, these people who have become family to me. Every one of them is here to support me and they’re doing that by getting to know my pack members.Yorick turns, smiling as he sees me. I finish making my way down the stairs and walk over to him. There’s an excited, nervous energy in the pack. The intensity of it has heightened since I went to shower.“Hello beautiful,” he says, wrapping his arm around my waist.“Hello Lucy, Hello Charles, Hey Charlie,” I say to the pack members that Yorick is talking to. I give a little wave to Charlie who is only three and being held by his mother. He tucks himself up against her, but he’s grinning at me.“Hello Alpha. We were getting to know your mate and learning about his family,” Charle
MeganWhen I got back from my morning run, the entire Academy was buzzing about what had happened. Apparently, Stellan came to force his mark on Cyra and take her home with him. That didn’t go so well for him.Yorick went with Cyra to claim her pack from her father who is also in a lot of trouble for stealing money or something.“Alpha Michael carried the unconscious guy out of here over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes,” Talek says.“Where was he taking him?” I ask.“Jail, I guess. Alpha Nevaeh has cancelled classes for the next two days, so we get a long weekend.”“Why would she cancel classes?” I ask, digging into my breakfast.“Yorick, Piper, Chase, Zach, and Landon all went with Cyra to reclaim her pack,” Katelynn says.“They all went with her?” I ask. That’s more than a quarter of our class members. No wonder they cancelled classes.“Apparently. I guess they didn’t know how her pack would respond, and they all went for support,” she says.I look at the group sitting at the ta
YorickWatching my mate battle with her father, I felt so much pride that she’s mine. I know it’s not standard for a female to take over a pack, but it doesn’t matter to me. I never expected to become Alpha of my own pack. That’s why I went to the Academy. Now, with Dad training Cyra to be an Alpha, I have no doubt that she can run this pack while I, hopefully, work for the Council.Although, we still need to figure that out. A lot will depend on whether or not my mate is pregnant. If she is, she’s not far along since she was able to shift.I stand beside my mate when she gestures us over. She takes my hand as my father and our friends surround her.“My pack, this may seem sudden to you. I know you were not aware that my father was forcing me into an alliance agreement. I know none of you were aware that I met my fated mate when I went to the Academy nor that my father didn’t care that I found my mate. He still insisted that stay true to the alliance agreement, an agreement that I had
