Jude

The day after Councilman Warren was initiated in as a Council member, he asked to meet with all the elite squads to see what we’re working on and where we are with our investigations.

I’m guessing he chose the Tech Team to go first because Wendy is on our team and we have a court date coming up.

“Where are we at with Nathan West’s trial?” he begins. Nathan West is the man who planned to buy Vivienne from Alpha Glenn. His trial is first because anything incriminating that is said during his

Well, Wendy was very clear about what she wants.

WendyI fell asleep last night before Tracker found the computer that was trying to delete the video feed from the prison records. It’s nice that she included me by saying we both found it, but she and I both know I didn’t. I was helping her run tracers, and I’d put my head down. The next thing I knew, Jude’s alarm was going off, and I woke up in his arms and in his bed.Besides having to race to get ready, it was a good way to wake up.I was surprised that dad let Quirin in the meeting. I guess I shouldn’t be, and for me, I’m glad. Someone planned to kill Henry, the man who is as much a brother to me as he is to Quirin. I know my father is a powerful man, a powerful Alpha. But my family has always known that Quirin has a dark side to him. It never fazed Kennedy and as someone under my father’s protection, I never thought too much about his dark side, not until someone threatened Kennedy.I wasn’t there, but I, like everyone else, heard the rumors about my brother-in-law. He made sure

JudeBy five-thirty in the morning, I knew I needed to get some sleep. Tracker had gone to bed earlier and Wendy was asleep on my bed again. I’d moved here there after she fell asleep at the desk in my room. Yorick had come looking for her and he's given his okay for her to stay. Then I’d kept working. Peter is going down for the rest of his life, and now Councilman Jared is too. After the other two went to sleep, I’d followed him as he’d made his way to the room where Arden is being kept in isolation. However, Councilman Edward had intercepted him and told him he had to leave the area. It was an interesting conversation, one that I recorded so the team can see it.I almost wish that Councilman Edward hadn’t intercepted him. I’d like to know just how deep Jared’s betrayal goes.My alarm goes off at seven-thirty, giving me just enough time to get a quick shower and send Wendy to her room for one as well. When I get to the office where we’re meeting, I see Wendy on the phone video callin

HijackI wake slowly with my head pounding.I groan. What the fuck happened to me?“Easy, Lane. I’m guessing you have a nasty headache.”I recognize that voice, but it’s a lot softer than I’m used to hearing.“Yana?”“Yeah, it’s me. Try not to move,” she says and puts something cold on my forehead. That feels good.“Why can’t I see?” I ask, feeling like I’m about to panic.“Mom said the light would make your head hurt worse, so we’ve got your eyes covered.”“What happened? Where am I?”“You’re in the Academy hospital. You were ambushed. You fell and hit your head. Mom says you have a concussion,” she stops, her voice catching.I reach out and find her hand.“Don’t worry about me, Phisher. I’ve got a hard head,” I say. I don’t like hearing her cry.“Oh, don’t I know it,” she says, trying to make her voice sound brave, but the sniffle at the end gives her away.“How is everyone else? Did we lose anyone?” I ask.“No. You were the worst, you and Titan. You smashed your skull and he had chu

JudeWendy sat beside me the entire time Sanatrix was treating Hijack. What I gathered from Cipher was that, unlike me and our team, they didn’t have any warning for their attack, so when Hijack’s ladder got toppled, he went down hard, hitting his head. When Sanatrix came out, she confirmed what I already suspected.“Hijack has a concussion. He’ll need to remain in the hospital overnight, possibly for two nights, depending on how quickly his wolf is able to mend his broken bones.”She then looks around the room. She quickly assesses her mate, walking over to him and cupping his face.“How bad are your injuries, Arric?”“I am a strong, powerful wolf, my mate. I will be healed before you’re done helping the others,” Arric purrs at her.“Make sure you do, or you’ll answer to Annika,” she says, before looking around again. Her eyes finally landing on me. “Hacker, have you had an x-ray yet?”“Not yet, Sanatrix.”“Come with me,” she says, looking around. “Savannah, is there anyone else who n

MeganCouncilwoman Leslie drove our group of injured back to the Academy. I have to admit, I’m not feeling very comfortable with the council right now, minus our new Chairperson, of course. He’s the only one who was there with us. He jumped into the fight with all of us and if he’s as smart as his son, then he’s already figured out that we have a problem. A big one.We beat the other team to the Academy’s new medical center and while all of us are injured, we can all limp in on our own. As soon as we do, Luna Yara, or Dr. Yara, or Sanatrix is there to greet us. I’ve never actually met her. I just saw her in action when we were ambushed before. This time, she makes a point to assess everyone quickly before walking over to me.“What’s your name?”“I’m Siren, Sanatrix.”“Your wolf?” she asks, quickly pulling up my shirt to look at the injuries where I got swiped by an Alpha’s claws across my ribcage.“I’m Nadia, Sanatrix,” my wolf says, pushing forward.“Why aren’t you healing your human,

  • The Pack's Hacker   Chapter 51: Councilman Warren

WarrenMy first week as a councilmember and my teams get ambushed? Well I won't allow anyone to die on my fucking watch.I’m furious. There’s no way this could have happened unless someone in the know planned it. The list of people is small, so it won’t take long to figure out who it is, which is why I know that the plan with these ambushes is to kill, not scare.I have two elite team members who are not here today, one was actively in labor yesterday and one is about to give birth at any moment, so I have no doubt that neither of those women was involved in this. That leaves four people, and every one of them is a council member. Yes, I called the Council members in. They need to be here and if one of them doesn’t show up, that says a lot about their guilt. One of them set us up, so they better get their asses down here to help the elite squads that make their lives easier, or I’ll work to get them replaced or bring them down. For now, I need to make sure our teams survive these ambus
