Havermouth, Two Weeks Before

Heath and Cameron had wasted no time, Rhett saw with approval. By the time they’d paid for the paint, loaded it into the cars, and navigated the Havermouth traffic to Aislen’s father’s house, he saw Cameron’s Ute pulling up down the street, beneath the trees on the opposite side of the road to Aislen’s house, where they had been spending a lot of nights watching in wolf form.

Aislen and June pulled up in the driveway and spoke for a moment in the car before getting out. He kept an eye on them as he popped the boot and began to unload the paint cans there onto the sidewalk.

Cam and Heath carried the ladders with them as they crossed the road. Cam, being Cam, also carried the painting toolbox from their renovations on the river house in one hand. Both of his mates were ruffled and rumpled from bed and Rhett could smell the sex on their skin when they drew close.

“You made good time,” he said, picking up two of the heavy paint cans and leading the way across
