Skylar

The drive back home felt like the longest one I’d ever taken. My hands were tight on the steering wheel, my knuckles pale. I couldn’t even think clearly.

My mind kept going over everything Cole had said at the hospital. His angry voice. The look in his eyes. The pain in my chest wouldn’t stop.

As I pulled into the driveway, I saw Ingrid standing outside the front door. She must have been waiting. When our eyes met, her face softened with worry and care. I barely made it out of the car before I was in her arms.

“Oh, sweetheart,” she whispered, wrapping her arms tightly around me. “It’s going to be okay. Don’t think too much, alright? You hear me? Don’t blame yourself.”

But how could I not?

I sniffed and wiped my nose, my voice weak. “I just wish things didn’t get this far, Ingrid. Is it a crime to be so inquisitive? If Cole had just told me everything from the start... none of this would have happened.”

Ingrid didn

Amber“Skylar, you have no idea how nervous I am right now,” I muttered over the phone, balancing it on the lamp stand while I bent to put on my shoe. “I seriously don’t even know what to expect in the family house I’m going to. Left for me, I wouldn’t go at all. But you know my father... he’d probably send the police to drag me there if I didn’t show up.”Skylar chuckled softly through the phone. “You’re acting like you’re about to face a firing squad, Amber. Maybe it’s just something about work. You always overthink these things.”I sighed, slipping on the other shoe and checking my reflection in the mirror. “I hope you’re right,” I mumbled. “I just wish Xavier was here right now. It’s just wrong timing that he had to go on that business trip with Cole.”Skylar sighed too. “I miss my husband too. It feels strange not having him around the house, especially at night.”I just had to roll my eyes, even though she couldn’t see me. “Skylar! Please, stop reminding us single women that you

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Missing Pieces

ColeI stared at Luciana, unable to hide the irritation rising inside me. Her words made no sense at all. Amelia missing? “What sort of nonsense game are you trying to pull this time?” I asked sharply. My tone came out harsher than I meant, but I didn’t care.Luciana’s eyes widened. She quickly shook her head, her voice trembling. “No, Cole. This is not a game. I would never use my sister’s life to gamble.”She reached into her pocket with shaky hands and pulled out a folded photograph. She hesitated for a second before pushing it toward me. “Someone kidnapped Amelia from the prison in Austria,” she said in a broken tone. “They replaced her with another woman. That person in there now isn’t her.”I didn’t move. I just stared at her, unsure if I should believe any of it. Every instinct in me screamed not to trust her. “You expect me to believe this?” I asked coldly.Luciana’s lips trembled, but she didn’t back down. “I’m not lying, Cole. Just look.”Finally, I took the picture from

ColeI turned off the engine and leaned back in the driver’s seat, staring blankly through the windshield at the small restaurant ahead. For a moment, I just sat there, gripping the steering wheel, trying to steady the rush of thoughts in my head. My pulse hadn’t stopped racing since I received that message.I honestly didn’t know what I was doing here. What if it was a setup?A trap from a rival company?Or maybe some kind of prank?I’d considered all of that on my way here, and yet, here I was… alone.I exhaled sharply and shook my head, trying to get a grip. “Get it together, Cole,” I muttered under my breath. Maybe it was just curiosity, or maybe it was something deeper—something that made me feel like I needed to see this through myself.I stepped out of the car and walked into the restaurant. The soft chime above the door rang as I entered, and almost immediately, a waiter appeared. He was tall, acted polite, and strangely expectant, as if he had been waiting just for me.“Mr. B

ColeI leaned back in my office chair and sighed, setting aside one of the files. It had been a long morning… meetings, calls, reports. I was halfway through reading a report when a firm knock sounded at the door.“Come in,” I said, not looking up.“Cole.”I looked up and nodded. “Xavier. What is it?”He closed the door behind him and walked toward my desk.“There’s a little issue at the new construction site in Riverdale,” he began. “The indigenes living near the site are protesting again. They’re saying our work is affecting their water source and farmland.”I frowned slightly. “Didn’t we settle that matter last month? I thought the environmental team already ran tests and cleared everything.”“They did,” he confirmed. “But this time, it’s not about the report. The people said some of their trees were cut down without proper notice. They’re demanding compensation, and a few of them blocked the trucks this morning.”I sighed, rubbing my temple. “Of course they did. There’s always som

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Unexpected Call

AmberThe smell of garlic and onions filled the kitchen as I stirred the creamy pasta sauce simmering on the stove. I had a song playing softly from the bluetooth speaker on the counter, and I couldn’t help swaying my hips to the rhythm.I was halfway through tasting the sauce when I suddenly felt a familiar arm snake around my waist. Before I could even turn, a soft kiss brushed against the side of my neck.I gasped lightly but smiled. “Xavier…”He hummed lowly against my skin, his breath warm on my neck. “Mmm, you have no idea how beautiful you look right now,” he murmured between kisses. “Just look at you… swaying those hips like that while you cook. You’re driving me insane.”I laughed softly as I turned my head slightly to glance at him. “You’re such a naughty man, Xavier. You sneak up on me just to say that?”“Well, you’re the one making it hard for me to behave. The way you move, baby, it’s impossible to resist.”I giggled, playfully swatting his arm. “Behave, mister. I don’t w

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Strange Call

Cole“Easy… breathe, Skylar,” I murmured softly, rubbing her back in slow, gentle circles. My other hand held her hair out of the way as she crouched over the toilet, her body trembling slightly as she retched again. The vomiting sound coming from the toilet was what woke up this morning. Realising it was Skylar, I had to rush to help her and find out what was going on.When she finally stopped, she stayed there for a moment, catching her breath, one hand resting on the toilet seat for support. I grabbed a tissue and wiped the corner of her mouth before flushing the toilet quietly.“My love, I’m calling Dr. Evans. He should come check on you.”She shook her head weakly, her face pale and sweaty. “No. There’s no need for that,” she whispered. “I’m fine… I just need to rest a bit and maybe take something for the nausea.”I frowned. “Rest isn’t going to help if something’s wrong.”She looked up at me with a faint smile. “It’s probably what I ate last night. Remember the company’s biannua
