Chapter 14

Thomas arrived at the house where his sect met. He was really upset and annoyed to fail again in his attempt to capture Dr. Hansen and the boy. He came in quickly and went to one of the rooms, which was used as a kind of office, with a desk and chair in the center, and at the bottom of it, behind the desk, a large wooden cabinet as a closet that it almost reached the ceiling. He went there and opened one of the doors, took out one of the several whiskey bottles he had there and opened it, he poured some into a glass and drank it avidly. One of the few personal tastes he had was keeping a small collection of alcoholic beverages, especially whiskey, to satisfy an addiction he kept hidden to the members of his sect. There he kept at least ten or twelve bottles, and in his house another similar amount. He had acquired the habit by a terrible event in which he lost his entire family, collapsing his world in such a way that he lost all desire to live, trying more than once to unsuccessful
