CHAPTER FIFTEENReyna sighed as she neared the hostel, Niko had said the weekend, but in reality, the weekend was here already and there was just one day between today and the weekend. When she entered the room and saw Larissa in her favorite posture for when she was seeing her favorite series. She looked up at the intruding sound of the door opening. “Hey girl! You are back early” she said as she sat upright. Reyna always came back like two hours from now. “Yeah, I came home right after tutoring Maxwell.” She explained which made Larissa finally pause her movie. “Are you really okay Rey? Is Alan okay?” She asked a bit too loudly that their third roommate, a girl that neither of them got along with looked up from her screen also and gave Larissa the stink eye. “I’m fine Lisa. Just need to shower and maybe stroll with my best friend and I’ll be fine.” She winked at her as if informing her that they couldn’t converse at the moment. And Larissa got it and nodded.Their roommate was o
CHAPTER SIXTEENAs serious as it was, Reyna had to resist the urge to laugh when she saw Larissa’s expression. “Calm down, I didn’t steal it. Niko gave me.” And then ignoring the stunned expression on her face, she went ahead to describe the event of the past day. “You mean right now, you are his girlfriend? Niko?” She asked with bulging eyes. “On paper yes.” “Wow. I could never believe things like this really happened in real life.” She exclaimed and then kept quiet when she saw the waiter coming with their order. Reyna nodded in understanding, she had thought and imagined several ways out of their suffering but none had ever gone in this direction. “Does Alan know this?” She asks since it was still safe to ask that. Her eyes were however already glued to the noodles in front of her. It was steaming hot right now and eating at this point was just simply suicide. “I don’t think I can tell him how, he would refuse the operation. I would rather I tell him when he’s perfectly healt
CHAPTER SEVENTEENReyna and Larissa turned to see a young man smirking as he walked closer to them.“Neither of you are seen with boys and now you are taking night walks holding each other. Are you both together?” He asked as he looked at them very suspiciously. “The whole lot of you are just eager to pin homosexuality on everyone because you are one. Get out” Reyna spat out angrily and then turned dragging Larissa with her.“He was smelling like he had a lot to drink already” Larissa said as the both of them went back to their hostel. Since she had to tutor Maxwell tomorrow also and then go for her last day at the diner, Reyna decided to start packing her stuffs down from tonight.Stella who was still on the bed watching her series looked up when she saw all the movements. “It’s late and normal humans are already fast asleep. Why have you decided to disturb my peace of mind now?” She asked angrily as she tried to understand what they were doing. “Are you finally being chased out o
CHAPTER EIGHTEENThe weekend had arrived soon enough and Reyna had just woken up when her phone started ringing disturbing the other two that were sleeping in. Unlike Stella, Larissa was a deep sleeper and was not disturbed by the call while Stella however groaned and almost cursed at her. “Hey.” Reyna whispered into the phone afraid that she would wake the other two if she increased her pitch. “I’m outside your school dormitory area, which building is your room in so I can pack in front?” His magnetic and deep voice that she guessed she would get used to came through the phone. And somehow, it sounded just as new again. “No, you can stay there. I’ll be down shortly.” She said and then got down from her bed. Since she was already packed and only had a medium sized box for all her stuffs, she only had to clean up. After getting ready, she sent a message to Larissa with her phone so she doesn’t complain that she left without informing her. On the other hand, Niko wondered how exa
CHAPTER NINETEENBy the time it was noon, Reyna was famished yet she didn’t know if she was supposed to go downstairs to make her meal or wait for Niko to call her. She had been on the phone half the day with Larissa and also checking out investments. After a whole day of searching, she decided that the best thing was getting a professional. Her stomach grumbled for the umpteenth time and she stood up. “We are supposed to live together peacefully right?” She muttered to herself as she opened her room door. She confirmed that no one was on the corridor and tip toed downstairs. “I almost thought you were going to die inside your room.”Niko’s clear and amused voice broke her strides as her face flushed red. She turned back and saw him sitting on one of the sofas with a plate of what looked like roasted chicken in them. Her stomach grumbled at the sight and the sweet scent that wafted to her nostrils. She shot him a glare as she headed into the kitchen.Although she didn’t grow up pri
CHAPTER TWENTY “You should pay me for experiencing my cooking first hand.” Niko stated as he instructed her on how to cut the vegetables. She was not chatty and a quite relaxing presence to be around. “Well if there’s substantial proof that I really did experience your cooking first hand and can utilize the skills learnt from that luxurious experience, then you can be sure that you would get your due payment and recognition” she ended the statement with a giggle that made Niko take one more look at her. She sounded really nice and her voice was melodic. “Okay, challenge accepted then. Got to teach you how to cook in two years.” He said smiling also.“Of course, you would be getting a doctorate in culinary and cooking after that two years. Quite the number of chefs still need me to help them with some recipes.” Reyna assumed the last part was just him being comical and had no idea that it was the real deal. They were done making breakfast soon enough and the both of them sat down
CHAPTER TWENTY ONE “Are you saying you actually want to take a girl out on a date? Like a date, date?” Kyle asked his eyes widening on the video call while Lucas sat like he was frozen. Anytime Niko wanted his dad to think he was unredeemable, he would call them to help him get some girls and stage like he was being wild in the club or drunk. But never had they ever heard of a real date.“What are you planning this time?” Lucas asked finally coming out of his shock. “My girlfriend” his voice was devoid of emotion. It was clear that he didn’t find their reaction amusing. His words, However, only added to their shock as Kyle coughed loudly. “Are you saying that you have a girlfriend?” “Yes I do.” Is there a problem?” He asked with a raised eye brow. “If you have anything to offer, let me know and not waste time on mindless chatter.” Although he was trying to sound cold, the both of them knew it was the otherwise and just laughed. “You guys can see a movie, you can eat at a high e
Shopping was a luxury to Reyna, yet, she made sure that nothing of awe and surprise showed on her face as he led her through one of the most luxurious boutiques she had ever seen. When they had arrived at the front door, Niko had flashed a card at the receptionist before they were allowed in, they were very clear on their customers. “Do we really need to come here?” She muttered her voice barely above a whisper and yet, Niko heard as he turned to look at her an interesting smile hung on his lips. “You don’t like luxury?” He asked stepping back slightly so he could be exactly beside her. As an after thought, he pulled her closer to him by the waist and rested her hands there. All of these actions would help make their relationship more believable. Reyna on the other hand had not been ready for the intimacy and her body took seconds before the stiffening stopped. “Are you sure you don’t want this.” He asked, with how close they were, she was the only one that could hear what he sai
