Chapter 4: Poison Of The Enticing Flames

"Alpha Richard is giving his daughter's hand in marriage,” My father said, gulping up his glass of whiskey before placing it back on the table.

"So l heard,” I replied, uninterested.

"So I want you to come with me. Let's honour his invitation. l will have them prepare your clothes.”

I nodded, shutting my eyes as my father walked himself out. I wasn’t phased or bothered by the invitation. l'm keen to gracing my presence in a well-organized respected gathering. After all, I’m well sorted after by everyone and every Pack I have given the honor of visiting. They always welcome me with open arms, they are mostly carried away by my demeanour. 

Some of them will lay out a war truck of gold just for me to bless them with my eyes. Some of them will do anything to have my hand tap on their shoulders so i can feel their blood boil under their skin.

Some of them will beautifully throw themselves on me. So l finally concluded all the living creatures are attracted to me but none of them have proven themselves worthy of my attention.

But since my father personally invited me, l have to go.

"Done?” I asked the two Betas who have been dressing me up.

"Yes, Alpha.You look so good,” They giggled among themselves, shy and red but l spared them no glance.

“Get the limited boxes of those black pearls ready, l want to give them to the bride,” I tell the guard by the door.

"Yes, Alpha."

I let out a knowing smirk. Of course, l always look scrupulous and sweet. I flip my short stray hair backward, gazing at the mirror in front of me. I look too good to even exist in this world. After a short breakfast with my father, we both headed with a tinted black beetle convertible car to the People's Pack.

We got to this very beautiful castle-like house made up of grass and valleys.

"Welcome, Alpha Kenneth and Alpha Knight." 

A slight smirk curves my lips at Alpha Richard's courtesy and warm welcome. I let my eyes unsteadily roam on everything around, keeping my cool and sweet composure as always.

"Make yourself comfortable, Alpha. This suite was specifically prepared for you,” He shows me a master class suite made of gold with peak design for relaxation. 

I appreciate his hospitality, “Thank you, Alpha Richard.” 

"Alpha please don’t mention, enjoy your stay."

   

Later on the wedding night everything was going on quite well. The People's Pack is indeed living up to their reputation but it will be on the ground once l become the Head Alpha. A gentleman like me would love to follow the ritual procedures and find my mate. But that would have been the case if the myths still exist but now I can only hope for someone my heart could beat for.

I sat in the wedding party bored out of my mind, snooping out my plans about how I’m totally going to dominate the whole Central plains.

l shut my eyes, letting out a long sigh. Suddenly l felt the solitude of someone walking by me. At first, l thought it was one of the guards attending to their guest but not until a sweet smell of white pink flower, a smell of cotton rose filled my nose.

I opened my eyes to the smallest waistline I have ever seen. The owner was gyrating their hip bones in a delicious way with their walking steps. His black leather trouser was so tight on his body, accentuating those bubble ass incredulously. My eyes immediately shoot up at the luring enchanted white shirt swirling on his body like an ocean wave, blessing me with a peace of mind l deserve.

I let my eyes consume his whole body until my gaze fixed on the vein line on his neck. I admire how the line was beating out to the rhythm of his heartbeat. It makes my fangs glisten with a deadly desire. He is so beautiful, he has the most perfectly crafted oval face with shoulders length white hair to complement his creation.

l blinked back into reality when he sat on the table across from me on the same aisle but with the passageway separating us. I couldn't take my eyes off him, my heart began to crave for him desperately.

What is he? 

I raised my right hand, getting the attention of the guard beside me.

"Alpha, how can l help you?"

I couldn't take my eyes off this beautiful soul food, "May l know who that gentleman is?"

"Oh, that is our Alpha's son. Omega Bram, Alpha.”

"Omega?” I looked at the guard with surprise, “Really?”

"Yes, Alpha."

I wave for him to go. 

An Omega? 

He is not just a filthy sugar but a rarity at that. I instantly knew that I wanted him. He is the one for me and everything about him should be mine and mine alone.

I almost moaned when he turned around and gave me those real puppy eyes. He might have felt my eyes on him but I didn’t care. I continue to drink him in, he is so beautiful, no explanation is needed.

I mind-linked my favourite Beta, Adrian. Who was standing guard behind my father keeping a close watch around.

"I need your attention, Adrian."

"Yes, Alpha."

"Come here.”

"Uhm, Are you alright?”

"Get here at once," l said, rubbing my forehead impatiently.

“How can l help you, Alpha?" Adrian said, taking a seat beside me. His eyes squinted at the small brown bottle covered with a pink silk scarf that I brought out of my jacket.

"Empty this in a drink and have it delivered to that Omega.”

"But he won't just accept a drink from me, would he?"

“Give it to one of the maids in the name of Alpha Gladys. He wouldn’t reject a drink from the sister, would he? It’s her wedding day of course.”

"I understand, Alpha."

"Now go.”

I applaud myself for making the best decision for my heart. I never knew the People's Pack would hold such a treasure. I’m more than grateful that I came here today. The spirit has favoured me and the goddess is greatly on my side.

Poison of the Enticing Flames. That is the liquid that is going into his drink, it is one of its kind. Now I have to see if what that old man said to me many years ago about this rare poison which works only on Omegas is true.

"Done, Alpha,” Adrian reports back.

I watch my new interest quietly, he is more beautiful than the moonlight. I bite my lip forcefully as I let out a happy groan when l saw him gulp down every content of the cup. 

May the spirit help me that l find an antidote for him, sooner or later. If l'm going to marry him, l won't let him die from being hell horny after every 10 days. 

Speaking of the side effects l don't think it will do that much worse on him.

The more he ejaculates the more he is subject to this feeling and the crazier it'd be when it comes back after 10 days.

I chuckle under my breath, what a time to be alive. The happiness in me right now is like that of a fulfilled wish from an ancestral unicorn.

Oh, my fucker!

That scent… his scent was beginning to fill the air, the smell of cotton rose. His pheromones were filling up my nose. Will that have an immediate effect on him? 

Fuck! It seems it has already started working as he was humping on the chair. I shut my eyes and glossed my lips with my tongue. 

He is acting this way, so naughty, l like it. His butt getting pleasure from that wooden chair will soon get the pleasure it deserved from me. My body and heart began to flutter in the sweetness of his cotton rose. 

If he continues moving his ass like that, I will make sure the sun never kisses his skin again. I went behind him and dropped my head on his neck, his smell became my oxygen and my fangs wanted to have a taste of his flesh.

l didn't expect him to flare up like l was going to have his head cut off from his body. His face was already red, his mouth was watery and his puppy eyes were shining on me. He is very cute, I could die. His legs were barely alive on the ground and he had gotten all the attention to himself because he wouldn’t let me help him.

But his eyes had told me otherwise, he wanted my help and he also had fears lingering in his eyes.

"Let me help you, Bram?" I was so happy to help him and make him know he was the only important thing in the world. But a voice interrupted me when no one dares to interrupt me when l'm talking.

I tilt my head in the direction of the stern voice. It was Alpha Richard, his father, "I will have the guards send him to his room,” He had said and I hated his greedy tone the most. He was obviously embarrassed by Bram and this was the best time for me to prove to him that I didn't mean any harm, that l just wanted to help him so I insisted on helping him.

I got the perfect view of his face. If my composure wasn't of top-notch l would have fallen into shambles in submission for his endearing beauty.

His eyes on me made everything even better.

He had quite a lot of control over himself and I'm sure he won't be able to have control over it later.

So I had decided to let him go back to his room, waiting around to make sure no one takes advantage of what is mine. l lurked around his quarters like a flash of shadow at his window until it was morning. I went to pay for his bride price immediately, giving up whatever greedy thing his father asked me for. After that I left in a hurry to have a meeting with Alpha Norbert of Island Pack.

Before that I had said, "Alpha Richard, l'm honoured to be your son-in-law. With this privilege, l will love to ask for a favour."

"Anything Alpha, just ask and it will be given to you,” He chuckles proudly."

"This will make me extremely very happy to see that Bram is being taken care of at length, in 8 days time. l will see to every present, including his clothes, boxes of shoes, scent soaps and lotions and everything a beautiful man would ever need will arrive in this Pack safely. Then l will come to claim him on the tenth day," I said sincerely.

"Your favour is granted, Alpha."

I returned to my Pack to finish up every pending unattended matter but my body wanted that Omega. I kept thinking about him. I couldn’t wait to marry him.

[My wolf has been keeping tabs on me telling me he is not our mate.]

Of course l know he is not our mate. Don't you feel like you want to rail him up whenever you see him? Don’t worry I’m giving you something to play with. Let's go and meet our better half.

"Adrian are you there?” I mind-linked my Beta, "Get the car keys to the main entrance,” l said, stepping out of my suite and strolling in the hallway leaving my hands in my pocket.

"It’s late, l will drive you to where you are going,” Adrian drawled.

"I have personal matters to attend to."

"More reasons l should drive you."

"Don't bother,” l said, snatching the keys from Adrian's hand as I walked past him.

"Your father came back and he requested your presence at dawn.”

l gave him a thumbs up heading to the car. l stormed off leaving my Beta to his stares. I’m going to only sneak in to have a peek at Bram.

Did he think about me? Did he like how l touched him that night? Would he want me?

Now, I was standing outside his door and he wasn't so happy to see me. He even went as far as saying he doesn't want to marry me and that he wants his mate more than he wants me.

I couldn’t understand why I was standing right in front of him and he didn't want me.

Whew! 

Maybe this is what it means to take interest or fall in love with the most beautiful man who walks this earth. l stepped forward and wrapped his waist into my arms where it belongs, leaving a remarkable kiss on his lips but he refuses to let me through, to access his tongue. Instead, he gathered all his strength to push me away from himself. 

I feel so hurt that he doesn't want me but then he wants me, "l would stake my life for you just to hear you tell me that you want me."

"What did you do that for?” He asked me about the topic of his drink and I gave him my sincere answer.

"Because l love you and l want you to be mine.”

"What?” I could hear how low his voice was in his throat.

"I knew you'd act this way so l choose this for you. l poisoned your drink but don’t worry it's not that kind of poison,” l said, fucking him with my eyes, "It will stimulate your hormones and take control of your body, making you want more than you can get. It will leave you with excessive desires and drive you into pleasure.

I don’t think I have to explain, you are a living testimony to tell the tales of how it truly feels to have the Poison of Enticing Flames in your body."

"What do you stand to gain from all of this? Don't you understand the essence of mate-bond?” He said, gripping his shirt until it was draping.

"Are you angry with me, Bram?" I ask him instead. 

"Get out, leave my room or l will call the guards.”

I rolled my eyes, enthralled by this beautiful creature who can’t even stand on his feet because he heard his drink was tampered on.

"What should l do to you?” My tone is seductive as I take a step forward, pinning him on the wall, "I guess l only have to make you accept me in the way l can only think about,” I leave tiny kisses on his right cheek and then on the other cheek. I press my nose on his skin, breathing in a full dose of his sweet scent. I let my fangs tease his neck, prepping how soft and tight his skin is. 

A soft groan slowly leaves his mouth, "Don't mark me."

"What do you think of me, Bram? Do you think I'd mark you without you accepting me with your body and soul? I won't do anything to hurt you, you’re my only one. l will wait until l claim you,” l mumbled, unable to take my eyes off him, he might just disappear if l do.

I slightly relaxed my body, hating him for refusing my contact. I let my fingers comb through his hair as l placed a kiss on his lips. I suck on his bottom lip as if I’m sucking on peaches, licking the roof of his mouth, "Let me through, Bram." 

He shakes his head in disagreement 

"Every man should throw flower petals for you to walk on, you deserve the reputation of a royal wife. I want our wedding night to arrive already,” I said, feeling his bulged poke in my stomach. It reminds me how close I l was to his warm body, “Your body says yes to me, Bram. What should l do?"

He shut his eyes, turning his head to the side.

"You are trying to distract your thoughts from me, aren't you?" I took a step backwards and picked him up bridal style, taking him to his bed as I sat on it, not letting him go, “Bram, your actions and words are piercing my heart and causing me pain. Don’t ever shut your eyes on me again… l should be everything you want to see. l'm very sad from all this and l just want to see that you sleep very comfortably,” I release calming pheromones, easing his mind.

It went totally quiet as he didn't want to talk to me. But l'm happy to see his resting face, "Sleep, my Omega,” I peck his lips and then licked his face.

I stared at how beautiful he fell asleep in my arms, it made me so happy that he could rest while he was with me but I needed to head back to have a meeting with my father at dawn and I needed to make sure our wedding preparations went as planned.
