Chapter 4. fall in love with me

I remember seeing myself being strapped to a chair as people dressed all black held guns to my head, threatening to kill me right there and then. One of them, I remember, shot an arrow straight through my leg. I cried out in pain and fear, and screamed and begged them not to do it. But they didn't listen. I felt so helpless.

When I finally woke up, I noticed my phone sitting beside me on my bedside table. It was almost ten o'clock in the morning. I picked my phone up and read through all of my notifications. I had a bunch of text messages from everyone telling me that they are sorry for yesterday and wishing me good luck for today. Some even asked whether I was okay. But mostly everyone wanted to check on me. They were concerned about me. So, naturally, I decided to message them all back. There was also one message from Ryan.

Hey, babe! Are you coming back this evening?

I sent him a reply.

No, actually. I have plans tonight and am gonna come home late today. But I'll be back tomorrow. Why?

Ryan replied almost immediately.

Just checking to if you got my texts.

I rolled my eyes and smirked. It seemed like Ryan wasn't aware that I was in trouble. I'm sure he assumed I would come home later today. I texted him again.

Don't worry about it. Everything is taken care of.

So, how did you get into so much trouble today? Is everything alright?

I shrugged my shoulders and typed my answer.

Everything is fine. Don't worry about it. Just please take care of yourself.

I stared down at my phone as it started vibrating rapidly against the bed sheets. I couldn't stop smiling. It was nice to know that he cared so much about my safety. Maybe he didn't realize that I was completely safe...and I couldn't blame him for not worrying.

I quickly grabbed my bag and headed out of my apartment. I called my driver to pick me up at 7 pm. It would take me approximately forty minutes to get home because there was traffic every single day. I got in my car and headed toward work.

***

The first couple of hours passed by pretty fast. Soon enough, I was walking into the office. I was feeling excited to go home because I'm very hungry. I haven't eaten anything since breakfast. I hurriedly ran to the elevator and pressed the button to open the elevator doors.

Once I stepped out onto my floor, my secretary immediately came running towards me and wrapped her arms tightly around me into the car then I returned home, when I return home in the evening I rest a little bit my alarm rang. it was 7:PM Time to go to the bar where I worked in the sunset. on my way to go, I met Louis who save my life. Louis is a vampire who is looking for a soulmate. Louis said to me "the first time I met you that night I felt lost in thought" we moved together and he get me a glass cup of wine where I work at the bar. we both chat about the ancient that happened on the day he rescue me. And he tells me about himself. Louis said to me that he is interested in me I was like how. he asked me for a date not knowing that am in love with an Alpha name lupus and I am in condemnation come at the cost of an auction

. But I refused. I just didn't want to deal with it right now. Louis said he understood and that he won't try to force himself on me. After we exchanged numbers, I went home and rested until my alarm ringed to wake me up for work. I then arrived at the bar and greeted the owner and his wife. Then I took over the duty of preparing drinks and serving food for everyone. Soon enough my shift ended and I had a chance to relax. I ate dinner alone at the table in my apartment. Afterwards, I went into my bedroom and tried to relax myself by reading or playing some video games. Then I began thinking about how I shouldn't feel happy because the world keeps spinning on its axis no matter what I do. It isn't fair for it. Even though it's beautiful outside and it's sunny, it doesn't really feel like summertime at all. In fact, everything feels bleak, depressing. I'm not used to it anymore. I miss the warmth and the sunshine and the warmth of love. It's cold in my apartment. Too cold. I could barely sleep well. Every time I close my eyes I see blood. The blood I spilled, I see blood everywhere. Everywhere. Like my blood drips off the walls and ceiling, I can't stop remembering what I had done. And what I had become. I don't think I can ever live with myself.

At exactly eight o'clock in the evening, I walked down the stairs with two plates full of lasagna in my hands, and headed for the exit. I turned around when I heard someone calling my name behind me. And when I look back, I saw the Alpha standing right behind me holding a plastic bag in his hand.

"Hi." He said.

"Oh, hi," I responded.

"You're leaving already?"

"Yeah. I have to prepare for tonight's auction. Where will you be?"

"I will be at the bar, too."

"Oh really? You have an event scheduled for tonight?"

"Yes, the auction will start at eleven o'clock tonight. That means you need to hurry because you still have plenty of time to finish your work."

"Alright, thanks," I replied.

With that, he put his bag in the pocket and left. I continued eating my lasagna while staring out of the window of my apartment and thinking of nothing. I didn't notice how long I've been staring at the street, watching cars drive by, or people going to work and shopping. It had been twenty minutes when I noticed the streetlights turning on. When it finally dawned on me that I hadn't seen any lights turn on for the past five minutes, I turned back toward the door and locked it. Then I walked toward my balcony and opened the sliding glass door. As soon as I stepped out onto the balcony, I smelled the scent of rain clouds. They were forming a dark gray sky and there was a strong wind blowing. I glanced up and observed how thick, dark clouds hung low above. It seemed like a storm would be on its way. I closed the door again and went inside.
