First day out

The moment Leo gets the fake call to say that I can get off bed rest, I call Layla to give her the good news. And she asks if I can come have brunch with them.

After ending the call, I go in search of Leo to butter him up. I find him downstairs, yelling in his phone at someone.

I hesitate, not knowing if it is a good time to ask him to go out.

He looks up to see me standing there; he turns his back on me and continues talking. I take that as a cue to leave, but he stops me by calling my name.

I stop and wait until he gets off the phone.

"Do you want something?" Leo ask.

"I was wondering if I could go out with Layla. I told her I was feeling better, and she wanted to celebrate."

"So soon?"

"Yeah, she wants me to feel better. I told her about the miscarriage."

His face seems to soften a bit, then he nods. "I'll get someone to bring you."

I nod, trying to hide my excitement.
