Pack Bonds and Pride

Author: Ada
(Freya's POV)

The memory of my father's recovery replayed in my mind as I sat quietly in the corner of Birch Tree Café. I could still hear the strain in his voice, the weight of our family’s defeat thick in the air back then.

"Freya," my father had said, his voice remarkably steady despite his broken body lying in the hospital bed. His pale face had contrasted sharply with the strong Alpha he'd once been. "We must repay Caroline Redwood for what she has done."

I had stared at him in disbelief, gripping the side of his hospital bed tightly. His breathing had been strained, but there was fierce determination in his eyes. A determination that refused to accept the reality of our situation.

"Father," I had replied, my voice barely above a whisper. "We’ve lost nearly everything. How can we talk about repayment when we have nothing left to give?"

My father's expression had hardened, his gaunt face drawn with the pride of a once-feared Alpha. "We haven’t lost everything," he had shot bac

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Unwelcome Encounter

(Freya's POV)"The meaning of rejection is already very clear," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. After a long silence, Marcus Cross's voice remained gentle. "Freya, what happened? If you don't need me to accompany you, then let Beta Thompson accompany you? He knows more about cars, so those salesmen won't deceive you—""Do I look stupid?" I interrupted impatiently. "So stupid that any car salesman can easily deceive me?""That's not what I meant," Marcus replied quickly."If that's not what you meant, then why do you still want Beta Thompson to come over? I said I don't need him, didn't you hear me?"The other side fell silent. I felt a pang of regret after saying such harsh words. This person had treated me exceptionally well for the past five years. But continuing to be soft with him would only lead to more harm. It was better to cut ties quickly. When he didn't respond, I assumed Marcus was too upset to speak. Finding it strange that he didn't hang up, I ended the cal

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   An Icy Encounter and Shifting Dynamics

(Third-person's POV)When Freya uttered Caroline Redwood's name, the atmosphere in the car became eerily silent. The air seemed to freeze, heavy with unspoken tension.Aaron's golden eyes narrowed slightly upon hearing Caroline mentioned. His jaw tightened, and for a moment, his wolf Logan stirred restlessly within him. Before he could say anything about his relationship with Caroline, Freya cut him off coldly."I don't care about your relationship with her," she said, her voice like ice. "I just hope you stop pestering me."Her words visibly chilled Aaron. His expression darkened, and he leaned back in his seat, studying her with calculating eyes."Stop pestering you?" he repeated, his voice deceptively calm. "Interesting choice of words, Freya."He tilted his head, his gaze boring into her. "Didn't we agree to a clean break after our mate bond severance? That we'd both move on with our lives?"Freya felt her heart skip a beat. There had been no such agreement. Why was he lyin

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Confrontation in the Restaurant

(Aaron's POV)When angry, a person's rationality is often covered by emotion. I was no exception, even when it came to the woman I loved. However, Ryan Mitchell's words brought me back to my senses, and my anger instantly extinguished. I lowered my eyes, concealing their dark color.*Yes, what right did I have to be angry?*Five years had passed. I should be glad she wasn't mated yet, giving me a chance, regardless of the role, as long as it wasn't another Alpha.I glanced at Ryan. "Okay, I didn't expect you to be quite useful.""Right, right?" Ryan immediately sought a reward. "Then, Alpha Steel, can I get a raise this year?"I scoffed. "We'll see.""Have you handled everything I asked you to do?""Done. They said they're moving tonight, and we'll pick up the kids tomorrow. However... Alpha Steel, are you planning to pretend in front of the two children that the Hayes child is yours? Wouldn't that be inappropriate?""Of course not," I said coldly. "How could I let another ch

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Sister's Advice

(Freya's POV)I found myself amused by Emily's persistent concern. "Why are you always so worried about my affairs?"Emily's response carried genuine emotion through the phone. "You're my only good sister; if I don't worry about you, who will? Besides, this is about your future happiness, so of course I need to put in more effort."I listened quietly, sighing softly afterward. "Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about yourself, Emily. You haven't found a mate after all these years.""Don't change the subject!" Emily quickly deflected. "Don't try to shift the focus to me. I'm talking to you very seriously right now."Just as I was about to say something else, my phone buzzed with another message. The notification showed "Night Wolf" had sent a second text."Emily, he just messaged me again," I informed her.Though not directly involved, Emily's excitement was palpable. "Quickly agree! Do exactly as I told you."I found myself speechless at her enthusiasm."Hurry, Fr

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Unseen Eyes and Unspoken Truths

(Third-person's POV)Marcus paused, standing still for a long while before looking at Freya helplessly."Since that's the case, can I drive you, Evelyn, and Julian to school today?"Freya intended to make things clear between them today. She believed that one last time wouldn't hurt."Okay."On the way to school, Marcus drove while Freya sat quietly. Evelyn chattered endlessly from the back seat."Uncle Marcus, look! I drew a picture of our family yesterday!"Marcus patiently responded to her every word. "That's wonderful, Evelyn. What did you draw?""I drew Mommy, me, and Julian! And I drew a big house with flowers!"Upon arriving at school, Marcus got out to personally escort the twin pups into the building. Freya watched them quietly. As she observed, a sharp, cold gaze seemed to pierce her back. Reflexively, she turned to locate the source. Her eyes fell upon a black car - the same one she had seen yesterday.Yesterday, she had dismissed the feeling as paranoia. But now,

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   He wanted to get close to her and the children again

(Aaron's POV)"Uncle, why are you here?" Evelyn's voice carried genuine surprise as she looked up at me with bright violet eyes. Her childish tone made something warm unfurl in my chest. I found myself smiling despite the gravity of this moment."I came to visit the school and didn't expect to run into you two," I replied, my gaze shifting to Julian. The boy was more cautious than his sister. I watched as he subtly moved closer to Evelyn, his small hand finding hers in a protective gesture. Even at such a young age, his Alpha instincts were already showing."Eh? Handsome Uncle is here to visit the school? Are you mated? Do you have a pup?" Evelyn bombarded me with questions.I found myself momentarily stumped. How could I explain my true situation to a child? After a moment, I looked directly at the wary Julian. "Don't call me Handsome Uncle anymore. Call me Uncle Night.""Uncle Night?!" Both children gasped in unison, their eyes widening with disbelief."Are you Uncle Night?"
