Cassandra raised her perfectly arched eyebrow, amusement playing on her lips. "You scare too easily," she quipped, her voice tinged with teasing.

Embarrassed by my overreaction, I scratched my head sheepishly. "Right. Whatever. I'm going out for dinner tonight," I muttered.

"I heard," Cassandra replied, her tone nonchalant.

Curiosity piqued, I couldn't resist asking about her own plans for the night. "So, what do you have planned for tonight?" I inquired.

Cassandra shrugged, her dark curls bouncing with the movement. "I dunno, maybe catch up with Jane?" she said casually.

"Okay, do you want me to drop you off on my way?" I offered, hoping to be helpful.

"No, it's cool. I'll ask her to pick me up," Cassandra declined with a wave of her hand.
