Kayla pov

After lunch I felt very uneasy about everything going on and how I am hiding the truth from Sally. I have never been able to hide anything from her. I really don't know why I didn't tell her the truth from the first day that we met. Maybe it should have been a lot easier for me.

Hearing her talk about how they used to act so in love made me realize that Ella might be a very good actress. I suddenly found myself thinking maybe she's also pretending about her relationship with Justin. Maybe they're not as happy as she makes it look because that's her specialty, she makes every fake relationship look real.

“Kayla, stop doing this to yourself.” I said to myself several times when I started imagining a lot of stupid things.

Sally rushed out of the room all dressed up, she already took the day off so I was wondering if she had another appointment.

“I got a call from the club I work at and they insist that I can't get the night off because of some important guests they will be hav

Sally’s povI could not believe my ears when I heard Alicia’s voice. She clearly dropped her resignation letter and said she would never return to the company again, so I really don’t understand why she is here all of a sudden. Both of us stood in front of each other, staring at each other dead in the eyes. I needed to understand her reason for being here. She betrayed me in a way that I never expected her to, so there's no way I’m going to forgive her even if she’s here to beg for my forgiveness.“Are you not pleased to see your work, best friend?”“Our friendship died the moment you chose to treat me the way you did.” I responded immediately. I just could not understand the reason why she came in the first place because both of us clearly don’t have any unfinished business.“You know I kept asking you what I did wrong to you, but you never had any explanation to give me.”“That’s because I have nothing to tell you.”“Alicia! I really don’t get you. Both of us confided in each other

Sally’s povAfter the little misunderstanding with Kayla, I started feeling bad because I thought I might have taken it too far and she might be upset. I know she meant well because of her experience with her ex, but I know that Kendrick is nothing like Justin, and he would never do such a thing to me.“Ughh.” I sighed because there was too much on my mind, and I still feel like I shouldn’t have said some things that I said to her.“She might really hate me right now.” I whispered to myself while I was still in deep thoughts.I stood up from where I was sitting and headed back inside the hospital, as I was hoping that both of us could finally have a conversation and end this unnecessary misunderstanding that both of us have, although I know that I am the reason for the misunderstanding because I failed to see where Kayla was coming from, and I also failed to understand that she definitely meant good for me and she doesn’t want me to make any mistake because she has already made mistak

Kayla's POVAfter my meeting with the investors, I headed back home immediately. They told me we would be having a special guest at the meeting, but unfortunately the guest was unable to make it, which made us round the meeting immediately.I know that this particular company has also invested in the gallery; maybe this is the best way to get back here because now it seems like my new gallery is getting to the level his own is at even though we built that gallery for more than 4 years now.“Hey.” I was surprised to see Sally at home because she is supposed to be at work and not at home, and it is very unlike her to spend the day at home when she is supposed to be at work.“What is going on? Why are you here and not at work?” I asked her curiously, and she just kept smiling like I was complimenting her beauty or something.“You aren't saying anything.”“Well, my boss said I should quit my work at the club.” I wasn't exactly pleased with that because both of them are not even an item ye

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 82

Writer's povWhen Justin drove into the compound, he saw Ella's car parked in the compound already, which makes it obvious that she has already returned home. He stormed inside a house angrily and slammed the door behind him.Ella heard the loud sound of the door and immediately stood up to see what was going on, but shockingly the person she saw standing in front of the devil was Justin, so she was wondering why he would slam the door like that. The noise attracted the attention of all the maids in the house, and they could already tell that their bosses were about to get into another very heated argument as usual.“Have you been drinking? Because there is no logical reason why you would slam the door like that.” Ella said to him angrily because she just couldn't understand the reason why he slammed the door like that.Justin stared at her face for a while and started laughing all of a sudden. Everyone was watching both of them; they're wondering what the misunderstanding is about th

writer's povSally and Kendrick's relationship had already gotten better than it had ever been. Alicia could no longer take the heat at the office because she's no longer friends with Sally, so she had to quit her job. Even before she quit, she didn't see anything wrong with getting what she did; she still claims that she did everything because at that moment that was how she felt, and she doesn't regret anything that she did.Even though Sally was hurt, she couldn't do anything about it. The best part is that both of them would never cross paths again."Are you...?" The team leader was about to ask Sally if she's going out for lunch, but when he saw Kendrick, he didn't bother asking anymore because he knew definitely that she would be going with Kendrick for lunch.Sally couldn't help but laugh when she saw the expression on his face. "Don't you think you're scaring people away from me?" Sally asked while she was arranging her table so that both of them could go out for lunch togethe

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 80

Ella’s POVThings are not going the way I want them to go between Justin and me because after everything that I have done to make him forget about her, he's still thinking about her, and it's making our relationship unable to work smoothly. What upsets me the most is that he always makes it my fault that both of us are no longer in our marriage and we are striving to even work out this relationship that we put ourselves in.I'm the only one to be blamed for everything not going smoothly between us and for our ex-partners as well.I was hoping that if I changed a little and was more intentional towards him, he would forget about Kayla and only think about me. That way I would know that I have him in my corner already and then try to win Zach back. I know that my greed is getting the best of me, but I have always wanted both of them, and I'm not going to let Kayla have any.I know that doing this kind of thing with Justin is going to bring down my level completely because back then I us
