Writer’s POV

Sally and Kayla's issues were yet to be resolved because Kayla decided to give her space, knowing that her actions are hard for Sally to get over. Sally was not exactly upset with her; she just found it hard to accept that she was able to keep such a huge secret from her.

It was almost time for dinner, and both of them chose to eat dinner without talking to each other.

The system continued like that for a few days until Kayla got tired and took the initiative of bringing up a conversation. She knew that if she continued like that, she’d only be making things more difficult for herself because it’s only going to make her feel even more guilty than she’s already feeling.

“Hey.” Kayla said to Sally in the room when they were about to go to bed.

Sally raised her head to look at Kayla the moment she heard her voice.

“Can I have a moment with you?” Kayla asked respectfully; she was trying to be very careful with her words. She didn’t want to say anything that wou

Writer's POVWhen Sally and Kendrick arrived at the mall, she still didn't understand what was going on because why would he want her to follow him to an official dinner party and not just any dinner but a dinner that has so many influential people? She wasn't sure of how she would behave when she got to such a place.“Why are you still standing there?” Kendrick asked and told them to take her to a place where she could try out some outfits. Sally couldn't object; she just allowed herself to be thrown around by the ladies. After trying a few outfits, he still wasn't comfortable with any of them, so she was taken to another area of the mall where they have so many expensive outfits.Sally was curious to know how much a dress cost in the mall, so she checked the label of one of the dresses, and she was shocked to find out that the particular dress she was holding cost a million dollars.“I want her to wear that.” Sally opened her eyes wider than normal when she heard what Kendrick said.

Kayla's POV“Hello, good morning, sleeping beauty.”“Why would you even call me that? You know I hate it.” I said to Sally and got up from the bed. Both of us walked out of the room, and I could already perceive a beautiful aroma coming out of the kitchen. I knew that Sally must have prepared breakfast already, which is why she came to wake me up.“I was thinking of something last night, and I feel like I made the worst mistake of my life getting married to Justin.”“You're not the only one that thinks that way, and I don't think it's wrong to feel that way.”“Yes, I can't believe I had someone as capable as you, and I chose to marry someone like him.” Sally was so shocked to hear what I said that she couldn't chew the food she put in her mouth.“I can't believe I almost agreed with you.” Sally threw her bag at me, and both of us started running around the house like children. “I’m dead serious I should have married you instead; can't you see that you're my soulmate?” Sally got tired

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 31

Writer's POVKayla explained everything to Sally and the reason why she decided to keep it a secret from her. She knew very well that Sally would not be happy to hear the whole truth, but at the end of the day she had to say it to her so that she could get it off her chest. Sally did not react the way Kayla thought she would react; she was a lot calmer than Kayla imagined her to be.“I'm sorry if I have been prying so much to the extent you choose to keep such an important thing a secret from me.” Kayla felt somehow guilty when she heard what Sally said to her; she realized Sally was not taking it the way she thought she would instead. She made it look like Kayla was keeping it a secret because Sally was being too nosy.“I didn't mean it that way at all. I just thought I had been disturbing you so much with my problems, and maybe I could handle it alone all by myself, but I got to know that I was wrong all along for thinking I could handle it alone.” Kayla explained to Sally, trying t

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 30

Kayla's POVThe moment I got back home, Sally was already in the house. I was wondering why she decided to come back home so early because on a normal day she's supposed to be back home late at night.“Hey.” I greeted her with a faint smile on my face, trying not to make it too obvious that there was something wrong with me, and I visited Ella earlier today.“You didn't tell me you were going somewhere.” Somehow I felt like it would be better to tell her the truth, but at the same time I didn't know how she was going to feel about knowing the truth that I visited Ella without telling her about it first. I decided not to tell her anything and just keep my mouth shut.“It came up all of a sudden, so I couldn't tell you about it before leaving the house.” I could tell there was something wrong with Sally because she didn't look happy while I was talking, and the expression on her face said it all—that there was something going on in her head that she wanted to tell me about.“You didn’t

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 29

Writer's POVKayla couldn't stop looking at her face; she couldn't believe that the main reason why Ella called her out was to tell her about the kind of person Zach is just so that both of them would not have any relationship with each other.“I hate it so much that I decided to come here and see you because I thought you would have something important to tell me about, but now I can see that you have nothing good to talk about and coming here is the biggest mistake I've made in a while.” Kayla said angrily as she was about to leave.“I only care about you, that is why I'm telling you the kind of person he is but if you still think I am not someone you can trust then you can go ahead and try. He's only going to use you; he's never going to fall in love with you.” Ella insisted and just then Justin walked in.Kayla opened her eyes wider than normal when she saw him walk into the restaurant. It started getting clearer to her that the reason why Ella called her here is not to tell her a
