Sally’s pov

I could not believe my ears when I heard Alicia’s voice. She clearly dropped her resignation letter and said she would never return to the company again, so I really don’t understand why she is here all of a sudden.

Both of us stood in front of each other, staring at each other dead in the eyes. I needed to understand her reason for being here. She betrayed me in a way that I never expected her to, so there's no way I’m going to forgive her even if she’s here to beg for my forgiveness.

“Are you not pleased to see your work, best friend?”

“Our friendship died the moment you chose to treat me the way you did.” I responded immediately. I just could not understand the reason why she came in the first place because both of us clearly don’t have any unfinished business.

“You know I kept asking you what I did wrong to you, but you never had any explanation to give me.”

“That’s because I have nothing to tell you.”

“Alicia! I really don’t get you. Both of us confided in each other

writer's povLucy finally called Justin, and he decided to involve the police immediately because he was scared that something bad might happen to her. He thought about it several times, and he couldn't think of anyone that Kayla has a misunderstanding with.Even when both of them were married, Kayla was usually a very peaceful person, so there is no one he could point his fingers at to be responsible for what is going on. He just decided to wait and see what the police had to say."I didn't call you because I want you to rekindle any relationship you have with Kayla. The only reason why I decided to inform you is because I want my friend home and safe. I don't want anything bad to happen to her, and you feel like the only one to help in that area. I am telling you this because I don't want you creating silly ideas in your head already.Lucy heard what Sally was saying to Justin; she couldn't blame Sally because she knows what Kayla has been through, and even if Justin didn't betray h

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 86

writer's povWhen Sally got back to the house, she could not get over the conversation she had with Alicia and the way she spoke to Mr. Kendrick before leaving work. She thought it was kind of rude to him, especially the fact that he is her boss. Even though Sally was trying to prevent a situation where it would look like she was misusing the relationship she has with Mr. Kendrick, she just couldn't be nice today because it was too much for her already.Even though she has a huge crush on Mr. Kendrick, it still hurts. Everyone thinks both of them are in a relationship, and she has to be the one to face the consequences.Kayla was yet to return, which was totally unlike her because she's not the type to return home very late, especially without giving any heads up about how long she is going to spend outside for the day. Sally was a little worried, but at the same time she had other things to be worried about, so she couldn't let Kayla's lateness worry her too much, or else she might j

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 84

Sally’s povAfter the little misunderstanding with Kayla, I started feeling bad because I thought I might have taken it too far and she might be upset. I know she meant well because of her experience with her ex, but I know that Kendrick is nothing like Justin, and he would never do such a thing to me.“Ughh.” I sighed because there was too much on my mind, and I still feel like I shouldn’t have said some things that I said to her.“She might really hate me right now.” I whispered to myself while I was still in deep thoughts.I stood up from where I was sitting and headed back inside the hospital, as I was hoping that both of us could finally have a conversation and end this unnecessary misunderstanding that both of us have, although I know that I am the reason for the misunderstanding because I failed to see where Kayla was coming from, and I also failed to understand that she definitely meant good for me and she doesn’t want me to make any mistake because she has already made mistak

Kayla's POVAfter my meeting with the investors, I headed back home immediately. They told me we would be having a special guest at the meeting, but unfortunately the guest was unable to make it, which made us round the meeting immediately.I know that this particular company has also invested in the gallery; maybe this is the best way to get back here because now it seems like my new gallery is getting to the level his own is at even though we built that gallery for more than 4 years now.“Hey.” I was surprised to see Sally at home because she is supposed to be at work and not at home, and it is very unlike her to spend the day at home when she is supposed to be at work.“What is going on? Why are you here and not at work?” I asked her curiously, and she just kept smiling like I was complimenting her beauty or something.“You aren't saying anything.”“Well, my boss said I should quit my work at the club.” I wasn't exactly pleased with that because both of them are not even an item ye

  • The Price Of Betrayal: A Matter of Revenge    Chapter 82

Writer's povWhen Justin drove into the compound, he saw Ella's car parked in the compound already, which makes it obvious that she has already returned home. He stormed inside a house angrily and slammed the door behind him.Ella heard the loud sound of the door and immediately stood up to see what was going on, but shockingly the person she saw standing in front of the devil was Justin, so she was wondering why he would slam the door like that. The noise attracted the attention of all the maids in the house, and they could already tell that their bosses were about to get into another very heated argument as usual.“Have you been drinking? Because there is no logical reason why you would slam the door like that.” Ella said to him angrily because she just couldn't understand the reason why he slammed the door like that.Justin stared at her face for a while and started laughing all of a sudden. Everyone was watching both of them; they're wondering what the misunderstanding is about th
