LOGINSasha's POV:
It was around two in the morning, when I was woken up through the mind link by my Father, 'GET UP NOW, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK’ my father said loudly. Emelda woke up quickly beside me and we looked at each other with confused, terrified faces. We then scrambled to our feet, and ran all the way downstairs, outside to the front of the packhouse. It was pure chaos. Pack members were running helter skelter, screaming and shouting. Some were with children in their hands. There were a lot of dead bodies of my pack and theirs… I was beyond shocked, like completely out of words. Like who would do this to us? We were a peaceful pack, we never made any enemies or even tried to start a war. I stood there, I could not process what was going on, everything was happening really fast and swift. The smell of blood was overwhelming, the screams were deafening, I could no longer hear, I was so lost and confused, the only question on my mind was simply ‘Why’. My mother mind linked me, ‘Sasha where are you sweetie?’, her panicked voice asked. ‘Mom, what is going on?’ I asked her. ‘Sweetheart, now is not the time to be asking questions, where are you?’. I didn't even realize I was crying until I fell to my knees, combing through my hair with my hands and discovered my hands were shaking. 'Sasha now is not the time to sulk and be weak, our people need us’.. my wolf Lina said. 'Tell me what to do,’ I asked her. "Give me control," she replied. So I shift into my wolf and let her take control. Lina started fighting, heck I don't even care if I die. I would gladly die with honor knowing I died while defending the people I love and cherish. I turned to see that Mel had also turned into her wolf and was fighting. We got near the border where the attack was mostly happening and mind linked my father, ‘Daddy where are you?’. No response. I was terrified. Please moon goddess, don't let anything happen to my family. Then I spotted my father and mother fighting alongside the Beta and his family (Mel's mum and brother Kyle). I joined the fight along with Mel, we were completely outnumbered. Like way out numbered. My father then noticed us and mind linked me, ‘SASHA, GET OUT OF HERE NOW. RUN’. ‘NO, I'M NOT LEAVING YOU GUYS OUT HERE ALONE. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY DADDY, I'M FIGHTING ALONGSIDE YOU GUYS’. He turned to me in his wolf form and shook his head. Just after that happened, Emelda's mom was bitten in the throat, with her neck in the other wolf's mouth, she mind linked everyone,’I love you Emelda Cassie Jones, and Kyle Adams Jones. I love you so much Alex, don't forget that, I love you all’. And her eyes went black. The wolf had ripped a chunk of her throat out, he then threw her lifeless body to the side like it was nothing. The next thing we heard broke my heart, it was Beta Alex howling in pain, for the loss of his mate, the loss of the love of his life, you could hear multiple howls laced in pain after this, it was our pack howls, the pain of losing someone close to us, someone that is like family. The howling stopped, then I turned to Mel in my wolf form rubbing my head against her neck to try and comfort her. At that point, my mother shifted back to her wolf form and ran down to us, ‘Sasha darling listen up… you and Emelda need to go…” she was abruptly cut off by someone. ‘Tsk Tsk Tsk, now now now, Mrs Vanders, if your pack could just comply with our new contract, this alliance would still be strong and this would never happen’. I turned to see the one person I would never have thought to see… XAVIER. Xavier is one of the few packs we have an alliance with. His father was a good friend of my father, they made an alliance to always keep each other's pack safe from external attacks. If one pack needs reinforcement, the other would jump in and help. They were our trusted ally. About two years ago, Xavier's mother died from a rogue attack which led to his father becoming lost (kinda like a lost soul, he is not dead). Once you've lost your mate, it's hard to remain sane, though it is not impossible. This ended up making Xavier an Alpha at the age of 22. It was always Xavier, Kyle, Emelda and I growing up. Every time Xavier came over to our pack with his father either for business or random visitations, we would always run around together, play video games and even see who was better at what games. Xavier was like the older brother I never had, he was someone I was comfortable with, someone I trusted. We even thought we would be mates at one point but when he turned 16, he knew we weren't mates which was better for me because like I said, I viewed him like an older brother I didn't have. ‘Xavier please let the girls go’,my mother pleaded with him. I was so confused, why was Xavier attacking and killing my pack, my pack was like his pack. We were neighbours, we were practically family. ‘You want to know why I'm attacking your pack Sasha?’,Xavier asked, turning to face me, I nodded my head up and down saying yes, seeing as I was still in my wolf form. ‘It was time to make a new contract, if we still need to be in Alliance, then your Alpha would need to give you up to me,to be my mate. You have Alpha blood, and I have Alpha blood, so our pups would grow up to be strong werewolves, so you see my dear, none of these would have happened if your father was to put his pack and duty as an Alpha first by giving you up rather than choosing to be a father first, this is all.your fault.’ I stood still, I was dumbfounded. I was brought back by my mother's piercing screams ‘Sasha Run’. I looked and saw one of Xavier's pack wolf lunges for my mother, grabbing her by the throat and before she could say anything else, snapped it thus killing her. It was easier because mom was in her human form. I heard my Dad howl in pain from the loss of his mate, his wolf going crazy, killing everyone from the other pack around him in a frenzy. I was frozen, My mother… the woman that gave birth to me, the woman that loves me unconditionally, the woman that taught me right from wrong, the woman that couldn't even hurt a fly, the woman with a pure heart. The woman that always had a smile on, one that always put her mate, her daughter and the pack first, before herself. The woman I truly love with all my heart…is gone. Gone in a blink of an eye and I couldn't even get to say goodbye. I was lost in my own little world. The screaming stopped, the vile smell of metallic blood also gone. Everything was gone, I couldn't wrap my head around what was happening. I was in serious shock. I was brought back to reality by my father, he was in human form. He probably changed back when he noticed I was having a mental breakdown. ‘Sasha, Emelda, leave, run until you can't run anymore. You guys need to leave now. I love you and your mother loves you too. We are definitely proud of the woman you are becoming. He said in his Alpha voice before morphing into his huge wolf. ‘No daddy, you can not do this to me, you are all I have left. Daddy please.’ but my legs were already moving on their own accord. A couple of Xavier's pack wolves lunged at us, but my father, Beta Alex and Kyle killed them before they got to us. We were running straight towards the border and just before we crossed it, I heard Xavier scream, ‘Sasha wherever you go, I will find you. I promise you that. And I will kill everyone that is helping you. MARK MY WORDS’. I took one last look at my home, a place I've called home for the whole 18 years of my life, the place that I grew up in, my pack, it is all gone. Houses were being burnt, dead wolves and children that didn't even grow up to experience having their own wolf. It was all my fault. Xavier's words were embedded in my head,’It's your fault…’ It is my fault. The Great Hall - Three Months LaterThe seasons had turned. The snow had now melted, revealing the lush green grounds of the estate. But the biggest change here wasn't even the weather; it was the atmosphere of the Smith territory. It had become more of a pilgrimage site. The Great Hall, which was once a cold, empty space that was used only for intimidation or to host galas, had now been transformed into a sort of sanctuary.Zara sat on a plush chair in the center of the room. She wore simple clothes; leggings and a tunic, but her presence alone filled the entire hall.A line of wolves stretched, even out the door on a long line. They came from the Rock River pack, the Mountain View pack, and even further. They came with old injuries, with sicknesses that modern medicine couldn't cure, with scars that wouldn't fade. There were all sorts of illnesses even as far as deformed wolves present just to get healed by the White One."Next," Zara said softly, calling out to the wolf that was ne
In the Estate Gardens - Twilight The snow had stopped falling, but the world was still fully dressed in white. The Smiths’ gardens, which was usually a manicured labyrinth of hedges and roses, were now a silent, crystal wonderland under the rising moon and melting snow. Alfred stood beneath the ancient oak tree in the very center of the garden. He wore his best suit, and had a book of pack laws held reverently in his hands. Alexander and Zara stood before him. There were no guests at all. There were no cameras either. The Council had all been sent home. The pack was gathered at the perimeter of the garden, hundreds of yards away, standing in respectful silence to give their Alpha and Luna this moment of privacy. The moment was left between the both of them to experience and savor. Zara shivered, but it was not from cold, rather, it was from the anticipation of what was about to happen between she and Alex. The white dress she wore seemed to catch the moonlight, making her gl
While pressing on his shoulders gently, despite his strong resistance and bleeding nose, his knees eventually hit the floor with a bone jarring thud. He then slumped forward, his two hands on the floor, gasping for air, with his forehead resting on her shoes. "I... I submit," Kane choked out. "Luna... please I submit." He said out loud, pleading. Zara held the pressure for a second longer, letting the moment burn deeply into their memories, a personal testament of who she is and what she was capable of doing. Then, she pulled it back. The golden light faded immediately, and the gravity in the room returned back to normal. The Alphas still stayed on the floor though, panting heavily despite the now regulated pressure in the room, and quite terrified to move from their positions on the floor. Zara turned and walked back to her seat. She sat down, crossing her legs and clasping her hands over them gently, staring at the men still crouching on the floor. Alex was leaning agai
"Alpha Kane," she said after a few seconds had passed. Her voice was calm, clear, and laced with a subtle harmonic vibration that made the water in the glass cups on the table ripple. "I believe you're sitting in my husband's seat." She said to him. Kane blinked. The sheer audacity stunned him for a second before he regained his composure. "Husband?" Kane repeated as if he could not believe his ears, as he turned to look at Alex. "You married the human?" He asked him. "Mated," Alex corrected, his voice low and dangerous. "Check your tone now, Kane. You are speaking to the Luna of the Shadow Sovereigns, of the Night Shadow Pack." He said to Kane, warning him quickly. Kane laughed. It was a harsh, barking sound. "A human Luna?" Kane sneered, looking around the table for support. "This is a joke, right? You can't be serious. Alex, you've broken the Code, the rules set in place for mating. Humans cannot hold rank. They are liabilities. They are weak." He said to Alex, sneering boldl
In the Master Suite - One Hour LaterThe dress Alex had picked for Zara was really white. It wasn't the flowing, ethereal silk dress of the gala night. This one was structured, looked more like royalty. It was a sheath of heavy, ivory crepe that hugged her body like an armor. It had long sleeves, a high neck, and a slit up the leg that allowed for movement. It was elegant, modern, and undeniably regal, just perfect for a Queen.Zara stood in front of the full length mirror in the room, admiring the dress and smoothing the fabric over her hips gently. She looked at her reflection. She looked for the frightened girl who used to hunch her shoulders to appear smaller. She looked for the girl that always wanted to stay invisible just so she could be safe from the hunters that were hunting her just for her blood. She looked for the barista from the campus cafe who always apologized for simply existing. She couldn't find her.The woman who stood in the mirror stood tall. Her chin was lifted.
By the next morning in the Master's Bedroom…Sunlight hit Zara's face as she woke up slowly. Her body ached, but it was a pleasant and welcomed ache. She felt... solid. Grounded. She reached out for Alex on the bed with her hand but his side of the bed beside her was empty. Immediately, panic flared for a microsecond in her mind, a sort of an old reflex.'I'm here babe,' Alex's voice spoke clearly in her mind, through the mind link. 'By the balcony.' He added.Zara blinked immediately. She sat up, clutching the sheet to cover her naked body. "Okay, that is going to take some getting used to." she said out loud, laughing a little. She then got out of bed, looking around for what to wear and finding a silk robe draped over the chair as she pulled it on before walking to the balcony doors to join him out there.Alex was standing outside, leaning against the stone railing. He was wearing loose pajama pants and nothing else, his well muscled body glistening in the morning sun. He was drink
Mel’s POV: All i heard was my Alpha screaming, but i didn’t pay attention to it much, I mean, he was always yelling at someone. His mood swings were really more than a girl on her cycle. But then, I saw Sasha running downstairs in tears, I stood up immediately,’Sasha, what happened? Talk to me’,
Damien's POV:Mate…What a stupid thing to have, it would only make you weaker. Because now, your enemies know your weak point and they would use it to attack you and bring you down. I didn't build up my pack to this point where it is the most feared pack in the whole werewolf kingdom to have it go
Sasha's POV:‘I can't believe you did this. I should have known you would pull this crap’, Mel yelled at me as she stormed into the cottage I'm staying in. ‘What? It is better this way. You have a mate, I can't just let you leave him and come stay with me’. I replied to her. ‘Why can't I stay with
Sasha's POV:The next morning, the door slammed open…’Wake Up’ urghhhh, I swear I can't even sleep in peacefully. ‘Can someone shut him up, fuck’, I groaned. ‘Ha, my absolute pleasure’, Mel said, all I heard was ‘fuck, what was that for?’. Well, that woke me up way faster, and I shot up from the be
