Meet Again

Currently Henzie is in a

taxi to her campus. She was half way there and in a few minutes she would be

there. Feeling quite bored, Henzie opened her bag and intended to take a novel

that she always carried with her everywhere. However, her hand suddenly stopped

when she felt something familiar. Henzie quickly took the object out. She found

a white handkerchief with a rose motif that looked clean and smelled good.

Based on her memory, last

night she had time to wash the handkerchief. And luckily it was dry this

morning, so she was able to return it today? She also doesn't know how to

return the handkerchief, if she doesn't know the owner at all.

‘I want to return this

handkerchief to you, but... I don't know who you are, and where you

live’ Henzie smelled the scent of the handkerchief. Alright, I hope someday

we'll meet again somewhere, and when that time comes, ‘I'll give it back to

you. Meanwhile, I'd better keep it’ she thought, putting the handkerchief

back into his bag.

"Miss, we have

arrived." The voice of the taxi driver brought Henzie back to her world.

She immediately looked outside and found that she was right in front of the

campus gate now.

"Ah yes, thank you,

sir. Here's the money," said Henzie politely as she handed several bills

to the driver.

After that he rushed out,

approached a blonde girl who seemed to have been waiting for her all this time.

"Arabella! Have you been waiting for me for a long?" Henzie asked,

grinning widely.

"I've been waiting

here for half an hour you know?! Look at me! It's mossy from waiting for you

all this time!" Arabella quipped slightly pursed her lips in annoyance to

see Henzie who had just arrived after thirty minutes of their appointment time.

"Ahahaha ... sorry.

I woke up late," said Henzie, laughing awkwardly, scratching her neck

which wasn't itchy.

"Y-yes, you always

do! Never mind, we'd better go straight to class," said Arabella, getting

a nod from Henzie.

***

"So what brought you

home early yesterday?" asked Arabella when they got into the classroom.

Henzie sat down on her

stool which was right in front of Arabella. Finished putting down the bag,

Henzie looked up to see Arabella who was already sitting on her own chair.

"Heum..."

Henzie started her story. "You know my childhood friend, Natalie Lim,

right?"

Arabella's forehead

furrowed for a split second. "Ah!"  after that the girl snapped

her fingers "I know!" Arabella replied confidently after that.

"Unexpectedly, it

turns out he's just a fake friend. She's not really friends with me. She's just

using me you know --"

"WHAT?!"

Arabella shouted loudly, interrupting Henzie's words and making some of the

class glare at her.

Noticing the scary stares

from her classmates, Henzie swiftly covered her blonde friend's mouth while

laughing awkwardly.

"Arabella, can you

turn your voice down a bit ? " Henzie whispered, succeeding in

making Arabella shrink.

Arabella swallowed hard. How

scary you are! her mind shuddered at the sinister whispering tone of

Henzie. Without further ado, Arabella immediately fell silent and lowered her voice again.

"So why do you think

that Natalie isn't really your friend, and is taking advantage of you? Even

though I can see that you're very close to her. Even after we got to know each

other and are friends, you're still close to her?" Arabella asked

curiously.

Yes, Arabella and Henzie

were close friends since they entered High School. You could say they are best

friends. However, Henzie also has friends who have also been close to her since

Kindergarten. And as far as Arabella knows, they are still very close even

though there is Arabella as Henzie's new best friend.

But for some reason,

Arabella felt a little displeased every time she saw the woman. Arabella could

see his gaze on Henzie was intense. There was envy in Henzie's little friend

Natalie's eyes, and Arabella didn't like it very much. Then now, who would have

thought! Arabella 's feeling was right. The girl was evil, she was just

jealous of the advantages that Henzie had. Perhaps because of that, Natalie

used Henzie solely for her own benefit.

Luckily, Natalie and

Henzie were not in the same major when they entered the University. So Arabella

wasn't too worried about Henzie's life ahead.

"That's why you came

home early yesterday?" Henzie nodded, confirming Arabella's question.

"Forget it! I didn't

like that girl from the start. You still have me after all," Arabella

smiled warmly, encouraging Henzie.

"Hn, thanks,

Arabella. You're right, I still have you." Henzie smiled warmly back at

Arabella, forgetting immediately her troubles yesterday.

After that Arabella and

Henzie talked for a long time. Well ... just daily pleasantries and jokes until

the bell for the start of class rings, forcing them to stop and focus on

studying.

***

The recess bell had rung

a few minutes ago. All students and students from various faculties, started

out of their respective classes and immediately went to the canteen.

"Arabella, let's sit

over there!" asked Henzie to point to one of the empty seats in the

cafeteria area.

"Okay!"

Arabella nodded. "Eh, wait! I'm going to order some food, what do you

want?" asked Arabella as Henzie was just about to walk away.

Henzie stopped and turned

her head. "One ice tea and a mini burger," Henzie said

to Arabella.

"Okay, you just wait

there. I'll catch up with you when the food is ready." Henzie replied with

a nod. After that she continued her steps towards the intended bench.

.

.

.

"Hey you! Get out of

here quickly! I saw this place empty before you!"

Henzie , who was focused

on her cell phone screen while waiting for Arabella, was startled by someone's

call. On reflex, Henzie immediately turned to the source of the voice. Henzie

was surprised to see a girl she knew very well with her trademark smug face,

now staring at her intently.

"Natalie?!"

Henzie stood up from her seat. "What the hell are you doing! I'm here

first! After all, there are still a lot of empty seats, why do you even want to

take my place?!" Henzie screamed in disapproval and glared back at Natalie

Lim.

Natalie growled in

annoyance, because Henzie stared back at her no less. "YOU!"

"Henzie!"

Arabella's cry was heard, but Henzie still didn't change her eyes from Natalie

Lim, her childhood friend. "Henzie, what happened?!" asked Arabella

who was already standing right next to Henzie.

"Heh! You're getting

closer to this blonde girl?!" Natalie quipped, looking Arabella up and

down.

"You!" After

realizing what happened. Arabella immediately growled, staring disapprovingly

at Natalie.

"What?! Want to

fight?!" Natalie said, pointing her hand to Arabella's face.

"Come on, who's

afraid!" Arabella replied.

The atmosphere was

getting hotter, making the people who were in the place so busy approaching

them. The people watched, not intending to interrupt the heated debate filled

with sarcastic shouts, until suddenly someone who shouted loudly, entered the

crowd.

"What the hell are

you guys doing?! Why are so many people gathering here?!"voice baritone instantly made the entire cafeteria turn to the owner. "Disband right

now!" the man's orders added, making the entire cafeteria squeak in

annoyance and forced to disperse.

After the atmosphere

began to calm down again, the man who owned the baritone turned to

Henzie, Arabella, and Natalie who were still at their place without being

disturbed at all.

"You three! Stop

arguing here!"

Thump!

Henzie gasped in surprise

when she saw the familiar look in her eyes. He... he wasn't... her mind

suddenly felt deja vu .

"You guys aren't

ashamed to make such a fuss in a public place like this, huh?! Isn't there

somewhere else -"

"She started it

first!" Arabella chimed in, cutting off what the man was about to say.

"Tsk! Why me?!"

Natalie chuckled.

"Yeah because you

were the one who started first --"

"Enough! Stop it!

You guys really have no shame in being noticed by everyone like this?!"

The man slashed Arabella's attack. "You better go, I know you started it

first," he continued, staring at Natalie flatly.

Natalie frowned.

"I?!" She pointed to herself, making the man nod confidently.

"Tch! Just watch out for you!" After that, Natalie left the cafeteria

feeling irritated.

"You..." Henzie

spoke, distracting Arabella as well as the man who had stopped their argument.

She stared at the man, making sure her guess wasn't wrong.

"Oh, hi! We, meet

again." The man smiled when he realized that Henzie was the girl he met in

the park yesterday. While Henzie immediately blushed at the man's sweet smile. He...

really was the man from yesterday, her mind guessed right.

"Henzie, who is

he?" Arabella came closer, whispering to her best friend.

"He--"

"Oh yeah, we haven't

met," the man cut in before Henzie finished speaking. He raised his hand,

stretched it out in front of Henzie. "My name is Kevin Tom. I'm a

sophomore student at this University. Nice to meet you," he continued

introducing himself.

"Ah yes, my name is

Henzie Van. I'm a first year student, fifth semester. N-nice to meet you too,

Senior," said Henzie a little nervously, returning the handshake of the

man named Kevin.

"Just call me

Kevin," Kevin said casually, letting go of their handshakes.

"Okay,

K-Kevin?" said Henzie.

"That's

better," Kevin replied, nodding his head. "And you... what's your

name?" Kevin pointed at Arabella who was standing motionless next to

Henzie. The blonde girl opened her mouth slightly, causing Henzie to nudge her

arm.

"Oh! I-I'm

Arabella." Arabella replied after waking up from her long daydream. She

smiled widely at Henzie after shaking hands with Kevin.

"So, want to eat

with me?" Kevin raised his eyebrows, offering Henzie and Arabella. The two

looked at each other, and soon nodded in unison.
