Wet Dream

I was running away from someone or something. Again.

My bones ached as I pushed my body to the limit. Cryinig out in pain I hit the ground - running. Only this time on all fours. My body shot forward faster than it ever had. My senses were hightened, making it easier to dodge trees and brush in my way.

I could do this. I could out run it. But I felt Max pulling me to the other side of the forest. The forbidden part.

The closer I got, the more I noticed Max's scent. Like a real wolf, I could track him. I felt a need to be there. His warm scent surrounded me.

I got to the end of the tree line and stopped. There was a little girl and little boy sitting looking up at the moon. The moon looked close enough to touch.

"Why us?" the children asked keeping their eyes forward and up, talking directly to the moon.

"Because it's your destiny." A haunting female voice said. It was like the voice had surrounded me.

"Why'd they have to go?" the children said in unison once again. They sounded so melancholy.

"To bring you back to one another again." The voice was melodic.

I laughed as the children made faces at one another, saying the other has cooties.

"They watch over you. They knew you were destined for great things."

"Like what?" The little girl stood up on her tippy toes trying to touch the moon.

"Yeah, like what?" The little boy followed but pulled her back from the edge of the cliff.

"You'll see."

I saw a large white wolf come close to me. I swore his eyes were the same as Max.

"Remember?"

"How can I hear you?" Oh right, it's a dream. None of this is real.

"It is real. It happened. Almost 15 years ago while both our families were on a vacation. We were so little then, but apparently still just as stubborn." That made me smile because it was so true. Max continued, "you needed to touch the moon to know Selene was really there."

I watched the kids argue over what kind of cake they'd have at their wedding.

"We never did come to a conclusion on that did we?"

"No, I just knew it couldn't be chocolate."

"Why's that?"

"Because dogs can't eat chocolate and they are decedents of wolves, like dogs are. Therefore chocolate equals death. And I wouldn't want to murder a majority of our wedding guests." I sat back and pushed myself into his soft fur.

"We can eat chocolate, but thank you for being so thoughtful about that, my Luna. You already show such care and respect for our kind." I could hear his heart beating.

"Chocolate also stains. And a white dress plus chocolate cake don't mix." I giggled but became super aware of how tense Max got when I said that.

"Funny. I didn't know you could wear white if you weren't a virgin." He huffed, trying to be chill about it but keenly aware that we weren't those little kids anymore.

I feigned surprise saying, "who says I'm not a virgin?!"

"Me. I plan on doing a lot of things with you, little mate. If you weren't so light on your feet and studious, I would have already..." His whole chest rumbled like a low grunt or growel sound even. It felt like a clap of thunder making me jump a bit.

"Already? What does that mean?" I challenged the large white alpha male wolf. Somehow I knew it was Max, but that made sense since I had seen him the day before. It's just a dream.

"You. I would have already taken you." I swear he winked. "Soon, little mate. Very soon."

He nuzzled his face into mine.

That was all I could remember before I woke up panting.

***

It was just a dream.

Not real.

I'm in my own bed.

I'm not a wolf.

When I looked down my tank top was dry, so were my sheets. Well for the most part.

Oh my god. I just had a wet dream.

Taking my sheets off the bed as I've done every morning for the past few months, I put them in the sink to soak so it looked like every other bundle of sheets I've brought down to start the laundry. My mom sighed when she noticed I had the sheets and my night clothes wrapped up in a ball ready for the washer.

"Another nightmare?"

"Mm-hmm." I nodded as I made my morning protein shake.

"That's weird because I could have sworn I heard moaning coming from your room early this morning." She winked at me. Protein shake almost shot out my nostrils.

"Please don't, mom. Ew!" We aren't Sex and The City women here, she's my mom - she should know better.

She laughed as I blushed harder. "That's all I'll say about it. Have a good day. Do NOT be late again today." My mom had her foot out the door when she saw a red corvette with a handsome young man waiting outside leaning on the car my mom shouted so we both could hear her, "Use protection, honey!"

She waved Max inside.

"MOM!" I choked on my smoothie. I wasn't going to be able to keep my breakfast down at this rate.

She closed the door, but not before allowing a certain someone inside. They exchanged 'good mornings' and she even gave me a thumbs up via text while getting into her car. I heard her car start up and she was off and on her way to work.

"Why are you here?" I bit at Max. Between my mom making me so red from embarassment to this stalker strolling into my front door like he owns the place - I'm ready to jump out of my skin.

"Picking you up for school." Max's eyes started to do that thing where they swirled darker but this time had more golden flecks coming out. It was like magic. "You need to get your sheets started. Like now. Right now."

"What the f-" How does he know these things?! I couldn't move, just stood in front of him in shock.

He didn't wait for me. He stalked over to the laundry machine, put in the detergent, and started it himself.

"Hey, I might have had stuff to add to that! Jerk!" I did not have anything to add and those sheets definitelly needed to be washed. How did he know without seeing the sheets in my hands? The shock died and I could move again.

"Hey, how about 'thanks for starting my laundry' or 'thanks for keeping your little head in check around the scent of your arousal', huh?" He took the empty cup from my hands and put it in the sink. "Ginny! There are dirty dishes in your sink and a load of laundry to be put through!"

How does he know about Ginny? Better yet, how does he know she's upstairs right now?

"Ginny doesn't do chores. She's too fragile." I sounded defensive of her. Even my stance with my arms crossed was defensive.

"Shame, but something I can manage. I'll get someone over here to do it." He said nonchalantly.

"What?! No! Uh uh. No way. Ginny doesn't trust anyone. She barely trusts me and my mom! And we're family."

"Ginny!" He yelled from the bottom of the steps. Quick as a bunny, her bright white head of hair popped out and her face color matched her white as a sheet hair. Honestly, she looked like she had seen a ghost. But one she recognized. It was a weird moment but Max continued, "Remember me? I'm Max. His grandson." She nodded and looked so forelorn. "I'm going to send someone over, someone trustworthy, to help with the house and some chores, okay?"

To my surprise she nodded her head again and told him that she would leave the door unlocked.

He tugged me by my arm out to his car. I waved bye to Ginny who was smiling. Two days in a row of Ginny smiling? Weird.

"Hey, how did you do that?" He opened the passagener side door and waited for me to get in before shutting it.

"Open the door?" He cocked his eyebrow at me before putting his classic Ray Bans on. "Simple, I used the handle. I thought you knew your way around cars." He smirked and revved the engine.
