Chapter 1: New Life

Evangeline groaned as she stretched her stiff body from the whole night sleeping.

The sound of her cell phone's ringing, brought her from her not-so-sound sleep and she reached her hand here and there, and searched for it.

She found it just next to her pillow and she pick up the call without care to take a glance at who was calling her.

"Hello?" Her sweet voice greeted the caller first.

"Eva? Hey, I'm so sorry for calling you so early in the morning, but this is urgent.."

"Lana? What is it?" She massage her aching head and sat up straight.

"My sister's due date is today and I need to look over my other two nephews, so I'll leave the bakery to you and old Jack. Is that okay?" Lana asked her with an apologetic tone.

She smiled, "Of course, you are my lady boss after all..." She chuckled.

"I know... I'll add this to your extra pay for this month."

"Sweet! Thanks, boss!" Eva said cheerfully and Lana laugh because of her cuteness.

She hung up the phone after the last few things Lana said and she woke up feeling refresh already.

Well, if it's not about the good sleep she got to feel that way, then it's about some cash.

Eva had a new goal in her life now.

Get as much money as she can and go for a good vacation.

She needed it. Very much.

She needed it to forget all the things about him that still linger in her head.

She looked at herself in the mirror.

It's been three years since that accident and she can't forget about it.

He's fine. He's truly fine.

She got the help he need just in time and he's fine.

But she left.

She left him.

She still heard his plead but she couldn't turn back to see him.

She was scared so much that she couldn't even look at his eyes.

She was scared of him and for him.

The way he acted that night was so different. So evil.

And she hurted him too.

That was not a healthy relationship for them and she decided to cut all the ties from him.

She tried to forget about him.

That was she trying to do all this time.

Eva sighed looking at herself in the mirror.

What Alex find so appealing about her?

She never thought herself 'that special' to be obsessed about.

So many pretty woman out there that even more dashing than her.

She has porcelain skin where the populars prefer tan.

Her body can not consider slim like a cat-walk model but she could see herself as a healthy human being.

She has short and small figure that almost everyone didn't believe her age was already twenty four this year. But that didn't go to her boobs. As they are 38 D cup. Thanks to her mom.

Round booty and her legs is like every russian girls' leg shape. Thanks to her dad.

Her almond eyes with brown color. So basic.

Her plump cheeks, pointed nose, long, wavy hair? Basic.

Well, may be she got that beauty. She then had the one hundred percent confidence. But when another tall, sexy girl come around, her confidence cut to almost half of it.

She sighed heavily for the umpteenth time in front of the mirror.

Just what did Alex saw in her.

She shook her head, tried to get rid thought of him in her head.

She shouldn't think about her ex anymore.

She took a bath and prepare herself for work.

Just before she left for work, the bell door ringing.

She opened the door after peeking at the door viewer.

"Hey babe, ready to work?" Leo came in to the view and stepped in as soon as the door opened.

Eva smiled. Leo was her current boyfriend.

She let him in and the hugged each other just like what lovers do.

Leo kissed her cheeks and she kissed him back.

"Yeah, you'll drop me off today?" She asked and he nodded with grinned on his handsome face.

"Of course, baby, anything for you. Here's your breakfast." He showed her a paper bag and she smiled softly.

"Thanks, Leo. You really don't have to..." She shook her head lightly.

"Nah. I want to do this. I'll do this forever. Anything for my girl." He moved closer and tried to kiss her lips but she move faster.

Eva grabbed the paper bag in his hand and Leo's lips landed on the top of her shoulder.

"Come on, I'm late already!" She said like nothing was happen, then walked out first.

Leaving Leo smiled in dissapointment.

She tried to get rid of Alex's shadow in her life.

This was one of her last effort.

Get herself a new boyfriend. But then, she felt guilty for it.

Leo is a good man.

Leo is older than her. Just a year younger than Alex.

He is way taller than her. Just a little bit shorter than Alex.

He is way muscular than her, of course. Just a little bit skinnier than Alex.

He is handsome. But Alex is more...

Wait. This is not right.

She supposed to get rid of him. But now she comparing him to her unemployed, spoiler boyfriend?

Leo is a good one for her. At least now.

So perfect human being like before was too good to be true.

Eva worked at a bakery shop and she loves it.

But she needed more money for her goal. So she sent multiple job applications and waited for their answers.

So far. Two had called her. One of them, she didn't feel like it will match her on the end. Another one, the boss was a pervert and she walked out the room even before the interview finished.

Till now, no call from the other job offers she sent.

Maybe she needed to sent other new emails.

She worked until the clock said it's time to wrap up and go home.

"Bue Jackie.. see you tomorrow.." She said it sweetly and the old kind man wave his goodbye.

He was a profesional baker. This bakery well-known for its chef kiss bread and pastry, because of him.

Eva walked on her way home and she was happy about it. She needed her time alone to enjoy this lovely side road.

The night was chilly but she wear enough clothes for her not feel cold.

She check her phone as she kept walking and she halted the moment she saw new email was receive a few hours ago.

"Thank you for applying for..." She read the email.

"We would like to invite you to come to our office at..."

She gasped and palmed her mouth.

"Oh my Gosh! Yes yes yes!" She jumped a little when she read it.

It was about a job interview and the schedule.

She walked home with her cute grin on her face.

Come to think about it, she never really tell Leo all about her acitivity. But the poor guy always support her. No matter what she did.

She smiled and took her phone. She dialed his number.

After couple ringing, he picked up the phone.

"Baby?" Leo's voice could be heard.

"Guest what, baby..." She said after cleared her throat. She needed time to get use to this but she had to.

On the other side, Leo was stunned to what he heard.

"Y-yes?" He stammered.

"I got a job interview!"
