Chapter Sixty Four.Anastasia's POV.Is it just me, being suspicious for no reason?Perhaps. That can only make sense. I have been questioning myself, but tonight I felt it again. I am outside with Kyra. We have just finished with today's activities, which involves nothing that we haven't been doing since I came back with her. Again, we went to the store, because we've eaten all the snacks in the house. Then, we went to the Cinema to rewatch Black Adam, at least, on that, I'm glad that we both love the movie. Afterward, we spent the remains of the day at the ice cream shop that's a few blocks away. Seemingly enough, which Kyra wouldn't agree with me, the guy at the shop likes her, but Kyra, on the other hand, finds him as someone she could tease and because of that, we are just going back home. When I checked the time, which was a few minutes ago, it says ten minutes after nine, in the evening. The sky has gotten darkened, and the black clouds spread all through. There is no moon
Chapter Sixty Six.Anastasia's POV."I should have been with you since that night and never allow him take you away, but I had no choice. Plus, I thought he wouldn't have risked making you ingest his venom," he begins. Seriously, everything in me wants to know who that person is, by asking him, but I want to be patient. I have a feeling he would get there, "and I am here now, because Werewolves are back on the outside. Calm down. I assure you, I'll get to the bottom of it all" he is quick to say when he sees me raise my brows. Okay, as much as that sounds weird, I don't entirely find it weird or as ridiculous as I am supposed to, since they are mythologies. Anyway, he continues, "they've been keeping themselves away from all trouble, but when the conflict between us and the Vampires started and roared to this stage, one of our sectors attacked a powerful pack of theirs and now, at first, when they came here, I thought they wanted to revenge on us and on the Vampires, but instead, they
Chapter Sixty Seven Anastasia's POV. "She is not supposed to be here." Says one of the disembodied voices. "I thought she was a witch." Says another voice from the many invisible ones of them. "No. Aurora has just selected her." There are many of them, so many that I feel like I am in a swarm filled with different voices of many presences. And as if that isn't strange enough, I can feel their aura. It is powerful , and it is pushing me downwards, into some kind of darkening pit. I am not scared as I used to be. I want to know everything. I have regained my memories and this time, I want to understand my dreams. Something is telling me that I would, soon. I listen to the voices, continuously. "She cannot be the next successor, can she?" "Impossible. She is a human." "Regardless, Aurora, the most powerful witch, had chosen her." "Why have you been chosen?!" Screams the last voice, and it is focused at me, as though, the presence is in front of me, and it sounded like it was j
Chapter Sixty Eight.Nicholas's POV.I close my eyes as I swallow the last content in the wine cup I have in my hands. The alcohol, mixed with blood, which is more than the alcohol, itself, makes it sticky to the glassy material. I lay my head on the study table. I am in my wing, having secluded myself from any stress, as I have told my men to take care of things by themselves. My face is solemn, as is my spirit. Hillary hasn't been talking to me since the time he arrived. He's angry for what I did to Anastasia. He doesn't believe that I did most of it to protect that. Rather, he believes I did it for my own interest, so she does not see me as evil. That may be true, and that may not be, but the fact that it protected her at all cost cannot be insignificant. I frown and bend the last content in the alcohol bottle in the air with levitation and use the air to cool it, having changed it atmosphere to an icy one, so the liquid become solid. Having done that, I changed the shape to o
Chapter.Nicholas's POV.Along the way, I drank from three humans to sustain my energy and speed even faster. Throughout the race to Anastasia's house, I could hear Hillary's footsteps behind me. And speaking of whom, he is just arriving. He is heaving, his chest roving ups and downs. "You really did not need to have followed me." I say to him, but he only rolls his eyes at me. Now that I am here, I focus my attention on the house. I can feel the force. It is one that I have little to no knowledge about. I narrow my eyes as I use my senses to take a whiff of the air. I can smell Anastasia's sweet scent. It is pungent and fills my sensors. I close my eyes and dwell in it for a second. At this moment, her condition has bettered. And by the way, I cannot just enter the house as Kira is using her witchery powers to protect it from any Werewolves or Vampires to come inside. Hunters, however, since they are just an advanced Human setting, they can walk in. And that is where Olivia should
Chapter Seventy. Nicholas's POV. I arrive at the Kingdom just a few seconds ago and stop at my Wing. To be frank, I need a bath of human blood to restore all of my strength, but that's no worries now. I lie Anastasia on my bed, making her comfortable and pull the blanket over her to create warmth. Her skin has gotten cold and since I'm not a creature that emits warmth, the breeze got hold of her. If she was awake, she'd be shivering. Quickly, I bite myself on the wrist and pour my blood into a cup, making sure that I don't pass any impurities abreast. Done, I breathe out, shakily. My body is weakening. My healing process has gotten slow. For example, my wrist hasn't finished healing, totally. However, I push through and make her drink my blood. When I reach into her mind again, I still cannot read her entirely, but I can feel her emotions, and she's been stabilized, utterly. Furthermore, something tells me that I won't be able to read her mind anymore, not even with the influ
Chapter Seventy One. Anastasias POV.I haven't slept peacefully, as I think I did overnight. My nerves all feel calm and when I open my eyes, the only distress is that I don't recognize where I am.I sit up on the bed and use the back of my palm to wipe away the sweats on my body. The room emits too much warmth that makes me a bit uncomfortable. I look around but cannot recognize anything. Wait, did I get drunk and made out in someone else's house overnight? I mean, that might also explain why I had a good night sleep. Who knows?I hear a voice and for a second, I freeze in the sitting position that I am. Oh, I have been hearing that same voice since, in my sleep. I think it is even the reason why I had woken up in the first place. There's another voice, too, and it seems they are arguing.I may be unfamiliar with anything, but then not of both voices. I hear Hillary says, "what do you want me to say? To start spilling everything, and you won't be able to control the monstrous part
Chapter Seventy Two.Anastasia's POV.Then, I arrive at the spot. I have been too hasty that the woman, making the cupcakes has seen me before I could hide. But anyway, I did, running behind a wall. I hold my breathe. She chuckles, "hey, I saw you already." When she states, I beat myself mentally before I come out from my hiding. She has the sweetest smile I have seen in a while, and she's so dazzling. Seriously, everything about her attracts me. I have stared too long that my brain has imagined her standing under the spotlight, which would so much justice to her elegance. I cannot help but feel calm and walk towards her. I join her at the open spaced kitchen. "Here, do you want to help me keep this inside the oven?" She asks me as she outstretches the tray containing many cupcakes. I nod my head, and without talking, I collect it from her and do the necessary. I come to stand in front of the worktop, but at the opposite side, to her, so now, we are facing each other with only
