The ceremony continued; sitting in the crowd, Kael was dumbfounded. He couldn't join in anymore or communicate with anyone. He stormed off to his private quarters, banging the door behind him.

Pacing around his room as Titan, his wolf, continued to growl within him. He started feeling the pain that comes with rejecting his mate and the emotional strain that follows.

Kael have never experienced this kind of feeling before.

Not only that, but he felt empty and cold inside his heart, mostly when she left the ceremony. He had rejected Lyra.

“I did the right thing, what was best for the pack. Why do I have this feeling that I've made the biggest mistake of my life?” He questioned himself.

Kael could see all that happened from his private quarters, the way the pack mocked and ridiculed her, how slender and alone she looked. The way Aaron frustrated and humiliated her. And how Liam stood up for her, it should have been him not Liam, but no, it wasn't.

“It's all because of me, I was the one who threw her into the hands of the wolves.” He muttered.

At this junction, Kael felt bad; “maybe I shouldn't have rejected her; perhaps I should have given her a chance.” He pondered.

The mate bond was pulling Kael and Titan, making it impossible to ignore Lyra's pain. “No!” he whispered to himself. I'm supposed to have a stronger mate, someone capable of handling the responsibilities of a Luna.

Then Titan's voice echoed within him: “She is ours, you stupid. You can't just throw her away.” He felt so frustrated: “She's weak, flimsy, and an Omega; I can't be with her.” Titan's growl deepens: “Weak?” he asked. “She is stronger than you think, Kael. Don't you feel it? The mate bond calls us.”

Keal gritted his teeth, struggling to put Titan's feelings aside and suppress the connection. The pain was too much; it could almost consume him.

Trying to clear his head, Beta Liam entered, his footsteps quiet and cautious.

“Really, I can't believe you let her be treated that way.” He said his voice sounding unclear and blaming.

Kael breathe out sharply, forcing an expressionless face. “She is not under my care, whatever they did to her, doesn't matter to me.”

Liam let out a playful laugh. “Indeed, so why did you keep an eye on her like your life relied on it?”

Kael gasp softly, saying nothing because he had no reply. He would rather not accept the fact that after rejecting her, he still felt a pull and it was consuming him.

“Alpha, I'm sorry to upset you, but have you forgotten the impact that comes with rejecting mates?” He continued.

“Alpha, I think the moon goddess paired you up with her for a reason. Have a rethink, please. If you can handle it, no problem, but I advise you to take her back.” Liam said, concluding his words.

“Okay, I've heard you.”

“I'll take my leave now.”

Amidst the chaos, Lyra made it to her room, which was dimly lit and shabby, her whole body was shivering. She collapsed on her mini-size bed sobbing and crying as she clasps her chest holding the remaining pieces of her life.

Lyra had nothing to hold unto anymore, her life was shattered. “He rejected me, the pack humiliated and mocked me, what else was left?” She asked herself, tears spilling down her face as the echoes of their words rung loud and clear.

“I, Alpha Kael, reject you, Omega Lyra, as my mate.”

“Oh please, she didn't think as an Omega, she will become our Luna.”

“I thought you should have run away with your tail in between your legs.”

These words kept ringing like a death's bell, they kept haunting like a nightmare. Lyra's heart ached so much, each sentence like a dagger piercing her heart; she so wished she never existed.

“Knock, knock.” A knock was heard from her door, waking Lyra from her thoughts. She quickly wiped her tears and forced a smile. “Come in.” She said.

Melinda walked in, her face twinged with worry. “Oh Lyra, your eyes are swollen, I'm sure you've been crying.” Mel said, taking her seat by Lyra's bed.

“What else is left to do?” Lyra replied as tears started flowing again, never leaving any drop.

“Don't worry, calm down, you will be okay.” Mel reassured.

“I appreciate your concern, if you don't mind, I'll like to be alone.” Lyra requested.

“Sure, no problem.” Mel replied.

She continued sobbing, then Crystal, her wolf said: “He doesn't deserve us.”

“But he's my mate; he is supposed to accept me.”

Crystal growled softly, “We are better than this. I can still feel him.” Crystal whispered. “His wolf is angry; he can't let us go.” “Crystal, are you sure? It was as if he felt nothing, the way he walked nonchalantly, not even caring about how I felt.” I continued.

“But wait I think you're right Crystal, I wouldn't let him break me.”

Kael sat on his soft giant size bed, the smell of wine filled the air as Natasha walked into his room with a pink colored robe, looking really sexy and attractive.

Natasha snuggled on his body, running her fingers and drawing circles on his chest. But Kael's mind was elsewhere, he was caught in a web of thinking about the rejection.

“You look so quiet, darling.” She mumbled, kissing his lips.

“You're distracted, and you aren't giving me any attention, What's on your mind?”

Kael breathe in calmly facing the ceiling as he couldn't look at her eyes. “Nothing special, my love.”

Natasha sneered mockingly, leaning on my shoulders. “That's not true, you're lying.”

He really didn't want to admit it, He would rather not accept the fact that I wanted to scream her name so badly and I'm sure Natasha was aware, she always knew.

“It's Lyra right? Why are you even thinking about her?” She asked her voice blaming.

Kael didn't answer, he had nothing to say.

She stood up from the bed, removing her pink robe. “Kael, you've rejected Lyra already, why are you behaving like she matters?”

He flickered his eyes, responding: “Yes, she did matter.”

Natasha let out a cold laugh, asking: “Did she matter? Or she still matters?”

“Which of them, uh!”

“I'm not sure,” Kael disclosed. “I'm not sure what's wrong with me.” He said, standing up suddenly.

Natasha became angry. “I'm your mate, right?” she said, her voice loud but clear. “You chose me not her, I am what you want.”

“You're what I thought I wanted, not the other way around.”

Quietness spread across the room as Natasha's facial expression darkened.

“You have to forget about Lyra and think of me.” Natasha said. “She's weak and useless, you mentioned it before. She can't stand as Luna, I'm a better option.”

Titan howled at her words, a growl almost escaping my throat. He shrugged it off, ruffling his hair. “I was wrong before.”

“Kael really?” Natasha replied, her voice full of irritation.

“I need some space.” He said wearing his pants.

Natasha kicked the bed, frustration evidence in her action. “How could you be doing this?” “It's like you're letting her separate us.”

“You have rejected her already, don't tell me to feel uneasy.”

He didn't reply, rather he strolled to the terrace, letting the cold breeze blow his face.

  • The Rebirth Of An Omega    Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Return of Rylan

The darkness was peaceful and quiet except for the rustling of leaves, movement of small creatures, and the wind that blew steadily. But this silence carried a hint of menace. It was a warning-like feeling that tingled through the surface of many yet was veiled. In this darkness stood Rylan, his wide physique mystic in the dark. His deep blue eyes, like the ocean, glowing in the forest. He was handsome; his profound jaw tightened. But his presence wasn't ordinary anymore; he had changed. This world had grooved him into what they call a rogue, a castaway, a betrayer, and a beast. Under all of these were flaws that no one dared to disclose. Rylan once belonged to a pack; he was the beta of the pack. Working alongside the Alpha, he was completely loyal to the pack, but the pack feared him, even the Alpha. It was another bright morning in the village Lyra resides in. Little by little Lyra was building herself training on the grounds. As her mind swirled past all she had suffered, she added more strength. “Stop! ”Elder Owen ordered, noticing how fierce she looked. Lyra inhaled deeply, calming herself down. She struck again, this time with agility, strength, and focus. Sweat was running down her back, evidence of how much effort she was putting in. “Child, you're getting better, but your reflexes are slow. You need to think faster than your opponent. Study your movement precisely as you act.” Elder Owen lectured, a sly smile on his lips; he is proud of Lyra. Lyra, exhausted and tired, sighed. “I'll retire now and continue tomorrow.” “Of course, go ahead

He stretched out his hands to reach for hers; Diana's body was weak, but she leaned on him. She looked at the man, his calm demeanor and chiseled jaw, and then his unfamiliar scent hit her, although it was soothing.“You're a member of the Silver Moon pack, right?” He inquired.“I'm not a member anymore; I've been exiled.” Diana replied with the little strength she had.“Oh, so that's the case.” The man responded.“You must be thirsty; drink this water.” She suggested offering her a bottle of water.Diana hesitated, but considering her current situation, she had to trust the stranger and drink the water. Immediately her tongue tasted the water; it rejoiced as her once dry throat had water flowing through it. Her thirst was high, so she finished the whole bottle.“Thank you; I'm grateful for your help.” Diana said, expressing her gratitude towards the man.“No need to worry; you’re in safe hands.” The man reassured her, holding onto her as they roamed the forest.“How much longer do w

ONE WEEK LATER Diana has been in a state of unrest, pacing around her room. Her mind has refused to remain calm. What her eyes had seen was tormenting, and she was stuck with what to do. Well, Kael and Natasha were back from their vacation. “Alpha, welcome back.” Liam said with a welcome gesture, shaking Kael's hand. “I'm glad to be back.” Kael replied. “Welcome back, Luna.” Liam greeted Natasha. She smiled and then walked in, heading to the Alpha's quarters. “Everything has been in control since you left, but there's one thing.” Liam said, lowering his voice. “The woman Diana has been doing some dirty business I believe might be of harm to the pack.” “I'm not so sure, but her communication with those outside the pack is alarming.” Liam reported to Kael. “We will look into that soon. I'll be in my quarters.” Kael said and left. Diana stood up from her bed sweating bullets, her heart beating rapidly, her lips pale, and her head aching. She paced in her room. Then decided in
