LOGINDamian's POV
“Put them on the desk.”I told Rowan immediately he entered with files in hand.
“These are the reports from the human branch managers and also there are reports of the financial review from the last quarter of the year.” He said as he placed them on my desk.
Then he remained rooted, giving me the cautious look he did give, anytime he sensed that I was on the verge of losing it.
“Anything else?” I said rubbing the bride of my nose.
He paused but later spoke. “There is also a meeting request from the Board of directors that they want an update on the new security system.”
“Later.” I said.
“Not now.”
My head was banging and it was probably because I had been sitting in the same spot since morning, going through the same routines of reading, signing and rejecting proposals but I still didn't stop working. Babel Tech Company was huge. It's funny how people thought it was just a normal tech company. They didn't have a glimpse of the truth of how werewolves were running the high-level operations.
Keeping our world hidden wasn't an easy task, especially with the ever meddling human government.
Rowan cleared his throat. “You haven’t eaten anything.”
“I will eat later.” I said reaching for the next document.
But before I could open the document, the door to my office opened wide, I looked up and saw Henry, he walked inside with a smirk on his face and I sighed.
“There you are.” He said with a smile then walked inside like he owned the place.
“I have been waiting downstairs for ten minutes and I knew you my friend would be buried under work again.”
“Because someone has to do it.” I replied.
He rolled his eyes. “Your whole life is work, you are going to grow old in that chair.”
“I am fine.”
Henry stared at me like I had said something stupid. “No, you are not and I am not letting you spend another night in this office.”
I ignored him and signed another page. “I have deadlines.”
“You have me.” He said, then he pulled the files away from my hands.
“Put that down.” I reached for the file but he moved it behind him.
“No you are coming with me.”
“I am not going anywhere.” I retorted.
Rowan then came forward. “Alpha, Sir Henry is right, some rest will help.” He said and I glared at him.
He stepped back immediately which resulted in Henry clapping his hands.“Even your Beta agrees with me so this is settled we are going.”
I groaned. “Where?”
“A club.” He said.
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
He folded his arms. “I am not asking, in fact I am just informing you.”
I exhaled slowly. “Henry-”
“You need to breathe, you need to see other people and women live something.”
I knew what he meant he wanted me to forget my scars he was trying.
“Fine, two hours and that's it.”
The loud music was the first thing that infuriated me the moment we entered the club. I didn't like loud places, there were always so many scents, too many eyes trying to pry.I stayed behind Henry as he weaved through the crowd, soon he dragged me to the VIP section.
“Sit, drink and relax Damian.” He said.
“I am here, that is enough.”
A woman then approached us with a smile and she looked at me first.
“Can I get you anything?” She asked.
“No, thank you.” I answered.
The woman walked away. Henry looked at me for a long time. He did not push further; he knew the limits.
It didn't take long when we heard Rowan's voice loud through the music that was blazing. He rushed towards us breathing heavily.
“Alpha, we have a problem!”
Henry stood up immediately. “What happened?”
Rowan looked at me. “Rogues, a large number of them, attacked Shadow Fang territory.” He said and everything inside me went still.
“When?” I asked.
“Thirty minutes ago.” Rowan answered, Henry was already grabbing his jacket.
“Let us go.”
I stood up I was calm on the outside but I was already burning on the inside. “How many were injured?"
“A lot but we don’t know the exact number yet.”
The pack grounds were chaotic and immediately I stepped down from the car. Bodies were all over the ground, blood stained the floor, some were limping, some were in their wolf form but broken.
My chest tightened at the sight Henry stepped out beside me. “Damn…”
I moved forward and my mind beat fastly These were my people, my responsibility. The elders were there already Elder Marcus was the first to stand up.
He stepped forward. “Alpha Damian.”
“Marcus.” I greeted.
“Look around you, this pack is not safe under your leadership.” He said and my stomach tightened.
“If you cannot protect your people, maybe you should not lead them.”
“Step down from your position as the Alpha, Damian.” Marcus said. Rowan stiffened, and Henry gave a warning growl.
Maddison's POVThe moment I pushed the front door open and I stepped inside slowly my entire fingers started trembling. I pulled my fingers away from the door knob and walked further inside. I was ashamed of myself, and I had to tell Fernando the truth no matter what.I won't be able to live with the guilt if I didn't tell him.“Fernando?” I called out, my voice cracked. “I’m home.” I called again but there was no answer.I stiffened when I heard muffled noises from the bedroom, I gulped nervously preparing what to tell him. I took cautious steps as I climbed the stairs, my heart pounding against its cage as I neared our room. But then I paused when I heard the unmistakable sound of a female voice, a very familiar one at that. I stiffened when I heard the sound of moans, my legs became wet and weak as I forced myself to walk forward. My chest tightened painfully when I reached the bedroom door, my hands trembled so badly that I could barely hold the handle.“Fernando…?” I whispered a
Maddison's POV“I am going to the hospital.” I said, as I watched Fernando dress. He turned around from the mirror, then glared at me. “What hospital?” He was annoyed.“Lisa wants me to go to a fertility clinic in the human territory. She said she wants answers that she has connections there.” I explained to him, hoping he would come back to the realization of the truth. But then he scoffed. “And why are you telling me?”I took a deep breath trying to muster up courage for what I was about to say. “Lisa blames me, she is saying I cannot give her pups.”“I thought you should explain to her the reason why I have not been pregnant.” I said and Fernando's eyes darkened. “Explain what?”“That you haven’t touched me in years.” I whispered sadly. He raised his voice immediately. “Are you blaming me now?” “No.” I said quickly.I adjusted my glasses. “Fernando I am just saying Lisa thinks something is wrong with me, she is insulting me if you can just talk to-”“So you want me to get into an

Maddison's POV“Fernando, please wait just let me talk, let me explain!” I cried out immediately as the door clicked shut behind us.Fernando brushed past me with a huge force, my eyes followed him as he walked upstairs with Liam in his arms who was sleeping. My heartbeat pounded heavily, I knew it, I knew dancing with the man was a bad idea.Fernando will always come up with something, will always see something that wasn't right. Deep down I prayed heavily that Fernando would calm down after putting Liam to bed.But I was wrong Fernando came back downstairs, he slammed the door so hard that I screamed, my legs bucked in fear and my lips started quivering.“Why did you answer him like that?” He asked in an angry tone.“Why did you look at him like that when you were dancing?” He asked again.“I didn't look at him like that Fernando.” I said.“You have to listen to me Fernando, I would not dare flirt with any man, you insisted that I dance with him.” My voice cracked at the end.Ferna
Maddison's POV“I am almost done please, just give me a minute.” I said quickly as Fernando pushed the door open.I flinched when the door slammed against the wall, my hands began to shake and I tried so hard to keep it stable. The foundation that I was applying had shown a different shade.I turned around and our eyes met, he was standing by the door, with a look that could kill his chest was up and down a sign that he was extremely angry.“Since morning, why are you not ready yet?!” He barked. “Do you even understand how important this meeting is?”“Or are you just trying to embarrass me again?”I gulped nervously not knowing how to answer any of the questions he threw at me. “No..no I am not trying to embarrass you I swear I just needed to cover-”“Cover what?” He cut me short.“If you had behaved properly in the first place, you would not have anything to hide.” He said in a cold voice.“I am sorry I will hurry.” I quickly apologized.I thought that would do the work but it didn
