Maddison's POV

“Fernando, please wait just let me talk, let me explain!” I cried out immediately as the door clicked shut behind us.

Fernando brushed past me with a huge force, my eyes followed him as he walked upstairs with Liam in his arms who was sleeping. My heartbeat pounded heavily, I knew it, I knew dancing with the man was a bad idea.

Fernando will always come up with something, will always see something that wasn't right. Deep down I prayed heavily that Fernando would calm down after putting Liam to bed.

But I was wrong Fernando came back downstairs, he slammed the door so hard that I screamed, my legs bucked in fear and my lips started quivering.

“Why did you answer him like that?”

He asked in an angry tone.

“Why did you look at him like that when you were dancing?” He asked again.

“I didn't look at him like that Fernando.” I said.

“You have to listen to me Fernando, I would not dare flirt with any man, you insisted that I dance with him.” My voice cracked at the end.

Fernando scoffed. “You are lying.”

I shook my head quickly. “No….Fernando, I did not look at him!”

But Fernando did not listen to me. He came closer and I took some steps backwards until I reached the sofa.

“Did  you think I did not see you?” He asked quietly.

“Dancing there like some-”

“No.” I cut in.

“Please, no the only thing I did with the man was dancing, something you clearly told me to-”

My words were cut short when Fernando suddenly grabbed my chin forcefully so I could look him in the eye.

“You embarrassed me in front of the entire hall.”

“Fernando you-”

His palm made contact with my cheek heavily and my head turned to the other side, my vision blurred for a while. The sting of the slap was so much that I could already taste the metallic flow of blood in my mouth.

I tried to lift up my head slowly but my movement was cut short when he slapped me again.

“You made me look like a fool.” He growled in my face.

“I did not!” I cried out, tears rolled down from my eyes heavily.

“Fernando, I did not what you are accusing me of something you and I know I can never do.” I said in a low voice.

But that only infuriated Fernando the more, he grabbed my hair instantly then pulled me forward with a hard impact my body couldn't take it anymore I lost my balance making my knees to kiss the floor the pain spread from my legs to my entire body.

I gasped in pain as I tried to breathe.

“Please….please, stop. Liam is upstairs he might hear.” I pleaded.

“You think you can use my son against me?”  He barked.

“You think I care what he hears?”

Fernando kicked me again over and over again. I tried to crawl away but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me up. I cried out when he twisted my shoulder.

“You want men to be looking at you?” He asked..

“Is that why you can not behave!” He yelled.

Fernando then drag me toward the sofa and pushed me against it. The force made me scream. He started beating me across my face and my body. He didn't stop until he saw that my eyes were closing on their own.

And the next thing I knew was that the darkness covered me.

I woke up the next morning on the floor and my cheek was swollen. My ribs were hurting but that wasn't the only thing that was wrong, the house was quiet.

I stood up slowly from the floor, then looked around the house, Liam's room was empty, his favourite toy wasn't there also

I checked the master bedroom Fernando’s clothes for the day were gone. His shoes were not on the rack and the bed was perfectly made.

He had taken Liam somewhere and they had left without me. The sound of my phone ringing pulled me away from my thoughts.

It was Fernando’s mother, the former Luna

I answered the phone quickly. “Good morning, ma.”

“Where are you coming to my house? I need to see you.” She said immediately I picked up.

“Yes, ma.” I answered and then she ended the call.

The first person I saw when I got to Lisa's place was Emma, Fernando's gamma who had been strangely getting closer to Lisa.

Before I could say anything else, Lisa waved her hand. “Emma, leave us alone. I want to talk to Maddison alone.”

Emma nodded and walked toward the door as she passed by me, she touched my arm gently. The spot she touched was bruised and the pain flared up instantly.

“Take care Luna.” She whispered and then left.

“What happened to your face?” Lisa asked when the door clicked shut.

“I… fell.” I whispered.

“You always fall, you need to be more careful, you look untidy.” She said in an irritated tone.

“But what should I even be expecting from an orphan?” Lisa whispered, but I heard it

She gestured for me to sit down and I adjusted my glasses in the process.

“Why are you still not pregnant Maddison?” Lisa said and I stiffened.

“It has been years, Maddison years since Liam. and then nothing do you expect me to accept that?”

“I am trying.” I whispered.

“No!” She yelled and I flinched.

“You are not trying enough aLuna must give her husband pups many pups strong pups to be specific.”

I couldn't look at her, couldn't tell her that the reason was because Fernando hadn't touched me in years.

Lisa stood up then went to the drawer, and then she came back with a white envelope.

She placed it on the table. “This is a VIP card for a fertility hospital in the human territory.” she said.

“You will go there, you will run every test and I want full results, and by results I mean pregnancy.”

My fingers trembled as I picked the card and rose to my feet, I turned around about to leave but called back.

“Maddison.”

I turned around and she stared at me. “You must stop disappointing my son, fix yourself, fix your face and get pregnant.”

“An orphan like you should be no better.” She said and my eyes clouded with tears.

  • The Reborn Luna   The Truth She Carried

Damian’s POV The woman stood at the bottom of the stairs, looking at Maddison as though she was seeing a ghost. I didn’t like the way she looked at her. There was too much guilt in her eyes. Too much history. Maddison hadn’t moved. She was staring at the woman like her mind was refusing to accept what she’d just heard. “Your mother didn’t die.” The words still hung heavily in the room. “She was taken.” Maddison’s lips parted, but nothing came out. I stepped slightly in front of her. “Who are you?” The woman looked at me. “My name is Clara Wells.” So this was her. The name we’d been chasing for the past day. The woman who had somehow been connected to Maddison’s mother, my father, and the secret surrounding Crescent Pack. I studied her carefully. “You said you helped Maddison’s mother disappear.” Clara nodded. “I did.” “Why?” Her eyes shifted toward Maddison. “Because if I hadn’t, she would have been killed.” Maddison finally spoke. “By who?” Clara looked down

  • The Reborn Luna   The Woman in the Photograph

Maddison’s POV I didn’t say anything after the guard finished speaking. I couldn’t. My mother’s name had always been something I carried quietly. I remembered very little about her now—the softness of her voice, the way she used to brush my hair before bed, the faint scent of flowers that always seemed to follow her around the house. Everything else had faded with time. But I remembered her death or at least, I remembered what I’d been told. “She died when you were six.” My father’s voice had been so certain back then. I had believed him because children believed their parents. Now I didn’t know what to believe. I sat down slowly, staring at the floor. “If she’s alive…” My voice broke. “Why didn’t she come for me?” Damian sat beside me. “I don’t know.” “Why didn’t she look for me?” “I don’t know, Maddison.” I looked at him, tears gathering in my eyes. “I hate that answer.” “I know.” His hand found mine again. This time, I held on. The guard shif

  • The Reborn Luna   The Things We Don’t Say

Maddison’s POV I kept staring at the name on the paper. Clara Wells. It meant nothing to me, yet something about it made the hairs on my arms rise. Damian had already taken the note back, his expression unreadable as he studied the handwriting. “Do you know her?” I asked. “No.” “Then why would someone leave her name with the guard?” “That’s what we’re going to find out.” He slipped the note into his pocket and turned toward Rowan. “Find everything you can about Clara Wells. Where she lives, who she’s connected to, when she left Crescent, all of it.” Rowan nodded. “Already working on it.” He started walking towards the door, then stopped. “There’s one more thing.” Damian looked at him. “The other missing guard hasn’t been found.” A quiet tension settled over the kitchen. “How long has he been missing now?” Damian asked. “Almost twelve hours.” “Keep searching.” Rowan left. I watched the door close behind him before looking back at Damian. “Do you

  • The Reborn Luna   The Woman Who Remembered

Damian’s POVI couldn’t sleep that night.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw the empty patrol vehicles sitting near the eastern gate. No blood. No signs of a struggle. Nothing that explained where two trained warriors could have disappeared to without a trace. The words in my father’s journal kept running through my mind.“Trust no one wearing the council crest”.I had spent most of my life believing my father died because he made enemies as Alpha. I had accepted that explanation because it was easier than questioning everything that happened before his death but now I wasn’t so sure.A soft knock came at the office door.I closed the journal.“Come in.”Maddison stepped inside. She was wearing one of my hoodies.I stared at her for a second longer than I should have. She noticed.“What?”“Nothing.”She looked down at herself.“Your hoodie is comfortable.”“I can see that.”She narrowed her eyes.“Are you complaining?”“No.”“Good.”She walked toward my desk and sat on the edge of it.

  • The Reborn Luna   A Name That Shouldn’t Be There

Maddison’s POVI stared at the page for so long that the letters began to blur.My father’s name was written in the same faded ink as Adrian Cross’s, carefully written in the visitor’s ledger as though it were the most ordinary thing in the world. It wasn’t.My father had never spoken about Crescent Pack unless it was necessary. He kept to himself, worked quietly, and believed problems were solved through patience instead of power. Even after I became Fernando’s mate, he rarely visited the pack house unless there was an official summon. So why was his name here? And why had he visited so many years before I ever met Fernando?“There has to be a mistake,” I whispered.Rowan shook his head. “I checked the original ledger twice. The handwriting is genuine.”I reached for the file with trembling fingers. There were four entries in total, spread across several years. Each visit had been approved by the same person.Lisa.My stomach tightened. The room felt smaller than it had a moment ago.

  • The Reborn Luna   The Man in the Dark

Damian’s POVThe flashlight disappeared. For a split second, the archive was swallowed by complete darkness. The only sounds were hurried footsteps echoing through the narrow aisles and the faint rustle of old documents as someone brushed against the shelves.“Rowan,” I called quietly.“I’m on your left.”“Henry?”“Still here.”The stranger had already reached the exit.I took off after him, weaving between rows of towering cabinets that held decades of Crescent Pack records. By the time I burst through the archive door, I caught only a glimpse of a dark figure disappearing around the corner of the administration building.“Stop!”The command echoed across the courtyard, but the man never looked back.He was fast—not like an ordinary wolf trying to escape, but like someone who already knew every inch of the grounds.I followed him through the empty streets of Crescent Pack. The morning sun had barely risen, leaving the roads deserted except for a few early patrols who stepped aside in
