Quack. Quack.

The next morning, Elowyn groggily opened her eyes, cursing out loud the noisy alarm that was impossible to ignore.

Who sets such a ringing tone to be honest?

After that little encounter with the two ladies around midnight, the three girls didn’t go to sleep that fast. They couldn’t help but try to analyze why those two had to come to their camper van despite their well profound reasons. As a result, they slept around 2 am, and in order to watch the so-called sunrise, Lizzy generously set the alarm around 4 am. That way, they can wake up early, prepare and climb the mountain in time.

Waking up, wasn’t just her alone but the other two also woke up, and they didn’t look pretty good.

Seeing Lizzy’s darkened expression, Elowyn’s anger vanished as she let out a chuckle.

It looked so funny, how a vampire could have such large dark circles. Weren’t they supposed to be the kind that never sleeps?

She didn’t dare say that out loud, but inwardly thought. However, that caught the attention of her ancestor who responded in mockery.

[If you ask that question, are you trying to remind her about being a hybrid?]

‘Tche, cool down. Ancestor. It’s not like I mean any bad. I think it’s good being a hybrid than a pure breed. Just look at her. both a vampire and a witch at the same time. She possesses both advantages of the two species. Tsk, tsk, how I wish I had other genes as well.’

She enviously told her ancestor, and that shut the ancestor up.

Despite being a descendant of both a seer and werewolf, Elowyn only inherited the seer genes with a twist.

At least, that was something compared to noting, especially in such a cruel world, right?

[Tche! Be grateful my child. Anyway, hurry up. You wouldn’t want to be messing with me the whole morning, would you?] the ancestor shooed her away with an exasperated tone which made her lips curl upwards.

It was fun having her around to be honest. At least, she wasn’t exactly alone, and that warms her every single time.

After teasing her ancestor, Elowyn started getting ready as she listened to Lizzy’s grumblings and in under twenty minutes, the three ladies were dressed tightly and ready to leave.

As they locked the camper van, Elowyn looked towards Bryssa and said in reminder, “darling, remember to keep an eye out. We wouldn’t want anyone tracing the mess for last night back to us,” her voice lowered.

Bryssa’s expression darkened when she heard that, and her gaze darted slightly around before she softened.

“Don’t worry. I will be careful. Let us not slip.”

She flashed a grin at Bryssa and confidently said, “never!” and Lizzy clicked her tongue upon hearing that, making all three of them to laugh heartily.

With everything prepared, the three of them started chatting animatedly, admiring the view.

Around that time, the sky was entering a nautical twilight, after transitioning from being generally dark. At this time, there was a faint glow from the eastern horizon, but the darkness hasn’t yet receded.

The stars were still in the sky, and looking at such scenery, how could the girls not love it?

They even took out their phones and snapped some HD photos as they made way to the noisy group waiting for those eager to see the sunrise.

“You made it!”

As soon as they approached the group, they were welcomed by Sara and Elowyn flashed a smile at the older woman.

“Sis, how can we miss it?” she coyly responded, while curing inwardly for being forced to wake up so early.

If only she hadn’t promised, then she would be sleeping peacefully right now.

As for the sunrise. Tche, it wasn’t like she hasn’t seen enough of it. Why be greedy for another one?

Unfortunately, eager to blend in, she readily agreed and now she was paying for it.

Sara grinned at the girls and cheerfully responded, “it’s a good view. You won’t regret it.”

Bryssa smiled back at Sara as she answered, “we heard so much about the good view. Couldn’t miss it for the world.”

The girls blended well with the others, and five minutes after their arrival, they started marching towards the mountain.

They weren’t going to climb the whole mountain but part of it. There was a platform around thirty minutes later on the mountain where they could watch a beautiful sunrise and take a lot of good pictures.

On the way to that platform, everyone was chatting fervently and animatedly.

“For this moment, I brought my brother’s camera. I should be able to take great pictures today.”

“I will help you take with you in the view as well.”

“Thanks, I will return the favor.”

“Damn, its quite chill this early. It’s been ages since I woke up this early.”

“Haha, isn’t this one of the reasons why we come to camping? How can you return home without enjoying a good sunrise?”

A lot of them were mostly concerned with the sunrise and taking nice pictures and yet in a group of three at the back, their conversation was quite different.

The small group consisted of two women and one man.

“Have you asked others?”

“Even if I ask, who will believe me?”

“That’s true. its wild that there could be wolves around here.”

“Not just them but I swear I heard gunshots. It was faint, but something obviously happened.”

“Do you think that anyone at the campsite might know?”

“Tche! Let us pretend like we didn’t hear it. Who knows if someone here knows something? What if those people misunderstand and think that we know or saw something?” another woman rationally spoke, making the other two shudder at the thought of such happening.

“Then …. Should we just pretend like we didn’t hear a single thing?” the other woman timidly asked and the other woman responded.

“Exactly. Let us just wait for hearsays. If something happened, it will never remain hidden. Trust me.”

The three quietly chatted, not knowing that in the group of people ahead, someone’s expression was already dark, and the veins on her hand were popping as she recalled the last message that she received before going to bed.

She wasn’t particularly happy at all.

Now comes the question; who sabotaged her well planned gig?

Elowyn generously waved her hand at Sara, understanding how tough it must be for this human.“It’s not a problem. It would have been worse if we haven’t showed up. Now that would have looked like we have just diched the plan and not kept to our promise. Thank you for coming over.”“As long as you find no fault. I am grateful.”After Sara made her own statement, Melinda also got down to hers.“Um, I miscalculated my period days. I was wondering if you have any extra pads or something. Anything for me to pass the night until its morning,” she shyly stated her course, and Sara finally understood why she was acting like that. But there were other campers at the site, why not go to them but to Elowyn?Elowyn didn’t have such thoughts as Sara. After hearing Melinda’s reason, she felt this weird emotion. It kind of reminded her of when she was still by herself in that forest, didn’t

Creak. The door of the camper van opened and the three girls dressed in black all entered sighing with relief.“Darn! This was simply so ….. ahhh, I hope that we won’t come across such scum in the future!” Lizzy disgustedly spoke, recalling the situation she saw in that basement.Elowyn chuckled as she walked towards the bathroom and answered, “such scum will never disappear. What we can do is continue to strive to eliminate them. If possible, find the real masterminds and rid of them.”Both girls nodded to that and watched as Elowyn stripped herself clean before entering the bathroom.“I think that we should start looking into the law enforcement as well. If we can’t afford to reveal ourselves, then at least getting rid of these filthy people, who use the law for their own wishes, would suffice. At least, we will be able to discreetly send evidence to them and let them do the job on our behal

‘It hurts!’ she patted her stifling chest as she looked at the women inside the cellar, all unconscious after she had spread the knock out drug. She couldn’t let any of these people see her face. Who knows what they might say? They were like superheroes. Perform a good deed and never taking on the credit.[It’s going to be fine with time.]‘With time? We have managed to save only few these past months, but who knows how many others have succumbed to such inhumane ending before we started this? Think about those who I can’t even see, who are getting taken and disappearing every single day. Just think about them.’Elowyn was so angry. She grew up with her mother, and their life was considered good. at least, she had never suffered.Despite growing up in the forest, living off the land, she wasn’t raised like some animal and had her principles.
