Nelly's POV

I was already standing outside when I saw Keiran’s father step out of the house, his expression unreadable as he made his way toward his car. His movements were slow and deliberate, like a man who had just made a tough decision but felt no remorse about it.

I glanced toward the front door, expecting Keiran to come storming out any second, but he didn’t. That was when I knew.

House arrest.

A smirk curled on my lips. Not the first time. His father had done this before, locking him inside like a caged beast when he deemed Keiran had gone too far. And judging by the way he walked out with that composed, almost smug look, Keiran must have royally pissed him off this time.

I made my way into the house, stepping over shards of broken glass and the remains of what was probably an expensive vase. The maids were huddled at the far end of the living room, their faces pale with worry, their eyes darting between Keiran and the mess he had created.

Keiran stood in the center of the d

Selene's POV The grand hall was a sea of glittering gowns and wolfish smiles, but none of it distracted me. My eyes roamed the crowd with silent precision, scanning for even the slightest sign of Gazelle. Or Leo.Neither had shown up yet, which only made my skin crawl more.I wasn’t sure what to expect, but that was the problem. Gazelle was clever—too clever to move openly, and Leo was just as dangerous, if not more. If they wanted to strike, it wouldn’t be loud. It would be calculated. Quiet. Lethal. My fingers brushed the edge of my dress. The dagger sewn into the lining was still there. Good.I had just turned to greet a couple from the Northern Pack when I saw her—Lora.Again.I almost sighed out loud. She walked toward me like she was on a mission. The same haughty expression painted across her face, her red dress clinging too tightly around her, screaming for attention. I already knew this wasn’t going to be a civil chat.I turned away, already beginning to walk off, but her

Ronan's POV The hallway buzzed with muted chatter and the scent of perfumed guests, but none of it reached me. My mind was too cluttered with what I knew, what I’d just confirmed, and what it meant for all of us. I led Elias and Luka away from the growing crowd and into one of the smaller council rooms behind the great hall. No guards. No ears.Just the three of us.I closed the door behind us and leaned against it for a moment, inhaling deeply before facing them. Elias was already pacing while Luka stood still, arms folded, watching me like he could already smell that something was wrong.“I assume this isn’t about drinks or hors d'oeuvres,” Luka said dryly.“No,” I said, stepping forward and placing my hands flat on the table between us. “It’s about Gazelle. And what Selene found out.”Both of them stilled.“She was digging through some of the old archives. Witches’ history—legends, spells, curses. She found records of a bloodline—witches who were banished centuries ago. Traito

Selene’s POV The soft brushes swept over my skin with practiced ease, the makeup artists murmuring among themselves about tones and contours. I sat still, half-listening, my eyes lingering on the open book sprawled on the velvet chair beside me, the old witches' text I had discovered in the library. The pages were aged and brittle, yet the power in the words still pulsed like a living thing. Every line I read about blood oaths and forgotten deities made me more certain, Gazelle wasn’t just a threat from the past. She was planning something dark. Something terrible. What did she truly want?My eyes shifted to the mirror as one of the artists fixed a strand of my hair. My reflection stared back: polished, regal, like a perfect doll. But beneath the gloss was tension humming under my skin like electricity. I could feel it. Something was coming.A knock came at the door, and one of the workers moved to open it.Then I heard the voice.“Selene.”Lora.I sat up straighter, tension snappin

Luka’s POV I was buttoning up my shirt, my eyes fixed on the mirror, when the door creaked open without a knock. Typical Lawrence, no sense of boundaries.“Busy?” he asked with a smug grin.I didn’t respond. Just kept working the buttons of my crisp black shirt until it clung snug to my body. We had a party tonight, and appearances mattered, even if I despised every second of it.Behind him, I caught a glimpse of movement. A woman, young, dressed in something that screamed forced elegance. Too polished. Too practiced. My brows furrowed. “Who the hell is she?”Lawrence stepped aside, gesturing to her like she was some prized auction item. “Her name’s Tessa. She’s important. Your date.”I scoffed. “ My date, huh? Then keep her leashed. I don’t need a date, and I’m not in the mood for matchmaking.”Lawrence smiled, that irritating smirk he wore when he thought he was being clever. “Come on, Luka. You’ve been alone too long. She’s just… company. Makes you look less cold.”“I am cold,” I

Ronan's POVI leaned back in my chair, fingers steepled under my chin as I studied Keiran from across my desk. The morning sun barely lit the edges of the room, casting sharp beams through the blinds. He looked tired, more than tired, actually. His eyes were heavy with a kind of weight that no night’s rest could fix.“You came early,” I said, trying to keep my voice even. “Why?”He rubbed his forehead, then dropped his hand to his lap. “It’s hard to say, Ronan. But I needed to speak with you in private. Nelly, my sex slave, told me something recently. At first, I dismissed it, thinking she was just being curious. But the more I investigate, the more I look into it…” He paused. “The more it begins to look like the truth.”My gut clenched. Keiran wasn’t the type to panic. If he were here, if he had come this early, it meant whatever he’d discovered couldn’t wait.“What truth?” I asked slowly, carefully. He looked up at me, and the fire in his eyes made my skin prickle.“I think my fathe

Luka's POV The sun was high when I finally stepped out of my third meeting for the day, feeling the pressure of work clinging to my shoulders like a second skin. The council had been on edge since word started spreading about traitors possibly lurking in the clans. I had barely had time to eat, but I was more eager to get home and rest than grab a late lunch.Just as I reached my car, my phone buzzed. Elias.I frowned slightly but picked up. “Yeah?”“Can we meet?” His voice sounded stressed.“Now?”“Yes. It’s… important.”I sighed and glanced at my watch. “Alright. The usual spot?”“Yeah.”I hung up and slid into the driver’s seat, the engine humming to life. I wasn’t sure what Elias wanted to talk about, but his tone wasn’t casual. Something was bothering him, something personal. When I got to the quiet clearing we usually used to meet, Elias was already there, leaning on his car with his arms crossed, his expression tight. I stepped out, walking up to him.“What’s going on?” I aske

Ronan's POV I hadn’t closed my eyes all night. The quiet hum of the surveillance monitors buzzed in the background, a dull reminder that time was still moving, even if I felt stuck. It was nearly morning, and I was still bent over the long conference table in the strategy room with the head of security. He stood across from me, pointing to the perimeter map. "We’ll station the outer patrols here and here," he said, tracing his finger along the eastern and southern lines. "There’ll be double guards near the guest house, and the clan entrances as you requested."I nodded but didn’t respond right away. My mind was somewhere else entirely, caught between duty and distraction.Selene.Every time I tried to focus, her face invaded my thoughts. The way she looked at me earlier, hurt and confused. I hated that I put that look on her face, but I didn’t know how to fix it either. I kept telling myself distance was safer, for her, for me, but each time she looked away from me like I didn’t exis

Selene's POV I sat on the edge of the bed, the phone still pressed to my ear even after Elias hung up.His voice had been off. Detached. And when I asked him what happened, he’d hesitated too long before giving me the vaguest response.“I won’t be able to attend the event with you anymore. Something came up.”Something came up?Something? Like what?I had pressed. Gently. Then a bit more directly. But all I got was, “I’m sorry, Selene.”And then, silence.I lowered the phone and stared at the screen, my heart twisting with a mixture of confusion and something that felt too close to disappointment. Elias had been… steady. Always there. The one person I felt I could count on.And now?He was disappearing, just like the rest of them.Just like Ronan.I inhaled deeply and wiped the corners of my eyes before standing up. Maybe some food would help. I hadn’t eaten since morning, and all the emotional whiplash was beginning to weigh on me.I tied a shawl around my shoulders and made my way

Elias POV The house was dark when I pulled into the driveway, but I didn’t get out immediately. I leaned back against the seat and stared blankly through the windshield. Gazelle’s voice echoed in my mind like a haunting melody I couldn’t shake.“He likes her. Ronan likes Selene. He just doesn’t know what to do with it.”I clenched the steering wheel tighter, my jaw flexing.I had suspected it for a while now, hadn’t I? The way Ronan looked at Selene when he thought no one was watching. The cold, quiet tension he brought into any room the moment Selene smiled at me. It wasn’t just his usual distance—there was something else. Something deeper.Possessiveness.Jealousy.And yet, he did nothing about it.I exhaled sharply and rubbed a hand over my face. What was I doing? Getting caught in the middle of a woman who might already belong to someone else, even if he was too much of a coward to claim her?I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to gather myself. But then a sleek, familiar car c
