LOGINMaliyla's POV
"Ahhhh!" I screamed, waking up in bed and realizing that I was dreaming. There was still a feeling of Erick's hands on my chest. My heart pounded in my chest as the remnants of the dream slowly faded away. I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the lingering unease, and reminded myself that it was just a dream. Yet, the sensation of Erick's touch lingered, leaving me confused.
"Bellissima, what is it?" Hector asked as he sat up and embraced me.
Taking a deep breath, I said, "It's nothing. Just a bad dream."
As Hector hugged me tighter, he said, "You're safe. I'm here." He pulled me back down to the bed, where I slipped into a deep sleep.
It was the sound of curtains opening that woke me up. Sunlight flooded into the room, and I winced. I awoke to see Jeanie rushing around the room as she did the day I arrived at Cr
Maliyla's POVIt was finally time for the Luna Ceremony or, as I had petitioned, the Ceremony of Honor. I awoke a little earlier than usual because I had to get to the venue on time and ensure everything was going according to plan. One of the most nerve-racking aspects of Luna's ceremony was decorating for a baby shower. As Katia hadn't yet revealed what her baby's gender was, I decided to get both pink and blue. As I told Kira, I wanted an entire section for Katia. In addition to rose pink, baby pink, and navy-blue balloons, two were personalized with the words BOY and GIRL. Food and baby items were placed on rose pink tables, and a small gold-colored strawberry shortcake cake was on display. Additionally, I bought a banner with gold letters that said "Congratulations." The banner was hung behind the food and baby items table. The table also had two teddy bears, one in blue and one in pink, in the center.
Maliyla's POVLearning about the financial side of the pack was extremely insightful. It never occurred to me how much went into it, but adding the financial details of Hector's businesses made the experience mind-blowing. As I learned more about him, my respect for him deepened. I had indicated to Hector that I would only take on this position if he placed me on the payroll. Things did not go well during that discussion.(Flashback)"Why the fuck would I put my mate on payroll? Are you aware of how people will react?" Hector asked."Are you aware of what people will say about me because I am your mate and Luna? Surely, there are more qualified candidates for this position, but here I am taking it from them. Those people will hate me!" I replied angrily."I don't give a fuck about what anyone says! Ultimately, it's my company, and
Hector's POVAfter Maliyla suggested that the Luna Ceremony be changed, she received a lot of criticism. The theory was the same, but I liked not having to invite all the surrounding packs, some of whom I had never met. Even though many Alphas and Lunas hated the change, I stood by my mate, so if anyone wanted to comment on it, they had to go through me.As soon as I heard about the baby shower idea, I contacted Kira to plan a honeymoon for Maliyla after the ceremony. I had yet to decide where I would take her, but I had one place in mind: Makatea. A small French Polynesian island off the coast of Tahiti, Makatea was ranked as one of the world's most beautiful and secluded destinations. This would be the perfect place to spend Maliyla and my honeymoon so that we could make lifelong memories.Daunte had come with Dominic primarily to train Katia. As a precaution, Jonathan requested I m
Maliyla's POVThe meeting with the High Council caught everyone's attention, and everyone had much to say about it. Numerous Alphas and Luna's refused to accept the recent changes in the Luna ceremony. It was noted that I was just a child scoffing at tradition. On the other hand, those like Daunte were more willing to adapt to changing times. We no longer had to invite every single pack, and the entire pack was not required to partake if you so chose. My dream was to have a small ceremony with my newfound family, friends, and pack members if they were keen to join us. Hector had referred me to Kira, the goddess of party planning. A true gem she was. With my list of ideas, she slowly put things together. There was only one thing we needed to discuss with Hector before moving forward. The idea was sure to throw everyone for a spin, yet Kira said it would be the most memorable night since no one had ever done it b
Maliyla's POVJust breathe... The words kept repeating in my head as I sat beside Hector. Although I tried not to look at them, the anger in my father's eyes clarified it that he was disappointed in me, which hurt me deeply. I had never known him to be disappointed in me. In his eyes, I was his only child his entire life, and the same was true for Mom. My mother and I did everything together: shopping, nails, and hair. My mom had taken Gisselle and me dress-shopping for the Wolf's Moon Gala. We spent hours looking for the right dress. My mother was supposed to be there on my wedding day, telling me how no other Luna had looked that beautiful before, sobbing with me, knowing that her baby girl was now grown up. I was supposed to hear my father lecture, threaten, and tell Hector he would kill him if he broke my heart. Throughout my childhood, I dreamed of my father walking me down the aisle and telling me how pro
Maliyla's POVI was emotionally drained when I woke up the morning of my parents' trial. I was scared and anxious, but I was also determined to be strong. Having allowed Erick to kick me out of the Blood Rose Pack without a reason, I knew they would be judged. The fact that they didn't ask for a trial and left me to die probably put the cherry on top. In my opinion, those weren't enough reasons for them to receive a harsh sentence, but then again, I didn't write the law. There were strict rules about packs banning members without cause from the high council. They would have to hold a meeting where one would have to prove they had a legitimate reason for doing so.When I got out of bed, I felt in a daze. Everything seemed to be moving at a snail's pace. As I prepared for the meeting, I felt dread in my bones."Maliyla," Hathor's voice echoed through my head.
