Damien's POV

I stared at my brooding friend, wishing there was some way that I could alleviate his pain, I understand that feeling, what is meant for a wolf to lose its mate, that suffocating crushing pain, I had felt that way when I lost Ophelia, a part of me just died along with her, I wish I was the one dead instead of her and waking up each morning to the memory of her demise was so unappealing. I patted his back,

"We'll get her back, at least your mate is still alive" he looked at me with eyes filled with pain, "it's more painful to live with your mate's hatred"

"I'm sorry man, I understand" he sighed tiredly and sat, "how's your patient"

"He's fine now, thanks to you, I was able to treat him"

"Now that he's fine, are you going back to the pack" I nodded at his question, "but after you've gotten back Ariana,"

"Thanks"
