I stilled the moment I heard the door click and sensed Alpha Kyo step inside.

Relief — awkward and unexpected — curled in my chest. Not warmth exactly, but something solid, something that kept the fear at arm’s length. Footsteps crossed the floor with measured precision; parchment rustled.

Scratch, scratch, scratch. The nib cut tiny rivers of ink into the parchment while his hand steadied mine. I couldn’t see the words, qqbut I let the motion carry me, trusting his direction if not his heart.

When the final flourish was done, he pulled the pen and paper away with a sudden snap. “My travel plans have changed,” he added, the parchment crackling. “I’ll be returning to Ironclaw tomorrow.”

I swallowed, throat dry. “So… we’ll be going together?”

The room fell still.A young warrior stood. "If the Goddess once walked among us, maybe she left something behind. A warning. A cure. A weapon."Lucas looked at him. "That’s what I believe. And I’m going to find it. Even if I walk alone."He didn’t.By dawn, a group of seven gathered at the edge of the Forbidden Lands - warriors, scouts. The trees were twisted and gnarled, like they were in agony. The air was icy cold, even as the sun rose. And there was an eerie silence - no birds singing. Nothing.Lucas took the first step. The journey was brutal. For three days, they moved through the shadowed woods, past bones of beasts long dead, markings etched in ancient stone, and whispers that seemed to echo from nowhereThe Heart of the Moon.So it was real. The wolf was eerily quiet, but it pulled him forward with a sense of reverence, not submission. Beyond the pedestal, a hidden chamber revealed itself, its entrance a glowing stone slit that opened like the earth's sigh. Lucas hesitated,

Lena stood in the doorway, her heart pounding like a drum as she took in the sight of Alpha Lucas. He was shirtless, water droplets still clinging to his chest from the shower, a towel draped lazily over his shoulders. His eyes locked onto hers, dark and intense, sending a shiver down her spine. She opened her mouth to greet him again, but he didn’t let her speak. He tossed the towel onto the floor, his gaze never leaving hers. "Who’s James to you?" His voice was low, almost a growl, and it made Lena’s stomach She swallowed hard, her voice barely above a whisper. "He’s my friend."Lucas stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. "I don’t want you with him anymore."Her heart skipped a beat. "Why?" she managed to ask, her voice trembling.Without warning, he closed the distance between them, his hand firm on her waist as he pulled her close. His body was warm against hers, and she could feel the power radiating from him. "Because you’re my mate, little she-wolf," he said, his voice a

25 Years Ago...The sun blazed overhead, casting its golden heat across the Blackmoon training grounds. Dust rose in clouds as warriors sparred in the center ring, their swords clashing in rhythmic violence. The clang of steel against steel echoed across the clearing. Children squealed and chased each other between the trees, their feet kicking up dry earth, laughter piercing the thick summer air. The scent of pine needles, crushed grass, and sweat clung to everything.Lena stood off to the side, her arms folded tightly against her chest. Though her body faced the sparring circle, her eyes searched the crowd for someone she hadn’t seen all day. She shifted uneasily, her dark curls clinging to her temples from the heat. Worry etched into her brow.James stood close—always close—his tall frame casting a shadow over her smaller one. His arm instinctively moved in front of her when someone jogged past too quickly. She frowned, brushing his arm aside. “I don’t need you to protect me,” she
