Celeste's POV

I saw it coming a second before it happened. That shift in Aiden's posture from the end of the ceremony was still there, and if anything it had grown more deliberate, more set.

When his eyes met mine again my wolf went completely still inside me, the way she only did when something was very, very wrong.

The elder was still speaking. The old words were still moving through the air around us. And then Aiden opened his mouth and everything in me stopped with it.

"We reject the Fourfold Bond."

His voice was calm. That was the part that hit hardest, not the words themselves but how steady he sounded saying them. Like he made his peace with this long before he walked out here today.

Jayden stood at his side and did not contradict him. That was his answer.

"Celeste Reed's bloodline is suspicious." Aiden's eyes stayed on me as he said it, which was somehow worse than if he had looked away.

"The Fourfold Bond is an insult to our standing as alphas of Ashen Hollow. We will not share our mate with two men from an outside pack."

"We reject this bond. We reject her."

The silence that followed was the kind you could feel on your skin.

I stood there and did not move. Time does something strange when your world is coming apart. It slows down and speeds up at the same time and you end up catching details you would never normally notice.

I was aware of the crowd around us. Every face I had grown up knowing. Every pack member who had watched me walk in here today dressed for the most important moment of my life.

I was aware of my father somewhere behind me.

I was aware of my own heartbeat, loud and strange in my ears. And I was aware of my wolf, who had gone so quiet inside me that I almost could not feel her.

I wanted these men. That was the thing sitting under everything else, the part I confessed to my father three days ago in the quiet of our living room. I wanted Aiden and Jayden with the kind of certainty you do not argue with, the kind that lives in your bones.

Standing here now with those words still hanging in the air between us, that want did not disappear. It just became something else. Something that hurt in a way I did not have a name for yet.

I took a breath and started to step back.

"She stays."

Mason's voice cut through the silence so cleanly it was like a door opening in a sealed room. I turned and he was already moving forward, his eyes not on Aiden or Jayden but on me, steady and certain.

Jason was beside him before Mason finished his next breath.

"Celeste Reed carries the Fourfold Bond." Mason stopped close enough that I could see the calm in his face, real calm, not performance. "We claim our half of it. Fully and without condition."

Jason looked at the crowd when he spoke and his voice carried the way alpha voices do when they mean every word. "She was never nothing. Anyone in this circle who watched what just happened and thought otherwise needs to look again."

The crowd did not move. The elder had gone quiet. Aiden and Jayden stood where they were and I did not look at them again after that.

Mason dropped his voice so it was just between us. "You don't have to stay here a second longer than you want to."

I nodded once. That was all I could manage right then and Mason did not ask for more than that.

***

I was packed within the hour.

I did not take much. Some clothes, the things on my desk that mattered, the photograph of my mother that sat on my windowsill. Everything else could wait or could stay. I was not coming back for any of it and I already knew that before I zipped the bag closed.

My father was in the hallway when I came out with my bag, leaning against the wall with his arms folded, and he straightened the moment he saw me. He did not say anything and I was grateful for that because I did not have anything left for words right then.

He just put his hand on my shoulder and we walked out together.

The pack grounds were quieter now. Most people had cleared from the ceremony space but there were still clusters of them watching as I came through with my bag. I felt their eyes and I let them look.

I kept my spine straight. I kept my chin up. I moved like a woman who had somewhere to be and nothing to apologize for, because that was the only way I knew how to do this.

Mason and Jason were waiting at the edge of the grounds near the car. Mason took my bag without asking and put it in the boot. Jason opened the door. No ceremony. No speech. Just two men making it easy for me to leave with my dignity intact.

I got in the car and closed the door and sat very still for a moment, just breathing.

My father squeezed my shoulder once through the window before he stepped back. His face was the last thing I let myself focus on before I turned forward and kept my eyes on the road.

Aiden and Jayden were somewhere behind us. I knew that the way I always knew where they were, that awareness in my chest that had never once let me forget them.

I did not turn around to find out where. The bond still hummed in my chest the way it always did, that pull toward them that three hundred years of sacred law had written into my blood, and I sat with it the whole drive out of Ashen Hollow territory.

I did not try to silence it. I did not try to reason with it.

I just let it hurt and kept my eyes looking forward. Some things you do not fight, you just carry them until you figure out what to do with them.

Celeste's POVJason pulled me in before I even finished stepping through the door. His mouth found mine immediately, warm and certain, and I giggled into the kiss before I could stop myself.I literally just said this. Standing in front of that mirror not five minutes ago, I said forty-five seconds at best, knowing full well he would do exactly this, and yet here I was, already losing the lip gloss and not even slightly upset about it.He walked me backward hard until my back hit the wall. The kiss turned rough right away, his tongue pushing deep, licking every bit of the gloss off my lips like he’d been waiting all day for it. I kissed him back just as hard, biting his bottom lip and sucking on it.“Knew you’d do that,” I whispered against his mouth. “Knew you’d lick it right off me.”He growled low in his chest and yanked my top over my head in one rough pull, throwing it aside. My bra followed just as fast. He shoved the cups down and his mouth was on my tits immediately, sucking

Celeste's POVThe estate felt quieter than usual when I walked in, the kind of quiet that settled differently when it was just one of them.I noticed it immediately, the particular stillness that came when only one of them was home. Jason was in the main sitting room when I found him, jacket off, sleeves rolled, looking like a man who was wrapping up something productive and only now allowing himself to stop.He looked up when I walked in. "Hey. How was it?""Good," I said, dropping my bag. "Long but good. Where is Mason?""Business ran over. He will be back much later tonight.""That is fine." I crossed the room and kissed him, warm and brief, and he held it for just a moment longer than I intended. "Neris cooked?""She did. But shower first." He gave me a look that was fond and faintly amused. "You have that end-of-day energy.""What does that mean?""It means go shower, Celeste." He said it plainly, like it was the most obvious instruction in the world. "Food will be waiting when

Celeste's POV"Yes," Vaelina said, without even a moment's hesitation. "Why not?"I stared at her. "That is your answer? Just yes, why not?""What other answer is there?" She leaned back in her chair with the full ease of someone who already made peace with the decision. "The thought of having both of them is already sending heat through my body just thinking about it." She fanned herself with one hand. "This is a problem. I need to find Rowan's number before I talk myself out of it."I laughed, shaking my head. "You are genuinely unhinged.""I prefer spontaneous."Before I could respond, Amaris appeared in the doorway, efficient and purposeful the way she always was when something needed handling."Celeste." She looked at me directly. "Torren is here to see you. He says it won't take long."I glanced up. "Tell him I'll be right out. Give me two minutes."Amaris nodded and disappeared.I looked at Vaelina. "Did you know he was coming today?""I didn't know anything," she said. "But u

Celeste's POVGetting back to Mercer and Vale after a week away felt strange in the small ways it always did.The familiar corridors, the coffee smell, the low morning hum of the office floor filling up around me. Everything exactly as I left it, which should have felt grounding but instead felt slightly like stepping back into a life that moved on without me and was now politely waiting for me to catch up.I settled at my desk, opened my files, and spent ten minutes pretending to review emails I was not yet ready to deal with.By the time Vaelina arrived I was on my second cup of coffee and significantly more functional. She spotted me the moment she walked through the door. She clearly waited for this since the moment I sent that message saying I was back, because she came straight across the floor without stopping at her own desk first, pulled out the chair beside me and sat down with the energy of someone who was done waiting, thoroughly done, for three whole days."Tell me every

Jayden's POVAiden was still looking at me like I said something alarming."Take a breath," I said. "It is not what you are thinking.""Then tell me what it is.""It is not about us." I kept my voice even. "The marriage offer is for Vivian."He blinked. Then the tension in his jaw loosened, just slightly. "Vivian.""Vivian," I confirmed. He turned and looked across the garden to where Jace was still sitting on the bench, watching us with the quiet attention of someone who already decided he was not going to miss whatever this was. Aiden raised a hand in his direction. Jace lifted his chin in acknowledgment and stayed exactly where he was, which was typical."We will talk later," Aiden said to him."I will be here," Jace said, and picked up his drink. We walked toward the main building together, Aiden falling into step beside me. His expression settled quickly into something more considered. I knew his exact pace when he was processing something significant, and this was clearly that

  • The Rejected Fourfold Luna: Fated to Two Alpha Twins    Chapter 47—Unannounced Proposals

Aiden's POVThe garden at Ashen Hollow was one of the few places I could think without half the pack finding a reason to appear. It was not a quiet place by nature. Birds, wind cutting through the trees, the distant sounds of the grounds staff moving through their morning. But it was open, and open was exactly what I needed when my head was running faster than I could settle it.A full hour passed before Jace found me.He dropped onto the bench across from me and took a moment just looking at me, with the expression he kept specifically for things he found genuinely amusing at my expense."You look terrible," he said finally."Thank you.""Worse than usual. Something happened.""Is that a question?""It is an observation." He leaned forward, elbows on his knees. "What happened?"I looked at him for a moment. Then I told him about the meeting at Mercer and Vale. All of it. The account, the way we walked in expecting a standard business interaction, the way the room shifted the moment
