The next morning, Grey and I set out for Montrose Pack after receiving news of a rogue attack. Upon our arrival, I was shocked at the sight we met. The rogues' attack had completely brought down the place. They left nothing standing. They had left so many survivors. Tears filled my eyes as I looked around. While this place had never been a home to me, it was still where I grew up and spent most of my life in, so it left me feeling broken.

As I got to the place where the Alpha’s mansion once stood, my vision became blurry with tears. Most of the building had been reduced to debris.

Remembering that my father used to keep a diary, I shifted into my wolf and sniffed the ground, searching for the book in the ruins. I moved through the rubble in my wolf form, my heightened senses picking up on scents, most of them being my father’s. As my paws trod upon the scorched ground, I spotted a fragment of charred wood that was etched with familiar markings and knew it was a scorched corner
