Phoebe's POV. 

I was already being skeptical about my stay here. Just finding out that the sister of Alpha who helped me had the exact attitude of Sasha and it scared me. 

Now I don't only have to contend with his sister but also this man I couldn't identify. He was grumpy and even tried to hit me. 

I supposed that I should be prepared for another hurt and violence in this place. Can't my life ever be free of hate and abuse? 

"Axel, get out of my way" He said in anger, I could see his veins popping slightly in his head. 

Was he that upset about my words? Did I talk too much? 

"Uncle, calm down. She is just a child like you said, please don't be too harsh with her; Teenagers get to do some disrespectful things because of their age" Axel said in my defense but respectfully. 

But I was no teenager to be abused anymore. I am an adult now and I could as well stand up for myself. 

"I am not a teenager, I know that I didn't say anything wrong to get you the slightest upset" I shot at him. 

Beta Axel turned and gave me such a glare that was enough to seal my lips from saying any more outrageous and atrocious things. 

"I don't care what she is but I want her out of here, right now!" He yelled in anger. 

Beta Axel shook his head in disapproval "I am sorry but you can't make her leave; the Alpha has given orders for her to remain here"

"Orders to keep a disgusting rogue in our midst" She ranted again, she had gained her voice back and maybe her right to bully me like Sasha did. 

I should have just kept quiet to avoid any more trouble but I was tired of being silent about every evil thing people find delight in doing to me. 

I realized that it was my silence that earned me more maltreatment in my former pack. 

My former pack… 

Did I consider myself to be part of the Red rose pack? Part of them and not Mark's pack anymore? 

Those questions, I knew could not have a positive reply because Alpha Kingston simply helped me because he was compassionate like rumors have it but that didn't mean that I was part of his pack or had any place here. 

"She better vanish from here, I don't want see her again" He stared balefully at me. 

His eyes scrutinizing my sickly body, disgust washed over his face. I felt bad about my present body and how I looked. Those evil people did a good job at ruining my beauty. Anything I was best known for; it was how beautiful and how much of a looker I was. 

He growled and walked away angrily, Alpha Kingston's sister gazed hatefully at me. I had never met her before or had she spotted me in her dreams before or rather her nightmares. 

I chuckled at my thoughts but it only angered her the more. 

"How dare you laugh? stupid!" She stepped forward to launch an attack at me but Beta Axel was able to secure her into his grip and take her out. 

I heaved a sigh of relief that they were already gone because I couldn't stand one more minute having them around. I still wondered who the old was and maybe how I had gone too far with my words. 

Even though I meant no harm and was trying to be a bit friendly in my own way. It turned out that things are not the same way here. 

He felt insulted and so what, he still didn't have a right to raise his hand on me like he was my father or something. 

I scoffed and sat back on the bed; I laid down on the bed and shut my ears to elude listening to loud arguments outside. 

My eyes were slowly closing when the door opened. I shot my eyes open, afraid that I might be killed in my sleep. 

I turned to see Beta Axel, he was really kind like Alpha Kingston. 

"Thank you" I smiled and sat up in discomfort. 

He gave me a little and positioned the pillows well behind my back. He stared at me for a few seconds then spoke. 

"Do you know who you just insulted?" Beta Axel asked and I pouted. 

"I didn't insult him, I only teased him. He was only being immature by taking my joke so seriously" I couldn't help but roll my eyes. 

Beta Axel grinned revealing his fine pearl teeth "That's Alpha Kingston's father" 

He dropped the bombshell and my hands flew to my mouth in shock. He was Alpha Kingston's father and I talked to him in such a manner. 

What have I done? 

"You shouldn't have talked to him like that, I know that you didn't say anything offensive but he is really grumpy and short tempered" Beta Axel explained. 

His words didn't make me feel any better, instead I felt worse because he was the Alpha of Red rose pack and could influence Alpha Kingston greatly. 

I think Beta Axel sensed my uneasiness, he then smiled. 

"You shouldn't be too worried, uncle might act all tough and cold but deep inside he is just like the Alpha. You don't have to be worried" Beta Axel reassured me with a smile. 

It did make me feel a bit better that he was supporting me but I couldn't help being tense. This wasn't a way to begin my temporary stay in the pack. 

"Is there any way I can apologize to him?" 

Beta Axel nodded and told me to apologize maybe another day, I agreed with him and he left me to rest. 

Rest! 

I wasn't able to relax, rest or sleep. When I kept quiet in Mark's pack I was taken advantage of and now that I have decided to speak; it has put me in a compromising situation. 

I turned and rolled on the bed that was much softer than anything I had ever slept on. I didn't even sleep on a bed sometimes; sometimes it was on the cold floor, on the grass… 

Someone suddenly walked in and it was Alpha Kingston, his dark orbs were focused on me but unlike before they were void of any concern but instead were filled with apprehension. 

He stepped forward and our gaze met, I wasn't able to break eye contact with him but my body was shaking out of fear, the actual fear of the unknown. 

"How are you?" Alpha Kingston asked with a tone that showed no true concern. 

"I feel better and you?" 

"I'm better than you could imagine, I believe that you can walk and talk properly now" Alpha Kingston said like a question, I didn't know if I should answer it or simply keep mute. 

"Yes, the doctors here have been taking good care of me and I am grateful" I smiled to ease the tension I was feeling inside 

"Since you are you are fit to walk and talk, there is no reason keeping you here any longer than today" 

My heart thumped in my chest as I listened to him. 

"You don't have to stay here anymore, you may leave '' Alpha Kingston said coldly and my heart stopped for a second. 

I would be returning to Mark's pack. My eyes instantly brimmed with tears.
