Chapter Eleven

ELSA'S POV.

I found myself in a dark and deserted place, the air was thick with the stench of fear and desperation. Suddenly, I saw her, a stranger, calling out to me, pleading for help. Her eyes were filled with terror as she ran towards me, her voice hoarse with desperation.

"Please, help me," she cried out, tears streaming down her face. "He's coming for me. I don't want to die."

I felt the weight of her fear crushing me, and I tried to run, but my feet were rooted to the spot. The stranger reached out to me, her fingers barely brushing mine before she disappeared into the darkness.

Suddenly, I saw my father, battered and bruised, begging for mercy. He was in the clutches of a monster, a monster that I know I should be able to defeat. But I was frozen, unable to move, unable to do anything as my father screamed in agony.

I felt a cold sweat break out on my skin as I watched the scene unfold before me. The monster loomed over my father, ready to deliver the final blow. I tried to scream, but no sound came out of my mouth. I tried to move, but my body was paralyzed.

I watched in horror as the monster struck the final blow, and my father fell to the ground, lifeless. The monster turned to face me, its eyes filled with malice, and I knew that I'm next.

I tried to run, but I still couldn't move. I tried to scream, but my voice failed me. It took a step forward, and I could feel its hot breath on my face. Its eyes bore into mine, and I felt a sense of utter hopelessness wash over me.

That was when I woke up, gasping for breath, my heart pounding in my chest. It took me a few moments to realize that it was just a nightmare, but the memory of it lingered, haunting me.

I sat up in my bed, my mind racing with questions.

The darkness of my room seemed to add to my fear. I was disoriented and confused, not sure where I was or what I should do. I tried to get up from my bed, but my legs felt like jelly, and I stumbled, almost falling.

I groped in the darkness, trying to find my bearings, but everything seemed to be shrouded in shadows. I felt like I was in a nightmare still, trapped in a world of darkness and confusion.

My breathing was still ragged, and I could feel the sweat pouring down my face. I knew I had to do something to calm myself down, to get out of this state of panic. But I didn't know what to do.

In the end, I did the only thing I could think of. I ran back to my bed and crawled under the sheets, like a child seeking refuge from the terrors of the night. I pulled the blankets over my head, hoping that they would protect me from whatever horrors lay outside.

I lay there for what felt like an eternity, my heart pounding in my chest, my breaths coming in short gasps. The silence of the night was oppressive, broken only by the sound of my breathing.

Eventually, I began to calm down, my breathing slowing, and my heart rate returning to normal. But the fear still lingered, a dark presence in the back of my mind. I knew I had to shake it off, to face whatever was out there, but I didn't know if I had the strength to do it.

As I lay in bed, my breathing slowly calmed down, and my eyes began to adjust to the darkness around me. I could make out the shapes of my furniture and the outlines of my windows. The shadows that had been so terrifying earlier now seem almost comforting.

I took a deep breath and steadied myself, telling myself that it was just a nightmare and that everything is okay. Slowly, I swung my legs off the bed and stood up. My legs felt shaky, but I forced myself to move forward.

I took a step forward, then another until I reached the door. I placed my hand on the doorknob, feeling the cold metal under my fingers. I turned the knob and the door creaked open. A sliver of light from the hallway spills into my room, illuminating it just enough to see where I'm going.

Taking another step forward and my eyes adjusted further to the dim light. I could see the hallway now, and I realized that I'd never felt so alone before. The only sounds were the creaking of the house settling and the sound of my breathing. My heart was pounding in my chest, and I felt like I'm being watched.

I took a few more steps, my senses on high alert, but nothing jumped out at me. I make it to the top of the stairs and peer down into the darkness below. The staircase looked like a black hole, and for a moment, I hesitated. But then, I took a deep breath and start down the stairs, one step at a time.

With each step, I felt a little more confident. I could see better now, and my eyes had adjusted to the darkness. I reach the bottom of the stairs, and I was in the main hall. I can see the front door, the kitchen, and the living room. Everything was still and quiet.

I walked towards the front door, thinking that maybe some fresh air will help calm me down. But when I reached the door, it was locked. I fumbled with the lock, my hands shaking, and finally managed to unlock it. I push the door open, and a cool breeze washes over me.

I tried to take deep breaths, but my chest was tight with fear. The sound of my heartbeat pounded in my ears like a drum, and every little sound made me jump. The wind rustling outside, the creaking of the old house, and the faint hum of the refrigerator, all seemed to be creeping in on me.

I couldn't shake off the feeling that someone or something was watching me, waiting for the right moment to pounce. My eyes darted around the room, scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. But every time I looked, there was nothing there, only the darkness staring back at me.

The hairs on my arms stood on end, and my skin felt like it was crawling. I felt trapped and vulnerable, like a cornered animal waiting for the inevitable attack. I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was being hunted.

My mind raced with the possibilities of what could be waiting for me in the dark.

I stood on the doorstep, looking out into the night. The moon was bright, and I could see the outline of the trees in the distance. For a moment, I forget about the nightmare and just stand there, taking in the beauty of the night.

But then, I heard a sound, and I turned around. My heart jumps into my throat as I see a figure standing in the shadows of the hall. I freeze, not knowing what to do.

I froze as soon as the cold hands grabbed my wrist. Fear surged through my veins, and I felt as if my heart would burst out of my chest. My hand was held firmly, and I tried to pull away, but it was futile. I was caught, and there was no way out.

I turned my head to see who or what had grabbed me, but there was no one there. It was as if the hand was coming from thin air, and I couldn't comprehend what was happening. I tried to scream, but my voice was caught in my throat.

The hand pulled me forward, and I stumbled, barely managing to keep my balance. The grip was tight, and I felt as if my bones would break under the pressure. The darkness around me seemed to close in, suffocating me, and the fear that had been slowly building inside me threatened to overwhelm me.

I tried to resist, but it was useless. The figure that had grabbed me was too strong, and it seemed to know where it was taking me. I was powerless, a mere pawn in its game, and I could do nothing but follow.

My mind raced, trying to think of a way out, but all I could see was darkness. It was as if I was trapped in a nightmare, unable to wake up. The fear inside me grew, and I felt as if I would lose my mind.
