Chapter Forty-One

Things were good between Rae and Keegan.

Their relationship was better than ever and there were days when she woke up with a full heart and a smile gracing her lips. She was genuinely happy. She felt happier than ever. In all her life, she couldn't remember being more content with a decision that she had made. Accepting the fact that she had feelings for him changed, essentially, everything for her. It was a weight off her shoulders.

But the closer they got to the date of the invasion, the more she worried. It was beginning to terrify her. Despite Keegan's confidence, a fight was a fight. There would be bloodshed and the unexpected should always be expected. He could find that the pack he knew had strengthened somehow and his few males wouldn't be enough. He got all the information from his friend but what if she was wrong? What if she was working with Negan against him? There were a lot of possibilities. A lot could go wrong. He could get hurt.
