Chapter Eighty-Two

They lied awake, staring at the ceiling of their bedroom.

Rae was beyond spent. Her body ached deliciously, and the sleep that hovered above her threatened to drag her under its murky waters at any moment.

Her fingers were interlocked with Keegan's. The warmth in them was unimaginable. He emanated enough heat to keep her warm. It was almost as if he was feverish all of the time.
