Jane

“Jane, let’s go to the mall and then hit the club,” Amira murmured suddenly, her eyes bright with excitement. “I don’t want you feeling sad after telling me your story about your mate.”

“I don’t feel like going, Amira,” I said quietly, pulling my hands up to my chest. “I want to stay home.”

I knew she was trying to make me feel better after I shared my painful experience with her. But honestly, I was already feeling good about my decision to leave all that hurt behind me and start a new, beautiful life.

A life far away from my father, from my old pack, and from that terrible alpha who was supposed to be my mate.

“No way, you need to have some fun, darling,” she said firmly, grabbing my hand and pulling me up. “Come on, let’s go to the mall. It’ll be good for you.”

“Okay, I’m ready for it,” I replied, letting her excitement start to lift my spirits. “Let’s go.”

We got ready quickly, and she drove us to the mall in her bright red car. Ella, who was Amira’s best friend, came with us

Amira.“You are already strong, Jane. You have fought with the strongest pack warrior, and you have won,” I muttered. My voice cracked with how much I believed this. “You’ve proven yourself a hundred times over. Please take a break from this everyday training, and stop punishing yourself like this.”“I don’t think so. What if I meet a stronger one? One that is stronger than my current self? Someone who can break me as easily as he did with words? Then what should I do? Should I wait and get myself killed? Should I let myself be destroyed again? I understand you, Amira,” she uttered.“I know you’re looking out for me, Amira. But I want you to try to understand me as well. If I don’t train, I will get killed by a powerful enemy. If I don’t become unbreakable, the next person who wants to hurt me will win.”Her reason was reasonable, but it was built on fear that broke my heart. I could see it now. She wasn’t training to become stronger. She was training to become immune to pain. She was

AmiraJane was trying to hide who her mate was. The silence between us felt heavy and thick. I could see the walls she had built around herself. These walls were made of secrets and shame.Every part of me wanted to break through those walls. I wanted to shake the truth from her lips. But I couldn’t do that.I wouldn’t become another person who forced her to speak. I wouldn’t become another voice asking for pieces of her soul when she wasn’t ready to give them.I didn’t want to force or bully her into telling us, either. I didn’t want her to hate me or stay away from me. But I couldn’t shake off the curiosity that ate at me like a living thing. The unease followed close behind. It whispered terrible things in my mind. From the little Jane had shared, he had sounded dangerous and cruel. He had sounded like a nightmare that came to life. The kind of monster who would look at someone as pure as Jane and choose to destroy instead of love.I worried about the impact he had had on her. I wa

His sharp stare felt like it was choking me, making it hard to breathe.Once more, he glared at me with a look that could kill. I knew he was only trying to scare me, but in that moment, I wasn’t afraid anymore.“We’re here to see the friendly fight between Jane and one of our best warrior, John. We’re here to see who is stronger,” Alpha Tommy announced, his voice carrying across the arena.Everyone cheered, filling the air with excited shouts. The crowd was thrilled, their voices creating a loud roar that echoed around us.Some chanted John’s name, showing their loyalty, while others shouted words of support for me.Their faces showed a mix of excitement and worry, creating an electric feeling charged with the thrill o

JaneThe next morning, I stood on the training grounds before the sun came up, my body shaking with nervous energy. This was my chance to change the broken girl I’d been into someone who could never be hurt like that again.“You’re early,” Alpha Tommy said as he came closer. “Good. That tells me you’re serious about this.”“I am,” I said, my voice steady despite the storm of feelings inside me. “I’ve never been more serious about anything in my life.”“Then let’s begin.”The training was brutal. Every muscle in my body screamed in pain as Alpha Tommy pushed me beyond what I thought I could do. My hands bled, my body hurt, but I wouldn’t quit.Every punch I threw carried the weight of my pain. Every time I dodged was powered by my determination to never be powerless again.“You’re stronger than I expected,” Alpha Tommy said after I managed to stay standing through another hard session. “Most people would have given up by now.”“I can’t give up,” I panted, wiping blood from my split lip

Jane.“What’s wrong, Jane?” Amira asked, her voice filled with concern. “Ever since we left the club, you’ve been unhappy and moody. What happened in there?”My chest felt tight, the weight of pain I couldn’t say out loud pressing against my ribs until I could barely breathe. How could I tell her?How could I explain that seeing him again had torn open wounds I thought were finally getting better? That his words—those mean, had made me want to scratch at my own skin just to feel something other than this heavy emptiness?“I’m fine,” I replied, trying to sound convincing. “Please... don’t worry about me.”“No.” Amira’s eyes probing mine as she grabbed my hands, her touch warm against my cold fingers. “I won’t take that answer. I can see you falling apart right in front of me. Please, Jane. Let me in. Let me help carry whatever’s hurting you so bad.”My throat burned with tears I wouldn’t let fall, and when I finally spoke, my voice was barely a whisper. “I saw him, Amira. My... my supp

JaneThe loud music pounded in my chest as I danced, but my heart was beating fast for a different reason. Him.Alpha Richard Brown stood across the busy club, staring right at me.Goddess, why does he still make me feel this way?My palms grew slick with sweat as memories crashed over me—his cold rejection, the humiliation, and the way he’d dismissed me like I was nothing.A mix of anger and longing swirled inside me—conflicting emotions that threatened to overwhelm me.My chest felt tight. Does he think I look good now? Does he want me? If he does, I’ll make him beg before I even think about taking him back.“What are you doing here? What the hell are you putting on?” His voice was loud over the music when he realized who I was. The girl he was about to talk to was the mate he had rejected. There was no longer desire in his gaze, only shock and something that looked dangerously close to disgust. The way he looked at me broke my heart all over again. My throat felt tight as I tried n
