LOGINHis men dragged me toward him. As I got closer, I could finally see his face. He was perfect. His long black hair fell over his shoulders, and his hazel eyes stared into mine so intensely that I had to look away.
"Do not look away!" he barked. He grabbed my face, forcing me to look at him. "You don’t smell like a wolf. Have you shifted yet?" I was too terrified to find my voice. "I must be deaf, because I don't hear a fucking answer!" he snapped. I felt a sharp blade graze my neck, one of his guards had moved behind me, ready to strike. "N-no, sir," I stammered. "I haven’t shifted yet." Disgust filled his eyes. He ran a hand through his hair and began to laugh like a madman. "Is this a joke? I am Calhoun Northman, the Demon Wolf, the Great Conqueror! And I am mated to this… pathetic omega?" Nearby, Derrick looked up in shock. Only a short time ago, Derrick had realized I was his fated mate and rejected me instantly. Now, he just kept his head down, too afraid to say a word. "I found her locked in a cell about to be raped Alpha." His Beta Damon spoke. "RAPED!" Calhoun flared in rage, "Who dared to touch what is mine? Bring him to me!" I was in shock. I was so sure he would reject me out right then and there like Derrick did. Instead, he actually seemed to care about what had happened to me. I couldn’t understand why he looked so worried or why he called me "mine." Damon dragged Derrick's gamma through the ground and tossed him at Calhoun's feet. Immediately like the coward he was, he crawled and began kissing the Alpha's feet. "P-please Alpha Calhoun, i didn't know she was yours. I thought she belonged to Derrick. I wouldn't dare touch her if I knew." He pleaded hitting his head repeatedly into the ground. "What do you mean?, she is my mate, how could she be Derrick's?" He turned his gaze to mine awaiting an answer. "I..I was mated to my alpha, but he rejected me." I replied remembering the sting and pain of his rejection. "I had heard of it before, but I didn't know it was possible." He glanced over at me again. He had a different look, like he was staring right through my clothes and fighting his primal urge to claim me. "You're a greedy man Derick, trying to take what belongs to me." He turned to the Alpha who couldn't lift his gaze, broken and defeated. "She isn't yours to take." He finally found his voice. "Everything that exists in this world is mine to take Derrick." Calhoun boasted arrogantly. "For-forgive me Alpha Calhoun." Liam mumbled under his breath. "No one touches what is mine and lives." Calhoun spoke coldly as Damon walked over to him with a golden sword. Calhoun picked and lifted the sword over his head. "Any last words?" "Alpha please....please spare me..pl.." he was silenced as Calhoun swung the sword and severed his head from his body. "What is your name?" He asked and I replied with a shaky voice trying to ignore the pool of blood. "Jinx." He handed the sword back to his beta. "Jinx?" His raised a brow, "That is a strange name for a lady." "It's a name given to me by my father, because I bring nothing but bad luck," I said lowering my gaze. "You remind me of my mother, Jinx. She was a weak woman just like you." He said shattering my heart. "Well Jinx, I want you to strip for me." He demanded and the blood drained out of my face, "Do not make me repeat myself." I turned back, there were at least over a dozen people including Derrick, Yvonne and Rebecca in this place. "I... I can't do that, you can kill me if you want but I won't strip naked in front of everyone." I defiled his orders, my arms were heavy and my knees were so weak that It felt like I was collapsing from fright. "You will do as you are told like a good little whore and strip!" He raised his hands to slap me and I flinched, "I do not do love little girl. If your body is as beautiful as your face, I intend to make you one of my whores. Now strip!" "NO!" I stood my ground. I did not know where the bravery had suddenly come from. Perhaps I was fed up with life itself. In a single day, I had been rejected and betrayed by the man I loved for years. Almost raped and publicly disrespected by my second chance mate. At this point I felt like the universe absolutely hated me. "I am your mate. I know your wolf wants me, I can hear it purring inside you. You should treat me with a little respect!" I challenged him and Calhoun glared at me like I had lost my mind. Calhoun grabbed me by the wrist closer to him. I felt his hot breath on my neck and it aroused me, "Listen pup! You're nothing to me! Mate?, that means nothing to me, you see that little bitch crying over there?" He pointed at a girl crying on her knees next to her father. "You and her have no difference to me. You're only hotter that's all. I do not want to be your mate." "And I do not want to be your mate either!" I cried out. A loud gasp echoed in the hall and I bit my tongue nervously realising I had spoken out of turn. But it was too late to take it all back as Alpha Calhoun had his hands pressed around my neck tightly making it difficult to breathe. "You want to die that badly huh?, very well I will grant you that wish!" He grinned tightening his grip and I could feel my limbs going numb. "Please...please Alpha do not kill me!" I struggled to say. I cursed myself. Even with everything I had gone through, deep down I still wanted to live. I didn't want to die. "I will do whatever you want...please just let me live." "Have you learnt your lesson?" he asked and I nodded, "Will you be a good little bitch and do as I say?" He added and again I nodded ashamed of myself. "I will. All I ask is you spare me...and my pack." I added and I could see the surprised expression on Derrick's face. I couldn't believe it either. Why had I risked my safety for the pack? They only ever caused me pain, yet I was still risking everything for them. Maybe it’s because, deep down, I just wanted them to love me. I wanted to be accepted as one of their own. That was all I ever wanted. "Very well, I will let you live and let that foolish Alpha have his pack back if you agree to become my breeder and produce an heir for me." Calhoun asked loosening his grip on me and closed the distance between us until I felt his hard erection poking my belly. My brain went numb intoxicated by his scent while his hands caressed my skin making the middle of my thighs heat up in excitement. "In ten seconds I will command my beta to take the men as slaves and their mates as whores for my men. You decide yes or no?" "1...2..3...4..8..." He began counting pacing around the room. I glanced over at Derrick, even though he had rejected me and was responsible for my father's death, I still loved him, it couldn't change in a single day. And the pack...I wanted to protect them, just like my parents once did when they led the pack. If this was the only way to save myself and the pack then so be it. "Yes I will become your breeder!" I shouted before he counted to ten. "Perfect. You made the right choice. Damon get the contract ready, I do not believe the word of this pretty little thing." He stated and I stared in suprise. A contract?, wasn't he taking it a little too far? "I will sort out everything here, and when I am done, we'll go back to my pack." He was about to leave and then stopped, "Oh and one more thing. How many men have you fucked?" "I'm still a virgin Alpha." I replied in a low voice. "Good girl. You cannot dare even look at another man once you sign this contract. It's a good thing, you already know how to keep your legs closed." He grinned at me, "No man is permitted to touch you. From this moment on, you are mine, mind, body and soul." He declared before exiting the room. He was dangerous, rude and cruel and I absolutely detested him. "I am sorry Jinx, please forgive me." Derrick spoke lowering his head in defeat. "You can’t go with him," he said. "You were mine first." I saw the pain in his eyes and felt his heart shifting. Was he upset because I now belonged to someone far more powerful than him? Was it jealousy or was it because I was willing to die for a pack that didn't deserve me? Whatever the reason, I loved seeing Derrick finally regret rejecting me. "And you rejected me Derrick, so fuck off! I hope we never meet again."Ten years later Ten years had drifted by like a long, peaceful dream. As I stood on the balcony of the great castle, looking out over the sprawling lands of our kingdom, I found it hard to believe how much my life had changed. Sometimes I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't still that broken little girl hiding in the shadows. I remembered being a lowly omega, the trash and outcast of the pack. I remembered the stinging pain of being rejected by Derrick, the man I thought was my destiny. Back then, I was a girl who had nothing and expected even less. Then came Calhoun the terrifying Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. When he first took me, I was paralyzed with fear. The rumors said he was a mindless, heartless monster who wanted nothing more than to see the earth soaked in blood. But the rumors were wrong. Behind the cold eyes and the sharp claws was a man who had been shattered by the world. I learned about his tragic past, how he had watched his mother die in a way that no
Azrael rose from the dirt like a nightmare that refused to end. His skin was bubbling where the light had touched him, and his broken wing dragged behind him like a dead weight, but the power radiating off him was still enough to make the air vibrate. He looked at the three of us a Moon Goddess, a Demon Wolf, and a mortal Alpha and he let out a laugh that sounded like a thousand dying screams. "You think you can defeat me with teamwork?" Azrael roared. "I am the darkness that existed before the you were born!" The battle began again, but this time it was different. We moved as one, even if the boys hated each other. Derrick was the first to move. He knew he couldn't match Azrael’s magic, so he used his speed and his sword. He lunged forward, his blade whistling through the air. He wasn't aiming to kill, he was aiming to distract. He slashed at Azrael’s legs, forcing the demon to look down. At the same time, Calhoun shifted into his massive dark wolf form again. He didn't just
I stared at Derrick’s back, my mind racing as I tried to process the scene in front of me. I was absolutely shocked to see him standing there, acting as a wall between me and the literal devil. He was putting his life on the line, facing a creature of ancient nightmares, just to keep me safe for a few more seconds. It was a strange, heavy feeling in my chest. I remembered everything Derrick had done to me. He had been responsible for so much pain in my life. He was the reason my father was gone, and he had been the one to shatter my heart into a million pieces after I had gathered the courage to confess my feelings to him. He had even been the one to sentence me to death, treating me like I was nothing. But seeing him now, bruised and bleeding but refusing to move, something shifted inside me. This act was so brave and so heroic that I felt a part of my old anger start to melt away. I couldn't forget the past, but in this moment of life and death, I found myself forgiving him.
The smoke from the light beam cleared, and for a heartbeat, I thought it was over But then, a low, guttural growl rose from the shadows of the darkened cave. Azrael crawled out of the crater my light had made. His skin was charred and peeling, and one of his massive wings hung limp and broken at his side, but his eyes were glowing with a terrifying, murderous purple flame. He wasn't dead. If anything, the pain had made him faster and more dangerous. "So," he hissed, spitting out a mouthful of black blood. "The Goddess finally decides to show her face. You think a little spark is enough to finish what started thousands of years ago?" He vanished in a blur of shadow and before I could even blink, he was right in front of me. His hand clamped around my throat, lifting me off the ground. The heat from his touch burned my skin like dry ice. I clawed at his wrist, but it felt like trying to break solid stone. I can't die here, I thought. If I die, Calhoun dies. If I die, he wins. M
The air didn't just turn cold, no it turned heavy, as if the oxygen itself had been replaced by the thick, suffocating scent of sulfur and ancient rot. Azrael didn't wait for a formal start to the fight. With a deafening roar that sounded like a mountain splitting in half, he launched himself forward. His massive demon wings snapped shut and then expanded with a force that sent a gale of wind screaming through the clearing, knocking me off my feet. Calhoun, in his massive dark wolf form, met him halfway. The collision was like two beasts hitting head on. The sound of their bodies slamming together was a sickening thud that shook the very foundation of the cave and I feared it might collapse if the baffle raged on. I scrambled to my back, my eyes wide as I watched the carnage. I had seen Calhoun fight before he was a whirlwind of teeth and claws, a god of the battlefield but Azrael was something else entirely. He wasn't just a monstrous powerful creature he was a force of n
"You truly believe that I wouldn't recognize you in this lifetime? That I would forget the very face of the woman who ruined me?" Azrael’s voice wasn’t just loud, it felt like a physical weight pressing down on the air, cold and suffocating. He glared straight at me with eyes that burned with an ancient, terrifying hatred. I stood there, frozen, my heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. I looked back at him, my mind a complete blur of confusion. I had no idea what he was talking about. I didn't know him, and I certainly didn't understand why he was looking at me as if I were his worst enemy. Before the silence could stretch any further, Calhoun stepped firmly in front of me. His broad shoulders blocked Azrael’s piercing gaze, acting as a human shield between me and the monster before us. Calhoun’s own stare was fixed on his father, sharp and unwavering. Despite the strength in his stance, I could see the slight tremor in his frame. My stomach knotted with worry.
The room was silent, except for the rhythmic clink of my silver shackles with every breath. Derrick watched me, not with love, but with the cold intensity of a collector admiring a prized trophy he’d finally locked away. "Why the chains, Derrick?" I asked, my voice cracking. "If you love me, if y
