Martinez's POV.
The entire Luis Mansion and half the pack had begun preparations for Sofia's arrival weeks before she came. It was irritating to see them prepare so much for that class arrogant creature, I love her aura and confidence but she prided herself above most men and female werewolves were meant to succumb to the male. Our first encounter was when I had gone to her pack to get my then-substitute mate, who happened to be her cousin. She didn't spare me a glance neither was I interested in her affairs. As fate would have it, she was chosen to be my mate and this gave me joy. I'd teach her how to maintain her status as a female. I'd heard the news of her being resilient and courageous. She'd gone to war when even make would hide that she was befitting to be my Luna. I wanted the union to be done quickly so I could assume my post as the alpha of the pack. Ever since my dad died I believed that he was murdered. That has been my goal. Her anticipated arrival came and she acknowledged the presence of everyone else at the table except me, again; she proved the rumors right.A distant cousin reminded her of my presence and she looked shocked to see me, our eyes met and I smirked at her. She was upset all of a sudden and left abruptly, Alesix suspects me of ruining her mood. And so I slept well and woke up this morning energized. I proceeded to the training ground for my normal routine and found my mate excitedly watching the men train so I decided to ruin her morning.Right now; she's defying my orders by telling the maid I dismissed to stay."Are you defying me? I want her out of here." I said calmly. She scoffed and eyed me."I want her to stay, and before you begin to rant about how you're the alpha to be and all the authority you hold, I'd have you know that Luna had personally gifted her to me which means she's under my control, and would obey only me. You'd be going against Luna if you insist otherwise." Sofia said daringly.I licked my bottom lip and took a step forward, she stood still and didn't flinch which I found fascinating."What's your name?" I averted my gaze from Sofia and asked the maid. The maid bowed her head as she trembled and couldn't look me in the face."Freya." She stuttered.I chuckled softly, reached out and was about to touch her hair when Sofia's hand came on mine and she slapped mine away. Greta's eyes widened in shock though her head was still going low. I was shocked but covered it with a smile."Feisty, I like that," I said smugly.Freya fell to her knees immediately."Forgive me My Lady but I must leave, please; I beg to leave you." Freya pleaded.I smirked and Sofia wasn't happy with it."Get up." She growled slowly."You may leave." I consented and Freya instantly dashed out of our presence."What do you mean by that?" She asked angrily."By what? Exercising my power?" I retorted and he snorted."You're exercising your power? Over a poor maid? Do you call that power? More like mockery, why don't you use your so-called power to do something better?" She sarcastically asked."Do tell me how to exercise my power, oh! I know! Train the maid and give a sword to lead us to the battlefield." I mocked. Her eyes darkened and she wore a murderous look, I had hit her where it hurt."At least my father did more than raise incompetent sons who can't ascend their father's throne and need a woman by his side to do that!" She spat bitterly.I clenched my fist, she was directly throwing the fact that I'm but an acting alpha to my face. I smiled coyly."Is that so? I wonder what it feels to have your pride as a man passed down to a woman, how do your people sleep well at night knowing that they're been ruled by a woman although there's an alpha present." I was insulted."That doesn't sound as bad as having a failed marriage, you couldn't keep your first wife, how on Earth are the people going to entrust this pack into your hands?" She blew hotly."They will, because I'm competent, to be honest; I think this union between us favors you more, seeing that your father gave you to me more like a present than a wife, do you want to know why? Because no one would ever want you!" I yelled."Is that why you rejected me at first?" She asked, her voice croaky and I scoffed."Do I need a reason to?" I threw back at her."Yes, you do! How dare you reject me, I am your mate!" She declared. Her voice attracted our attention to us and no one told them to leave before they did so we were left alone."I do as I please," I said nonchalantly. She snorted loudly."You're answerable to me." She declared."I'm not answerable to any weakling," I said as I eyed her disdainfully."That's not an excuse! Why in the goddess name would you reject your mate? Aren't you heartless?" She asked if she was on the brink of tears but I cared less."It's my choice Sofia." I insisted. For a split second, I could see tears form in her eyes but she fought it back and suddenly burst into mirthless laughter, I cocked my head sideways."You think you're some invincible gold that must be desired? You pride yourself above all and feel worthy of the ability to reject me? The truth is that you're just a beat-down version of an Omega, you couldn't ascend your father's throne and you're so bitter that you want everyone around to be as miserable as you." She spat venomously.EpilogueAuthor's POV Martinez rushed out of the pack house in desperation, he didn't have a certain direction but he knew that he had to find Sofia and his mother before anything happened to them. Martinez reached the streets but he stopped running, he closed his eyes and tried communicating with his mother through the mind link. 'Mother, where are you, please respond' Martinez pleaded inwardly and waited for a while but there was no response. He was about to walk again when he heard something through the mind link. 'She's about to throw me off the cliffMartinez's eyes widened when he heard this, he ran to the only place that had a waterfall and a cliff. He rushed to the place and he met Sofia there as well. His eyes widened when he saw Elena holding his mother's neck with a knife placed on it and worse, being close to the edge of the cliff. Martinez sauntered quickly to Sofia's side and she looked at him. "What are you doing here?" Sofia asked, worriedly. "I should be ask
Author's POV. Elena smiled to herself and lowered her knees beside him. "I have always wanted this for all the maltreatment which I endured with you, for all the times you cheated on me and secretly humiliated me" Elena smiled more broadly, relishing each second in which he slowly died. Elena traveled her hands to the spot where she stabbed him, she pulled out the knife and quickly stabbed him in the temple, straight into his brain. Alpha Jose gasped and his eyes remained wide open, he was dead. Elena chuckled and tears filled her eyes. She regretted wasting her time with such a person, spending so many years with such an appreciative fellow. Her life was truly a nightmare but now, Alesix would become the Alpha and they would become a happy family. Elena stood up and walked to the windows, she opened them and walked to the bathroom, she washed her hands and continued smiling to herself, in the mirror. She left the bathroom and quickly changed her clothes and disposed of the ol
Author's POV. Martinez was among the Rebels training them then he showed the older ones their next strategies for defeating Alpha Jose's army if they decided to retaliate against the death of their Alpha. Their first plan was to capture Alpha Jose and kill him, though Martinez knew that Alesix would not be in support of his plans but there was no other way. They would not only kill Alpha Jose but imprison Elena. Elena was surely in partnership with Alpha Jose in all his deeds and she had to be punished as well for supporting him. Martinez noticed something was wrong when he mentioned Elena's name, there was this strangeness among them and it didn't go unnoticed. Martinez had also noticed that they had been acting strange for a while, somewhat nervous and reluctant about a few things. He didn't ask them if anything was wrong because he wanted to avoid any awkward situation. He knew who to ask and he hoped that the person wouldn't lie to him. After discussing the strategies with
Author's POV. Sofia was about to speak again but Martinez covered her lips with his hand and placed his finger on his lips, telling her to be mute. Martinez wasn't scared of him catching them. He was prepared to kill him for the havoc he caused his family, Martinez wanted to eliminate him for the years of pain which he gave him. He would never forgive Alpha Jose for destroying the happiness in his life and treating his mother like a piece of dirt, all these years. The memories of how his father died came to his mind and it caused his anger to surge. Sofia, whose gaze was on the ceiling, looked at Martinex and was shocked to see blood dripping from his nose. It scared her to see such. Sofis tried speaking but Martinez shook his head and tightened his grasp on her lips. The footsteps suddenly halted and Sofia noticed that he began walking backwards. She heard a metal clang and then silence. Martinez looked up and noticed that Alpha Jose was gone as well. He wasn't relieved about
Author's POV. Sofia was stunned by what he said, she looked at him and it made her lose focus. Martinez's eyes were still widened as he released her hand and the lantern fell from his other hand. He lost the connection with her magic and couldn't see anything again. “Mother” Martinez panicked, tears were stinging his eyes as he tried to think about whom he just saw. It was like an imagination to him, or maybe a kind of illusion that was made to deceive him. His mother had lost her mind, she left and never returned. “I thought your mother was dead or rather missing, …this means…” Sofía trailed off in shock as it dawned on her that his mother was never missing. She was captured and kept in this place for several years. Sofia knew that the only culprit behind this was Alpha Jose. “She never disappeared, she never left me” his voice shook as painful tears dropped from his eyes. He had thought his mother left since she couldn't handle the grief, and he never hated her for it. He u
Author's POV. Elena's presence was domineering, and they were aware that she wasn't bluffing at all. They might love Sofia and support her ambition to become the Alpha, but they were afraid for their lives. Though they were going to challenge Alpha Jose and Luna Elena, but not in this form. They had Violetta, who was the youngest, and she lost her mother in such a gruesome manner. They couldn't allow Elena to kill the little child who hasn't started a future. The rebels felt disappointed by their cowardice but they were unable to sacrifice their families for a meaningless cause. If they had died at war, then it would have been for greater achievement, but that wasn't the case. “Now that you all are under my jurisdiction and authority, I need you to continue training with Sofia but at the last minute, you will abandon her” Elena ordered with a frown on her lips. The rebels weren't surprised by her evil instructions, but they were unhappy about the betrayal and hurt they would cau
