Chapter Three

Serena was sitting on the bed, it was their wedding night. Though once she thought she would just run away as Denzel was not there but thinking of meeting Mathew, she thought she could stay for a little longer and once she would meet Mathew, she would manage to let him free her and then she would live her life like she wanted.

The last time she saw Denzel was at the after party. Though she didn't want to, she was left with only one choice. But to think of him, she started remembering how he looked.

"He is quite handsome and those eyes of his… is he an actor? Ahh I think he is. Or maybe he is a messenger sent by God. No, he's my guardian angel, yeah it must be so. Once he lets me meet Mathew I'll thank him too," she thought.

But the men she saw and met in the night club and till now in her life, she never saw a decent guy. All the guys she met wanted her body. And true to say, Denzel was a guy too. Far more, he was a total stranger. What if he was a bad guy, he wanted to do something with her… What was he going to do with her, would she be able to save her virginity from him?

Lots of questions in her head. She was scared suddenly. Getting an idea, she smiled sinisterly. Then she got up and walked towards the door on her tiptoes. Just when she opened the door she saw Denzel standing in front of her.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

She smiled sheepishly and stepping backward she mumbled, "Escape or what…"

He seemed to understand her. As he stepped forward she stepped backwards. "What are you…"

"You can't escape so better not to waste your energy." Saying it, he walked in the room and he locked the door. Seeing him locking the door she widened her eyes, no it was not giving her a good feeling. She could only think that he was going to…

Feeling something bad was about to happen to her, she took a few steps away and crossed her arms over her chest and looked at him confidently.

"I just wanted to see the place around well, that's all."

"You'll get a lot of time to see this place in detail later." He shot in a cold tone.

"Lot of times? I won't." As she said it, he looked at her with those cold eyes but said nothing. Instead he walked towards the bed.

She quickly ran to the bed and took a pillow and hugged it tight. "You said you would let me see him. Where's Mathew?"

"Did I say that?" He sat on the bed and threw his suit aside. Then he started unbuttoning his shirt. Seeing this, she rolled her eyes and walked towards the door quickly.

"Are you a pervert? Did you really lie to me?"

He quickly grabbed her by her waist and threw her on the bed. She resisted but he was much stronger than her so struggling under him was her only option.

"Don't touch me. I'm someone else's wife!" As she said it, his blood started boiling. He squeezed her cheeks.

"If you don't want me to treat it as our first wedding night then you better not call yourself someone else… From the moment we got married you are my wife and I am your husband."

She was totally surprised, was he kidding, right?

"Stop kidding." She pinched him so he moved a bit. But he was still on top of her.

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Now, it was enough. Getting angry, she pushed him away with all her strength. "You lied to me! You are a liar! I'll never take you as my husband."

"Don't push your luck," he said walking towards her. She looked around, there was no weapon she could use as a shield to protect herself. She was not prepared as she didn't know that the handsome man would be a liar but she couldn't just stay there trapped by him, so she grabbed her throat herself tightly and threatened him.

"If you dare take another step I'll choke myself to death. I'll die in front of you, let's see if you want to be called a killer of your wife!"

He didn't care and chuckled. "Go ahead."

"You think I am joking? I've nobody to care for, if I die this world will still be the same as it is now. I can die." She grabbed her throat harder.

Denzel didn't expect it. "Fine. This room is yours." He left, turning around.

Sighing, she sat on the bed. She still didn't have any idea who he was but she knew that he lied to her, he was just a liar. A businessman or anything like that? She was not interested to know about it anymore. Taking a look around, she laid on the soft bed where the rose petals spread their softness and hugged her.

The wedding night, it was supposed to be something different unlike she thought. She didn't have many expectations but why a replaced groom? And he even didn't agree that he said he would let her meet Mathew.

She closed her eyes, and didn't want to think much more.

Denzel got himself into another room. Under the shower he had only a face to remember and it was Serena, his wife. He didn't really plan to make love with her tonight but when she called herself someone else's wife he couldn't control his anger. He married her so in any way she was his. Whether she wanted to give in or not, the final say belonged to him only.

And letting her leave? There was no way it was going to happen until his plan would be successful.

He decided to give her some time so she would be obedient.

"Sir, please open the door. The bride has run away."

The next morning, someone kept knocking at the door when he was still sleeping. Nobody ever tried to take him up like that as they knew what they would suffer later for doing so but why today? Getting up he opened the door.

"Did you forget your manners or I should—"

"The bride has run away…" the servant announced, trembling in fear.

Yesterday night, they were happy thinking that finally their cold-blooded boss got married but as they woke up in the morning they found out she left the mansion already.

"What?" As soon as he heard him, he grabbed his collar. "What the hell were you guys doing? Didn't I tell you to stay alert?"

"Sorry, Sir, please forgive me."

He threw him angrily. "If something happens to her, be ready to go to hell!"

He ordered to his bodyguards to stay alert as he knew Serena would try to do something stupid. He was not going to let anybody off if something would happen to her, even if it was his bodyguards.

"Are you waiting for me to shoot you? Go and find her!" He shouted angrily.

**

Serena was tired already. She had been running for half an hour already but she didn't even know where she could go. Though she was helpless, she could at least run from that man. Why would he marry her in the first place? Even though what he said made sense, something was strange.

If Mathew was to do like Denzel told her then he could just send her a message. Instead why would he roam around the bush? Serena could feel something was wrong, something was fishy.

"My legs hurt… I'm tired." She looked around. What she could see so far was unending roads, but she didn't have money nor did she have anything else with her except her cellphone. She couldn't go to her Uncle's house.

She felt like crying, she was pathetic. She was about to cross the road but all of a sudden a car hit her. Her eyes were closing, blood was dripping from her head and soon her world darkened.
