Nick’s POV

The more I looked at the woman beside me the harder it was for me to believe that she was really the one I had married.

It seemed almost impossible to believe that within a day I had thought that I had just flipped and taken a complete 180.

No, I had to find a way to soften her heart.

Perhaps I've been a little too cold recently, I just need to be sweet with her a little bit and she'll be wrapped around my fingers again like she never left.

I tried to reach to touch her but she pulled away as if I carried a plague on my palm, that hit me like a blow right under the gut but I recovered anyways withdrawing my hand and placing it awkwardly back on my lap.

“Clara…remember the day that Cassie left?”

There was a flicker of something in her eyes but it passed too quickly for me to read it, however I gave it my own interpretation and kept speaking before she could interrupt.

“Luke was just a newborn. I had no idea she was packing up and only received a text when she was getting on

  • The Return Of The Discarded Billionaire Ex-Wife   Trying To Believe

Nick's POV "Cassie what do you say to a parenting class?"I have to make this work."I don't think I like where you're going with that, are you saying that I need someone to teach me how to parent my own child? As far as I know I'm a natural."My lips tightened into a firm line, natural parents didn't get drunk at every given opportunity, especially mothers; they are supposed to be soft caring and attentive. Like how Clara was. I swayed under the sheets, turning back and forth and finally looking back at her again. They had the same face but Cassie's features were sharper, more cynical and very unwelcoming. Her skin was always painfully pale, eyes sunken in and glossy and she seemed thinner everyday, if I thought about it they were bunch of things I wanted how to change for but so far the way she was treating our son Luke was the worst. He was discharged 3 days after being admitted into the hospital, I made efforts to drive out of the hospital each of those days. She would talk to

  • The Return Of The Discarded Billionaire Ex-Wife   I Quit Being Small

Clara's POVShe looked so smug when she replied, "now you know how far I will go so why don't you just come back and play your role like you always do instead of throwing this long temper tantrum."My eyes rolled from her head to her toes mortified, to think that I shared blood with this woman made my skin crawl. But this was no longer my circus and definitely not my monkey anymore."If you're tired of being a mother then you can hire a babysitter or a nanny. I'm through being that for you and Nicholas."Her smile fell by an inch. She opened her mouth to speak and then closed it right back before opening it up immediately again. "Nick it's not already looks like I promise I didn't, I didn't mean that I was just messing around." I could smell Nick's thick cologne from behind. I'm guessing he heard the conversation just now or enough to know how she felt about their son. Now it would be his responsibility to deal with it. I left them not even looking back to address him.My new life was

  • The Return Of The Discarded Billionaire Ex-Wife   Her Return , My Exit

Clara's POVIt was only for a split second but I saw it.The eyes of the same little boy I cuddled when he cried through the night. The eyes of the toddler who looked at me with all the other original in the world wrapped into them as he took his first steps towards me.Those eyes that looked at me as if I could reach the stars. It was also those same eyes that held me down like chains every time I even entertained the thought of the divorce. When everything else failed Nick was quick to use Luke to trap me."Go ahead! Leave abandoned our marriage! But like I said before I promise that you will never see our son again. And I'm going to make sure that even when he's an adult he still won't want to ever see your face."The thought of being separated from my precious baby boy would break any resolve I had to leave the marriage. I would remain perfectly still bending over backwards to make sure that I could wake up every morning and know that I could see him and hold him and call him my s

  • The Return Of The Discarded Billionaire Ex-Wife   Signed In Silence

Clara's POVI received a message from Mr Luther; "I'll be expecting you at the office by Monday, Miss Moore."At the moment I was just stepping out of the shower some of the steam was still rolling off of my body, a smile tugged at the corner of my lips and I responded by writing back; "Don't worry Mr Silas I will not disappoint you."This was an opportunity of a lifetime, I wasn't going to lose it again and waste my present life just like the previous one.Thoughtfully of my soon to be ex-husband he gave me the address of the hospital and texted it last night to me saying that when I was done acting uncaring I could come over.I smiled at the text and indeed I was going to come over this morning but not for the reason that he thought. It wasn't long after I was in the hospital holding a thick brown envelope under my grasp in order to reach him quickly I introduced myself as Nick's wife. That was a temporary truth and it was easier to just hand that information over for now instead of

  • The Return Of The Discarded Billionaire Ex-Wife   Between Blame and Fear

Nick's POVPerhaps I went a little bit too far because my headmaid, Martha, looked like she was closer to crime than telling me what I wanted to know.I eased back my anger realizing that it was misdirected at her and straightened up trying to collect myself."Doesn't Cassie know that Luke is in the hospital? Where is she right now?" I said it's simultaneously controlling the tone and volume of my voice because what I had said earlier drew a lot of unwanted attention. The last thing I would want was for anyone to recognize me like this, panicking and breaking down.Miss Gale seemed to relax herself when she saw I was no longer yelling at her but was still hesitant with her words until she admitted that Cassie was actually at a club."She said that she was going to have fun and I shouldn't disturb her no matter what. I tried calling her anyways when it happened but there was no response from her... Maybe her phone went down." She concluded with that incredibly flimsy excuse and it took
